The media got excited when exit polls (which are hot garbage) showed that the issue that animated a plurality of voters, 36%, was protecting democracy.

This, they thought, must mean that Kamala's going to have a great night. After all, they spent four years pushing this latest hoax/psyop as the main argument against Trump and for a continuation of the Biden-Harris tyranny.

Some people pointed out that it was possible that many of those animated to Protect Democracy actually were voting against the left's censoriousness and literal jailing of political opponents.

I thought that some might indeed be voting that way, but surely, after four years of relentless propaganda and psyops, surely most people thinking about protecting Muh Democracy were brainwashed by the media, right?

I know I sound like an unhinged lunatic with this stuff, but I really do feel that this is the most existential crisis for our country in a long time. And while that was a talking point 20 years ago, the levels of immigration have increased to unimaginable levels 20 years ago.

Of the 300 or so million people legally here in the US, 50 million are foreign born. And another ... what? 50-100 million people on top of that 350 are here illegally.

And the children of ALL of those people are counted in the 250 million "legal american born citizens."

The entire demographics of this country will be replaced in 1-2 generations if we don't start kicking people out now.

These immigrants are almost all of, or approaching child bearing ages. native born US citizens are, on average, much older than our new arrivals.

I don't even really blame the immigrants. I'd probably do the same thing. They're promised by the US govt and our NGO's that if they pack up their shit and pay some money, they too can live the American Dream.

I'd disagree. I listen to him on my commute regularly.

I think he's a pretty standard issue 1990's Democrat on the issues.

But with the politics of today, and free speech being his biggest issues (for obvious reasons, it's how he makes his money as a mediocre comedian and top podcaster), and he's very much against censorship.

I think it's more than that.

Boys, specifically, grew up being told they were the root of all problems in the world. White boys even moreso. They were told any traditional male behavior was "toxic masculinity."

They were told that when they couldnt sit still for 8 hours being harped at by a 50 year old lady, they had a mental disorder and needed to be medicated.

They were told that they needed to recognize their privilege.

Then when they hit puberty -- OH BOY. Everything they thought or did was rapey or incely or horrible and "believe all women" etc. etc. etc.

So society traumatized these young boys. Then as they grew up, they realized that was all gay and retarded (to use their language). I think that has led to HUGE backlash. And this started in the 1990s and has continued since. We'll see how this plays out long term.

It's usually hard to get together with people during the holidays, especially since most people's families don't live in NYC, so a lot of people are traveling out of state for thanksgiving and again for christmas. I did that one year in grad school. Ine roommate and another couple from Peru constituted the foursome. That was the first time that I prepared a Turkey and fixings and everything came out pretty darn well. It was great fun.

Crap, I did hear that analysis...the person made the point that RFK didn't have to endorse him. He could just have slunk away and said nothing. Instead, he openly endorsed him and worked tirelessly on the MAGA/MAHA message being the same. He probably was a factor in some states. I think I saw Wisconsin only went to Trump by 30k votes? Some of that were RFK supporters, had to be.

And his supporters were all libs, and they are embracing MAGA and showing other libs how to reject the MAGA=Nazi lies.
