THE MORNING RANT: Post-Election Buck Shots

The election of Donald Trump as President is wonderful news, and I will have plenty to say about my expectations for his administration in dealing with anti-carbon regulations, the climate scam, EV mandates, woke capital, etc in coming months.

Here at Ace’s place, political discussions regarding “the horse race,” election results, polls, and such are usually not my lane, but with the excitement of Election Day still with us all, I am going to make an exception with some thoughts and observations about the results of the November 2024 election.

*****

“Trust me, I’m Lying”

Kamala attempted the “Trust me, I’m Lying” gambit re Israel’s war against its attackers, but it blew up on her, as that stategy often does.

Despite her rather open hostility to Israel and her clear support for those who mean to harm Israel, Kamala offered up a few insincere “wink wink” words of support to Israel.

In a post-October 7 world, Jewish voters weren’t fooled, and they abandoned her in record numbers based on her proven antagonism to Israel. Meanwhile, American Muslims didn’t understand that Kamala’s stated support for Israel was a classic, “Trust me I’m lying moment.” They believed her, and they withheld their support. Some cast votes for Trump, but there were also lots of protest votes to third party candidates.

Dearborn, Michigan is Muslim-majority. 88% of its vote went to Biden in 2020, but Kamala got only 36% of the vote in 2024.

Hispanic South Texas Has Flipped Bright Red

The great Democrat hope of turning Texas blue always assumed Mexican-Americans would remain loyal Democrats, despite the party getting taken over by the Women of Whole Foods, with their radical agenda and their sneering contempt for blue-collar workers. Affluent, liberal, white women fetishizing Hispanic Texans as gender-fluid “Latinx” probably didn’t help either.

As recently as the 2016 Presidential election, all of South Texas, which is predominantly Tejano / Mexican-American, was solid blue, as shown immediately below.

Texas Red Blue 2016.JPG

But this week, Donald Trump swept nearly every South Texas county. More importantly he did sweep all the densly populated areas of South Texas. The four southernmost Texas counties, known as The Rio Grande Valley, all went to Trump, as did Webb County, which is home to Laredo.

Texas Red Blue 2024.JPG

Ponder this, Starr County in southernmost Texas is 97% Hispanic and went for Hillary Clinton by 60 percentage points in 2016 – 79% for Clinton and 19% for Trump.

But in 2024, Trump won the county, 58% to 42%! In eight years there was a 76% electoral swing in Trump’s favor.

Expect the Left to Abandon the Flag Again

Several of the sterotypical Democrat AWFLs that I grew up with or am related to engaged in “Take Back the Flag” social media activism this campaign. I was fine with it, as I wish for the American flag to represent all Americans, and I’ve been saddened by the spitting hatred so many Democrats have had for the flag, especially as they rallied around the Kaepernick-era flag-hatred.

But…I also noticed that every one of the flag photos they posed with had a “disclaimer,” by which I mean they would never just hang the Stars and Stripes. It always had to be accompanied by an LGBTQ flag, or some Harris-Walz signs, or something to alert their neighbors that they aren’t the same as icky MAGA flag-wavers.

Now that the election is over, I want to see if those flags remain up, but without all the Democrat political signaling. Actually, I know the answer. The American flags (with their accompanying Democrat identifiers) have already given way on Facebook to black circles of protest.

Are the Walls Closing in Yet?

How long until the propaganada media resumes their daily dose of “more bad news for Donald Trump”? Does this start even before his inauguration?

Shouldn’t Leftists be Fleeing from America’s Hitler?

Related, if the lefties who were shrieking about Trump being Hitler and imposing an authoritarian dictatorship really believed what they were saying, would they be posting online videos of themselves screaming or would they be fleeing for their lives.

It’s almost as if they didn’t believe a word they were shouting.

Is NeverTrump Going to Accuse Trump of Underperforming Again in the Greal Lakes States?

