I had an SF game in the 70s that was true 3d. Ships teleported using telepathic females. Fight by stunning the other telepaths mentally. Starforce Alpha Centauri. Blood free until the Xenophobes arrive and start putting 'conversion triggers' into suns and blowing up the solar system. Map was nearby space to some 20-40 lightyears.,
Come to think of it there was battlefleet mars, that the tactical game had 3d, two ship counters on 2 maps for XY and XZ. That one was cool because the planets moved on the map and there was a distance tool to figure out how long it would take to get to a planet from another, you had to aim where it was going to be.

I read an old western where the prospector's mule did just that, saved their lives. I wasn't sure that was plausible but it seemed like it could happen. Mules are very strong and very tough.

What is left is NOTHING like the original site.
There IS one saloon left that existed at the time.
Check that place out. It is quite interesting.
Do the mine tour. It shows what badasses your ancestors were.

Ever notice every space ship in Star Wars and Star Trek, all the sci-fi movies and shows, are ALWAYS in the same orientation?
We never see two space ships approaching each other with one inverted, or sideways.
It's called "making it relatable for the audience". Kind of like how every jet battle in movies is presented as a dogfight, when the last time that happened as a norm was the Korean War. Since then the vast majority of fighter combat is done with missiles where you couldn't get two planes in the same frame without them being tiny dots. My favorite SF thing like that was always the first Star Wars movie space battle scenes which were total WW2 right down to gunners sitting in turrets. Why exactly did the torpedo that blew up the Death Star have to be flown manually right over the hole? Reality would say it would be programmed to hit the spot and the only thing that would matter would be the independent range of the weapon which would dictate the range where it was released. Why did it work like it did? Movies, that's why.

Concur on all points, although the OK Corral is just one of those touristy things to take in while you're there.
The saloon mentioned is a must-see. Shuttered when the price of silver crashed and Tombstone became a ghost town. Opened up 50 years later. Best tour in Tombstone, IMO..

It was a very narrow path on each side of the stage-second story.
It's like they threw it in as an afterthought back then.
What surprised me is how small the place was.
I expected it to be so much bigger.

I'm going to try to keep the cats Trumpy and Snowflake in the rest of the night until 6am or so. It's colder now amd they were out most of the day.

My neighbor across the street from me had a Kamala sign up before Hurricane Helene bowled through the area. They did not bother replacing the sign afterwards. Another house in my neighboorhood had a Trump sign up after the hurricane that wasn't there before.
On another note my sister said she was going to write in her friend who is a successful realtor in their area. She said she saw a lot more signs for her than the other two candidates, lol. She decided to vote for Trump anyways since while she didn't like him, she had to accept there's "no there, there" with Kamala. And it's not like her vote counted much, she lives in the south Puget Sound area.

In Deadwood, SD last August we saw a guy with a really loud voice dressed up as Wild Bill. He told the story of the poker game where he was shot. They also did a cheesy shoot-out in the street afterward.
Maybe I wasn't impressed because I can just drive 20 miles over to Compton any weekend night in the summer and see the same d####d thing for free....
