People of our age, *29, had parents, relatives and a school system that taught right from wrong, there were consequences for misdeeds and the "Golden Rule". Quite simply you treat another human being the same way you want to be treated. You are no better than the man at the diner cafe counter, the waitress serving that diner, the kid busing tables, the dishwasher or the owner who is slinging hash.

What was once slow trickles of arrogance, condescension and projection have now merged to become a dangerous raging river ready to wipe out the USA.

The trickles have been gaining speed since the 2010. That year Scott Walker was elected governor of the State of Wisconsin. When the GOP captured the assembly, senate and the governorship and implemented cost saving measures. The senate democrats fled the state to Illinois so there wasn't a quorum to vote. Yes, very mature. Protesters stormed the Wisconsin Capital in Madison. Quite frankly, I wish it had burned to the ground along with the protesters. Then liberal amounts of Kosher salt spread throughout the ashes.

We have an official cabinet department responsible for dealing with the entire world, both good and bad. And this is how they react because they didn't get their way. Do you really want these mentally ill adolescents in charge of anything other than a coffee maker or a mop?

I voted for Ronald Reagan twice. I voted for Bush The Elder Twice. Imagine how I felt the day after Slick Willie beat Bush. I got up, drove to my job. Did my job, drove home. And spent the evening with the Fabulous, our daughters and pooches. There was no sobbing, no Emotional Therapy Dogs. No crayons. Just living the life I had at the time being the best husband, father and employee I could be. I've always been political but by God I'm not going to let it run my life. There were recitals to attend. Basketball games to watch. Fish fries to be consumed with friends.

I didn't hate my fellow American for not voting the way I wanted them to. Never threatened to quit because the people I served were lower than I. Because we differ didn't make me better.

But what galls me the most is the pure "Holier than thou" attitude these 'Thought leaders and educators' display in public let alone the faculty lounge. I am not a gynecologist. But, I know a k@n+ when I see one. Can you imagine walking up to a clerk and mock them to their face about their opinion concerning the presidential election? Well if you can't imagine doing that. Let me introduce you to someone who would.

I'm guessing ~~Arlene~~ Karen is single since her cats didn't go out and purchase that bottle of Trader Joe's Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine. Nothing like drinking alone with a herd of felines right Arlene? Did the tears of defeat and rejection stain your stylish yet unattractive clothing?

Doing a little research on the Hag of The Year she doesn't tell us where she indoctrinated her students at. Have no idea where she earned any degrees. Couldn't find her prediction that Donald J. Trump would win in 2016 either. She's remarkably delusional in her self-importance.

So what do we do about these arrogant, condescending, Golden Rule breakers? Should we research them thoroughly? Follow them to the gym? Serenade their homes at 3AM or Bother the hell out of them while they eat?

Bud Light saw that boycotting can cause financial harm. It's time to fight back, we no longer should turn the other cheek while asking for another. As the lead link stated:

I will admit, I was pretty wrecked mentally after 2020. It was like, 'this isn't the way it is supposed to go. Why isn't someone doing something?' May have been a pussy way to feel, but I still went to work and did my job. And then the J6 shit Reichstag set up bullshit just made it worse. Spent the last 4 years occasionally thinking about those guys. They should all be pardoned and every single motherfucker who was involved in their arrest and imprisonment... looked at.

Never felt that way during Obama's 'victories', but I sure as hell did then. It was not so much that a candidate had failed, but somehow my perception of right and wrong and reality was well, wrong. That was pretty jarring.

64 The Oregon Republicans in the Legislature tried to do that whole "not show up" to deny a quorum over a couple of laws they felt were worth fighting the supermajority over during Covid (which is still going on in Oregon), and they got penalized for it. One let protesters in during some counter demonstration, and he got seriously penalized over that.

Because Oregon didn't have an impeachment law, they passed that through this election, and now, of course the supermajority can take away the representation of any county or district for the crime of wrong-think.
And the Dem machine will use it often and will brag about what they can do at will I expect. Because Oregon is a banana republic.

Watched a compilation video earlier that had clips of HS teachers whining about the elections results... I don't know if they didn't consider, or didn't care, that all their students carry recording devices. Some of them have, supposedly, been placed on administrative leave. I assume that's paid vacation until they shift them to a different school but who knows.

I was in a mailing list group of graduates from a service academy - there were effers on there who threatened other list members with report to the FBI for supporting Trump DURING the 2016 election.