I have unfollowed pretty much every NeverTrumper, as their grift is getting long in the tooth. They haven’t supported a Republican for President since 2012 or before. Some who were seduced by Obama and his crisp slacks haven’t supported a Republican presidential nominee since 2004.

That said, I am curious if they are cranking out the “Actually, Trump underperformed…” nonsense that they spit out in 2016.

After Trump won Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania in 2016 – something that none of the Dole/Bush/McCain/Romney Republicans could do - it was National Review’s Dan McLaughlin, as I recall, who wrote that any surrender-con such as Jeb or Mitt would have won those states even more handily than Trump.

Please let me know who is the first faux-conservative to crank out a piece about how Nikki would have outperformed Trump and won with 400+ electoral votes.

Trump’s Great Act of Political Hygiene

By defeating Kamala, Trump also defeated the Obamas, who had effectively controlled the White House for three presidential terms, and with Kamala Harris, Obama was aiming to be in charge for two more terms.

Consider this, Trump has now done this country the enormous service of ending four political dynasties:

• The Bush dynasty, by defeating the establishment’s chosen primary candidate, Jeb! Bush in 2016.
• The Cheney family, by making Dick Cheney a bi-partisan pariah, and by pushing Liz Cheney into Kamala’s cackling embrace.
• The Clinton dynasty, by defeating Hillary in the 2016 presidential election.
• The Obama dynasty, by defeating their puppet, Kamala Harris, in 2024.

For this act of political hygiene, I will forever be grateful to President Donald Trump.

Patel discusses this and the following:

BREAKING: Kash Patel just announced that massive declassification will occur in Trump's Administration from the Epstein to the Diddy list. It's all going to be made public.

"He's going to come in there and maybe give them the Epstein list, maybe give them the P Diddy list and they are terrified."

30 Spot on.

Meanwhile, folks that are important to creating the infrastructure, foundations, and guard rails of the economy and society were transforming themselves into the managers of society. They really contribute very little to the progress of humanity, but they are necessary, confined to their proper sphere, to enable order and prepare the next generation. Academia, Hollywood, Wall Street, Government, were doing well living off the past great creations of the builder class rather than enabling the future great creations.
*cough*Disney*cough*

But America is not a country that kowtows to the elites. We are a country of people like me that reject authority that tells us what we must do. And once it became clear that those elites were trying to rule us rather than help and support us, we found our champion and we put him in power.

In a three-paragraph decision, Federal District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas J. Campbell Barker (a Trump appointee, and yes, that does make a difference) ruled that the program the administration rolled out in June 2024 "lack statutory authority under 8 U. S. C. § 11821(d)(5)(A) itself (as opposed to under other provisions modifying or supplementing that authority) to grant parole "in place" to aliens" under the benign-sounding "Keeping Families Together" program.

134 “ Any ideas why Muslim leaders and Muslim voters swung to Trump”

Most of the opining on this comes from people who have no idea what they are talking about. It presumes that most Muslims are antisemites. I will let you in on something gained from experience- that’s not true. What many Muslims in our country want is peace. What they also want are many of the same things the rest of us want, economic security, less crime and the ability to raise our families without government interference. This misnomer they want something different than us only plays to Democrats divisive politics of demographics. Now, that doesn’t mean there are not some radicals in the Muslim community. But I would submit to you that on a percentage basis that group is probably less than they are in the overall number of extremists in the American population. A lot of these people in the Muslim community emigrated here to escape the insidious insecurity they left behind, not to bring it with them. YMMV.

Yeah, this "democrats win smart people votes" talking point is annoying for a few reasons.

The first reason is that just because someone got a masters degree in social work does not make them smarter or "more educated" than a high school drop out who runs a construction company. In fact, he probably made the smarter, more economically wise choice.

The second reason is that the only industry I know of where it makes financial sense to get a masters degree is government work. Private sector companies rarely give people a pay bump just for getting an MBA or whatever. So unless it's a very specific masters, it doesn't make economic sense for most people to get one.

