Very mild temps here in the north valley. Began putting some old puppy chow out for a very skinny stray cat. The first week I refilled the tray three times daily. She gorged for a week. Then cut rations to one handful per day, but not on a schedule. No routines, food appears morning, noon or late in the day. I want her out and about foraging and to find a home, just not my home.

- That's part of the big problem with the cat eaters in Ohio. They're here under some BS "probation" refugee program. People are more and more pointing out that law abiding folks aren't given probation by the government. That action is reserved exclusively for criminals. I really think normal people are beginning to get fed up. All they had to do was take it slowly, but they couldn't help themselves. For whatever reason there's a race to 2030 and they had to push every gay rainbow, illegal alien, etc. thing as hard as they could to get there in time. And now we, through trump, are threatening it. The bill of rights was never meant to apply to the states. And it didn't for a long time. There were several state churches in the early republic, for example. The 14th Amendment and the judiciary's incorporation doctrine have made a hash of things, diminishing the extent to which states could do their own thing.

I'm also a 10th Amendment nutjob that believes the Constitution means what it says and states have the say in if babies can be killed. That way if you don't like it you move to another state. Or, conversely, move to the state to kill all them babies. Also apply to guns
- guns: 2nd amendment Posted by: m - Absolutely, but in the eternal words of Obi Wan Kenobi: "It's dead, Jim." That amendment exists only slightly more than the 10th does. At least it's visible to some people, though. If we could get an abortion ruling that abolished the ATF and left Class III stuff to the states it would be viewed as the greatest 2nd Amendment victory in 100 years. The bill of rights was never meant to apply to the states. And it didn't for a long time. There were several state churches in the early republic, for example. The 14th Amendment and the judiciary's incorporation doctrine have made a hash of things, diminishing the extent to which states could do their own thing.
Posted by: Tomorrow's Dumbness Today - It's part of why I don't feel too bad about where we are today. The founders themselves didn't make it a generation before the republic fell when the judiciary seized power in Marbury vs Madison. That was the end. Poof, just like that. One super-equal branch to tell the others what they wanted. That we stayed as free as we did for this long is amazing. It's sort of neat to recognize that "puritanical scold" along with the freedom to be an outlier and outcast to be shamed/scolded are pretty much the core elements of a functional American society.
Without it we get the 2012-2024 error. Sorry, era. And it's really interesting to note that all that happens is the scolds switch sides from normal people trying to prevent degeneracy being the main social force to the child abusers trying to promote degeneracy and perversion having power. I also usually generate three or four versions using similar key words and phrases then splice in the best bits. I also read the text out loud to see how it sounds. I do edit out things that don't fit or I don't like. Once done, my readers seem to like the output. I'm not Billy Shears, Winston O'Boogie or Lindor Glickman, but I do seem to create with the help of pen and paper. NOTE: This comment was not never un uh boosted with AI phermones.