I dumped that group and never looked back. Never again.

I got in a big spat with a friend during the 2020 election and we have partially patched it back up. I used to think of him as a non-batshit lefty who I could talk to about politics rationally. But we weren't discussing marginal tax rates anymore he was calling me a Nazi.

If you disagree with someone on whether top earners should pay 36% or 40% in income tax, there is a middle ground (maybe 38%?) and there is also room to simply disagree. But really hard to come back from you support a Nazi so you are a Nazi.

2016 was the Libertarian Party's year to reach 5% of the popular vote and start receiving federal funding for elections.

We were constantly bombarded with reports that we would not know who won the election for days or even weeks. Along side of that we were told multiple times that Trump really had no path to 270 votes in the electoral college because harris was leading in all seven swing states.

If you look for outliers in schools having professors voting Republican, political science and econ are the disciplines in the social sciences with the highest number of Republicans.

Small and less that it was 10-15 years ago but then again, so are STEM programs with a lot more 'scientists' identifying with the left for money, power, and a disdain for Christians.

The more empirical a department is, the more likely rigor and logic outweighs muh feelz and that in part is why law is increasing turning left as muh feelz is replacing objective analysis of the law.

I think one of the student groups is actually doing a census of universities to determine how professors vote.

The lady that's been cutting my hair for 20 years is a Democrat. I've known this for quite a while and I'm sure she's known that I'm on the Conservative side of the aisle for the same time period.

She said she's actually afraid of what's coming with Trump being re-elected. I asked why and it basically was abortion. She's old enough for that not to be HER issue, but her daughter had an issue a year or so ago where her baby had complications and passed before anything could be done. She was given a prescription for the drug that forces labor to deliver the deceased fetus. She had to go to 6 different pharmacies to get the drug. It failed. She had to get it removed by other means.

She blames Trump and the 'Cruz abortion ban' in Texas. That's not at all what the law says nor the drug availability.

They're truly broken.

I do have respect for both of them. They really should do a show like that - Van can begin to publicly work through some of the deep-seated problems with the Dem party and try to bring them back into the mainstream. Trump, IMO, is not really a conservative, but a common sense America-loving patriot. The Dems could use a little common sense there. We need two functioning parties. Not too soon, however. Ten years in the wilderness should be enough for them.

A serious Libertarian Party would be closed borders, against the welfare state, and advocating for vastly reduced federal powers.

It's probably the combination of issues that are both Libertarian (the open-borders stance is actually not universally held by libertarians, it's just that faction took control of the LP) and popular enough to gain some level of traction.

My home county in IL (I moved at college and haven't returned) voted 71%, up for 69%.

Most of Illinois is misruled by Chicago.

Our politics causes a LOT of friction, because people should be ruled by another people that live 8 hours away simply because there are more of them.

Our country was designed to have extreme limits as the governing moves further from the governed. We haven't had that in 100 years+.

In most of American history this was not so. The young moved to find the resources for a better life. They moved from Mass. to Vermont, from Virginia into Kentucky and the Ohio Valley, from the Carolinas to Georgia. After that you moved to College and to get your post College jobs. These generations may be when the movement has slowed down, and graduates did not move on but stayed in place.

Our politics causes a LOT of friction, because people should be ruled by another people that live 8 hours away simply because there are more of them.

Our country was designed to have extreme limits as the governing moves further from the governed. We haven't had that in 100 years+.

When I lived in Chicago the only opposed election was US Senator. Tell me how I vote out of that.

The GOP should oppose every election with a energetic young group on the ground with a laser printer to print fliers and ask what people need. AOC toppled a bigwig in just that way, and its good training for the proto candidate and staff. Trainers could contact central by Zoom or other electronic means. And we might win one here and there.

I regard a government looking out for me like Frodo seeing the eye of Sauron. I want a government to leave me alone so I can look after myself. Until we start teaching young adults to look after themselves, we’re going to keep getting children looking for a highly intrusive government as a surrogate parent.

The Right has a bad problem swooning over someone saying what they believe on TV. But, in reality, a lot of them are treacherous back stabbers that are simply climbing their way to fame and fortune in the media.

If he continues to trash libs on CNN, then that is quite a deed. But that is hardly a road to fame, election ratings on CNN was terrible.

The government looking out shouldn't be looking at me, it should be looking abroad for enemies to confront and friends to trade with. It should be looking at criminals in the bushes and corrupt in politics.