So what are we really measuring here? Mostly government employees and dumb dumbs who got a useless degree and now work at starbucks.

That is why the constant GOPe apologizing for its voters has to stop and those officeholders pushing that their own voters are bigots, racists, etc. should be singled out, named, shamed, and kicked out of office.

218 He had a really strong turn out in Queens even.

And, for reference, this isn't 1970's Queens full of Archie Bunker types. This is 2024 Queens, by far the most diverse county in the US. There are some upper middle class white people in LIC and Astoria, but most of Queens is full of ethnic enclaves of people from all over the world.

And Trump did fairly well there.

Anyways, all of the lefts narratives got blown up with this election. For example -- Harris won NY by a smaller margin than Trump won Florida (which used to be a swing state, and many D's said was in play this election). Which... wow.
Posted by: Harry Paratestes at November 08, 2024 11:25 AM (Evo1G)

219 The one thing that always burns me up about elections is that from the left side, if they lose everything, if someone like Trump won even bigger than he did, a clean vast government majority sweep, the primary outcome for them is their life would be measurably better. If however they win, while their real life sucks more, they get to gloat and preen constantly about their side.

It's always win/win for the left. For everyone else it is lose, make do and push through, or win and just hope it lasts a while.

Incredibly unjust, rediculously harmful, but to be expected in a fallen world.

Walz was not at the top of the ticket so I don't think losing this election would hurt him in 2028. He has potential. He would be free to be more of the attack dog he wanted to be but couldn't with Harris. His persona is that of a regular person not an ivy league elite.

I would take any combination of Newsom, AOC, Mayor Pete, and Whitmer. Man that would be a tough primary. Wouldn't even know who would get my vote between those 4.

Vance in a landslide. A CA Gov and a NYC progressive Congresswoman have no chance in a nationwide election. From 2008 onward, the winner has taken PA, WI and MI. Newsom and AOC won't do well there.

275 They are actually in a lot of jeopardy after recent court decisions and the revival in the House by GOP of the Holman rule allows the House to vote to zero the pay of any federal official that is not constitutionally protected (elected officials and judges) during budget bills.

Recent scotus decisions also make it clear (as do really old Sup. Ct. decisions--see Myers and Humphrey's Executor, that the executive has executive power via the Constitution and as such can remove non performing federal workers for cause such as insubordination, corruption, incompetence, etc. and regardless of any congressional law (in Myers, the old Tenure in Office Act that required Senate approval to remove a postmaster), it cannot stand if the primary job of the bureaucrat is managerial or political in nature.

I'd warn you that this can be turned against us. The Democrats could stuff every federal office and position with partisans who ignore the law and abuse Americans in order to further their grip on pow....

Never mind.

280 OK something's occurred to me since the numbers started coming in Election Night, relating to the massive swing in the Hispanic vote. A "law of unintended consequences" sort of thing.

Democrats have been all-in on illegal immigration under Obama then Biden, with the expectation that will load the votes for D's. Meanwhile, that and other bad policy has clearly soured the pre-existing Hispanic voting bloc and may very well have made them lifelong Republicans.

The children of the illegals will integrate into the Hispanic portion of society. So you've turned the voting tendencies of a bloc against you, and in a generation will have swelled their ranks dramatically, thus strengthening the Republican base long term.

Plausible?

293 More Sobering: The Success of Abortion Amendments to State Constitutions that passed easily this cycle.
Posted by: garrett

Right to Life organizations like the abortion lobby concentrated on national politics for YEARS with minimal attention to state laws. Dobbs threw it back to the states and both were on the wrong foot. Dems recovered quicker and have rammed through some shady and vague amendments and initiatives to the state Constitution while the Right to Life people were not engaged.

