I'm back from the rabbit hole you just sent me down. This painting was done about 1532 to 1533. Cortez conquered Mexico between 1519 to about 1522. Of course this is where cochineal dye had produced for years. So yes it's very possible the dress in this picture was dyed with cochineal and would have made it the latest fashion and most likely cost a small fortune.

FH had every album on CD. Was going thru the CD collection to whittle it down and Rush was going along with Triumph. Hubbymayhem says not so fast. Triumph went, Rush stayed.
Not a fan because of that gawd awful voice but I do have one of their songs on my MP3 player. Cold Fire. Hubbymayhem didn't recognize it as a Rush song because Lee isn't screeching.
I can listen to Roll the Bones also. But the rest? Nope!

We’ve just been through a period where we, appropriately in my estimation, savaged Doug Emhoff for his nanny escapades. Pete was doinking his producer at Fox and got her pregnant, all while his wife was at home. I don’t expect that should get treated any differently, nor should it, and blaming it on his service tours is no excuse.

Yes, he f'ed up. If I was his 2nd wife, I'd never vote to confirm him. But, like Trump, who also struggled with fidelity and marriage, it seems high T/power/money ends up in sh&tbag behavior...some repent from that (like Trump) and should be supported in higher offices, some don't...

Every one of us makes mistakes. Fair or not, they become fodder during the political process. Trump was able to overcome them first because a lot of people understand divorce and his were the garden variety. I think the kind of behavior Pete displayed, multiple times, shows at a minimum a substantial error in judgment and personal discipline. Second and more importantly, Trump is an accomplished person who has successfully run large companies and dealt with complex matters. He understands how things work at that level and how to change or fix them. Pete has zero real world experience outside his military service and as a tv host. In my opinion that’s not someone who can get the things done that must be accomplished at DoD to reform it. I wonder if he even knows where to start. Nonetheless I like the idea he is outside the process and was never in the contracting world. That could cause him to ask a lot of questions. But changing things takes a certain level of knowledge and there isn’t time for a learning curve. I feel like he’s in way over his head and destined for failure. But that’s just me. I truly hope he succeeds

My mother in law was working with a rescue and they had a 7 year old female that needed a home. We met with the dog and it didn't work out. She wasn't spayed, didn't get along with the MIL's dog (A German Shepherd who was everyone's mother) and she was a bit standoffish with us.
They are really good pups though. The friend I mentioned who had CKCS had a pair of Pyreneses before.