The inevitable horror stories will come out--these amendments will cause child mutilations, killing live babies, etc. that the Right to Life people can then use to vote to remove those amendments. But they have to reorganize and ignore trying to get the big daddy national government to do their work for them. No longer a role for the fedgov (except on the margins) and the state Right to Life will have to organize on the state level.
Start with freedom of conscience and late term abortions that are not popular and kill extensions to things like gender mutilation, sale of baby parts, and so on.

Like pre Roe, states will vary how far they go on abortions.

From a Daily Mail article today:

Rafael - A Category 3 hurricane - made landfall in Cuba on Wednesday as the 17th named storm of the season - but its path has stumped forecasters.

While Rafael is anticipated to stay in the Gulf and track westward for at least the next few days, meteorologists have varying data suggesting its direction beyond that.

A significant shift in the storm's forecast track is decreasing the threat to the US and increasing chances it will head toward Mexico's Gulf Coast - but a likely path is still unclear.

The National Hurricane Center said there's 'above average uncertainty in the future track of Rafael', KRLD reported.

'Most of the models show Rafael turning southwestward in response to a narrow ridge building to its northwest,' the agency said. 'But the Global Forecast System and Canadian models still suggest a northward turn ahead of a slightly deeper upper trough over the central United States.'

R is now the party of the hard working patriotic everyman and D is now the party of perverted hyper emotional warmongering freaks.

Some of the old stereotypes remain and Democrats will try to exploit that because they had 50 years of effective anti Republican Branding on their side (Nixon!!!!!!). But for now this shift could be semi permanent. They practically own the Bushes, Romneys and Cheneys now. Think about that.

And it wasn't an accident. I detailed exactly what he was doing from practically the start. The covid and steal speedbump got me down for sure but the magnificent bastard warriored on and did it anyway.

329 >>Did the Republicans fight voter fraud this time around? Or did the Democrats not have the same kind of covid bullshit mail-in ballot scheme going like 2020? Or both? Or neither? Or what?

Much smaller universe of ballots, increased scrutiny from the past election, much more robust GOP early voting and GOTV efforts, more lawfare from the GOP, etc.

Basically, everyone who had PTSD from 2020 and were doomers, now have a data point to look to going forward.

What should also be considered is the Ronna and her RNC cronies and lawyers sat on their asses for almost two years before being fired. The head of the RNC legal efforts under Ronna was a friend of Marc Elias for example.

Thus, the RNC lawfare team had to be spun up from nothing starting in March which is way late.

One of the key to deflate the cheat machine is combing through and suing all jurisdictions that do not purge their voter rolls of fake, dead, moved, etc. voters. The RNC always has standing under HAVA (motor voter) to do that but it takes time and money to clean up the rolls because the permanent cheat machine of Dem voter registration drives is always adding new fake voters.

333 Morning.

Pardon me but I feel a slight need to piss a little on Meester Throckmorton's parade a bit.

It's great that Trump took so much of my home in the RGV. BUT! My Congressional district, 34, is still solidly Democrat. Mayra Flores got stomped for the second time in a row by incumbent Vicente Gonzalez. (Side bar to that, every single incumbent in every Congressional race in Texas won their race.) district 34 covers Cameron county, which if you look all the way to the bottom and on the right right by the coast that's us, the three counties directly north of us (Willacy, Kenedy and Kleberg) and a chunk of Hidalgo which neighbors us to the west.

Here's an NBC News link.

https://tinyurl.com/msbu69se

While I think it was a tighter race than Gonzalez would have liked unfortunately Trump didn't quite have the coattails to drag Flores across the finish line. Sad face.

Sure.

I will say this -- culturally, mexico / central / south america are not that much different than us. Just much poorer.

And yes, they all have stereotypes about each other, and they can be fairly racist to the indigenous people and the descendants of slaves.

We in the US made up terms ("hispanic" "latinx") to describe a group as a monolith, which is silly.

There are ethnic, racial, and linguistical differences within mexico, much less the rest of central / south america.

Long story short -- democrat messaging about white privilege does not appeal to light skinned hispanics, and if anything, turns them off.

And they see that the money / favors they once got from the D's are now going to new migrants, and they're realizing "ohhhh... thats how this works."

Similar thing happened to the Asians, Irish, etc.

391 Consider this, Trump has now done this country the enormous service of ending four political dynasties:

• The Bush dynasty, by defeating the establishment’s chosen primary candidate, Jeb! Bush in 2016.
• The Cheney family, by making Dick Cheney a bi-partisan pariah, and by pushing Liz Cheney into Kamala’s cackling embrace.
• The Clinton dynasty, by defeating Hillary in the 2016 presidential election.
• The Obama dynasty, by defeating their puppet, Kamala Harris, in 2024.

For this act of political hygiene, I will forever be grateful to President Donald Trump.

So much this.

393 We need to agitate the left as much as possible that they must investigate where the missing 15-20 million Democrat votes from 2020 went.

Tell them that is was Republican vote suppression.

And that if they don't find out how to stop it now, it'll be worse in 2026.

Honestly, I thought they were kinda in on/ok with the fraud; a wink-and-a-nod, "but we won" type of thing.

I keep reading that the federal government can’t do anything to fix corrupt states with broken elections like PA or MI because the Constitution grants exclusive authority to states to run and manage their elections.

396 Continued,
For realignment to occur, the GOP needs to change its policies from top to bottom to favor average people in their nation, state, and localities.

Not bidness, not corporations wanting cheap labor from abroad and outsourcing American jobs offshore, shutdown the war lobby and foreign aid slush funds, shutdown the intel community focusing on domestic politics and their political opponents, and so on.

I think Trump gets it. I do not think many of the GOP officeholders do yet or ever will because they are stuck in the past when America was wealthy enough for them to pursue their destructive looting, grifting, and policies that weakened us.

To the point where schools dropped the george floyd / DEI / CRT / Drag Queens / gender transitioning stuff REAL fast.

Turns out, upper west side rich women agendas don't play well in most neighborhoods.

For example, my friend is a teacher, and she got a memo this year about how the proper procedures must be followed if a kid comes out as gay or transgendered (which involves a social worker, school admin, and the parents). In deep blue NYC they're following a rational policy on this subject and not telling teachers to "socially transition" students behind parents backs.

No, that is distorted. States have the time, place, and manner control over elections---but the federal government has the power over state election laws for elections to federal office and due to the 15th Amendment, has the power to require periodic purging of non existent, dead, etc. voters, grant money to states wanting to switch voting methods, and so on.

The House and Senate are ultimate judges of their own elections and can and have ignored the state certified winner and seated the challenger when fraud, etc. was involved. No role for state or federal judiciaries in that decision either just like impeachment powers. Congress has plenary power.

433 I have so many thoughts as election week winds down.

1. It's easy to laugh at the Democrats. After all, Harris ran a staggeringly bad campaign. No interviews, obvious lies about her record and intentions, and she managed to turn off both jews AND muslims. It's almost impressive how terrible she was. That said...

2. The Democrats will almost certainly learn nothing on the macro level. They are too in denial. They will, however, learn a ton on the micro level. They will do better ensuring they have people turning out on election day. They will do better with their messaging. They will pander. They will lie. They will say whatever the people in Michigan and Pennsylvania want to hear.

3. Power in Washington is never with one party for too long. Democrats WILL win again, and when they do, they will be more rabid than ever to claw back whatever Trump is hoping to achieve in his final four years. Therefore, it is imperative that Trump doesn't just do things, but does them in such a way that they can't be undone by the stroke of an executive's pen.

Now is not the time for navel gazing, however. Now is the time for celebrating. We'll plan for the future next year.

Actually, solar at the individual level of households, especially the coming microinverter types and higher efficiency, gives resilience to individuals during power outages. Micro inverters (compared with the larger inverter systems) can be set up to channel power to the house during outages and send it to the grid when there are none.

For a lot of people, just having the power during the day to run refrigerators, blower motors for gas heat, lights, etc. will reduce the suffering when something horrendous happens like in NC with the hurricane.

I think we should start decentralizing and breaking up all of our BIG institutions including power. Same goes for government institutions--small is beautiful and also has the benefit of lessening social frictions and removing power those that wish to be tyrants.

Addendum: Democrats actually DID turn out their people. They got their average of 65-70m to the polls. Trump won because he turned out a high % of low/first-time voters. Keeping them coming back is a serious challenge, and will make it very hard to hold the house in the midterms.

Trump really only has two years to get his most important stuff done. Immigration reform, Election integrity, inflation reduction. I think those have to be his top three things. Hopefully he gets them all done by the end of 2025, but I'm not hopeful: The Senate is, almost by design, a frustratingly slow legislative body. They need a stiff kick in the pants, but I suspect many will WANT to slow-roll Trump and his agenda.

449 There are some civilian jobs that require a clearance, usually contractors, but a blanket revocation of clearances for people out of government is probably not workable, though I do agree that anybody who signed the "Russian disinformation" letter should get clearance taken away.
And probably about 75% of the Congressmen that are currently serving on the Intelligemce Committee need to have theirs revoked too.

Probably could get away with revoking them, and giving preference on reissuing as a civilian if they can show an acceptable need, and position. I would insist on yearly training, review of penalties, legal reasons to yank them, and signed documents of agreement to comply with all rules. That way Lockheed and Colt can get their Government whisperers, and CNN has a path to request one too.

Posted by: People's Hippo Voice

I hadn't heard about this. How are they using SarbOx to go after the J6ers?
Posted by: Bulg

Interrupting/Interfering with official proceedings provision.

Sarbanes Oxley was passed in part because places like Enron were purposeful shredding and destroying documents before the Feds came to visit with warrants etc.

The DC DA's were arguing and District Courts in DC allowed the interpretation that Jan 6ers were interrupting an official proceeding aka counting the Electoral Votes by their protest.

The first problem was that Congress had already stopped the count before people entered the Capitol. Second, it was clear from the context, legislative history, etc. that this was aimed at specifically destruction of documents, potential witness tampering, etc of a criminal investigation.

Under the broad reading that the Dems were using, their own protesters in the galleries for such things as the State of the Union, committee votes, and so on would make all of those Dems doing that subject to felonies with a very long sentence.

460 Trump was stymied by his own GOP party in Congress in building the wall, stopping the endless 'refugee' bullshit, cracking down on companies hiring illegals, ending foreign military expeditions, and so on. And then the stupid Russia Russia bullshit which the House Leaders like Ryan already knew were bullshit but allowed the likes of Adam Schitt to seize and deploy a destructive fake narrative during 2017 which included a special prosecutor by Trump's asshole AG Jeff Session and his vicious underling asst AG Rod Rosenstein supervising it.

This time, you get the political whacks in the Godfather first and later pivot to the peace, prosperity, etc.

All of that was critical in the first two years when Trump held Congress and had that been done, the GOP would have held its own in the 2018 elections.

No he isn't. The GOPe went along with Trump's tax cuts because that is what their big donors wanted. This created the beginnings of prosperity. But they did not want tariffs, withdrawal from foreign lands, making NATO pay its fair share, cutting back spending (Trump's initial budget had substantial cuts in federal spending--Congress blew it off), fixing our bureaucracies via firing power, and so on.

DC Republicans were Dems in drag essentially other than tax cuts and they purposefully used the Russia Russia hoax of Killary knowingly to knee cap Trump. They purposefully did not recess to prevent their own party president from putting his nominees in that they did not want to vote for. All it took was ONE senator to move to recess which would force a vote or get unanimous consent and yet none did (which is a bone I have with both Cruz and Paul--I term it profiles in cowardice). BTW, move to recess is a privileged motion.

I have no mercy for shitheads like Ryan, McConnell nor for the Dems like Schitt that were allowed to run amuck and persecute.
