Sexy pug puppy.

Purse snatcher.

Workplace affair.

Booping the fox, if you take my meaning.

A nice little goosing.

Jaguar catches a tailfish.

Sharing is caring but hoarding is rewarding.

Hep dog.

Put the load right on me.

This dog just heard Trump won 312 EVs:

84 Quote ELON FACTS @ElonFactsX · 13h
Elon Musk envisioned what would become Starship from the very beginning of SpaceX. Here’s what he said in 2003:

“Our eventual upgrade path is to build the successor to Saturn V.

A super-heavy lift vehicle that could be used for setting up a moon base or doing a Mars mission.

Elon Musk @elonmusk Nov 7
Starship is now more than twice as powerful as the Saturn V Moon rocket and, in a year or so, it will be three times as powerful at 10,000 metric tons of thrust.

More importantly, it is designed to be fully reusable, burning ~80% liquid oxygen and ~20% liquid methane (very low cost propellant).

This enables cost per ton to orbital space to be ~10,000% lower than Saturn V.

Starship is the difference between being a multiplanet or single planet civilization.

Building a new world on Mars is now possible.

Lupus is Latin for wolf

Posted by: Krebs v Carnot: Epic Battle of the Cycling Stars (TM) at November 07, 2024 08:05 PM (qWj72)

131 little etymology

Italian "fuori" and spanish "afuerza' mean outside. the "for" part comes from the Latin foris.

In french this was de foris, which got mutated into "dehors," outside.

Anyway, the "for" in "foreigner" comes from this, meaning "outsider."

Weirdly, "forest" comes from this, but not the part you'd think. The latin for forest was something like foris sylvanum, where the sylvanum meant "forest" -- foris meant the "outside" of the forest, an area where lords only could hunt. But the "foris" part turned into french foret and english forest.

saw that on the YouTube channel with RobWords.

Try Moonie and Entwistle dueling on Can You See the Real Me. Great vocals by Daltrey too. Pete sits in the back on this one and adds color commentary with his guitar.

Entwistle's bass playing though is extraordinary--and it was on his first take as a joke by him--band loved it and kept it as is. Sort of like the dude in Beverly Hills cop movie with the tractor trailer rig crushing everything in his path. Moon's playing is stellar though.

Have to like people like Buddy Rich though to appreciate Moon's over the top playing. He was unique.

A journey to Mars will be a six month trip if least-energy and one-way (Hohmann) or a five month trip if we want most of the vehicle back on Earth after delivery (Aldrin). Either one means that the trip will have to BE a space habitat.
The two steps on the tech tree are: 1. the habitat, maybe assembled out of lunar rubble and 2. something that can deliver enough thrust to put that monster into the Hohmann-or-Aldrin.
I think this shouldn't be a Mars visit mission but a Deimos colony mission. Once there's a crew on Deimos, landing on Mars and taking off again is relatively easy.

And none of these languages has a neuter gender. Germanic languages do, so it's literally cultural imperialism to force them into the Romance language.

And the Germans are also getting a mite pissed about this as well, because they can't just use es ("it") because that would be wrong, so they're trying to re-engineer German to have a second neuter case. It's not going over well.

OK I am a wordsmith but words kind of fail me in a time like this. So I will lean on the words of the Book of Common Prayer, written by better men than I

O Lord, look down from heaven, behold, visit, and relieve this thy servant. Look upon her with the eyes of thy mercy, give her comfort and sure confidence in thee, defend her from the danger of the enemy, and keep her in perpetual peace and safety; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hear us, Almighty and most merciful God and Saviour; extend thy accustomed goodness to this thy servant who is grieved with sickness. Sanctify, we beseech thee, this thy fatherly correction to her; that the sense of her weakness may add strength to her faith, and seriousness to her repentance: that, if it shall be thy good pleasure to restore her to her former health, she may lead the residue of her life in thy fear, and to thy glory: or else give her grace so to take thy visitation, that, after this painful life ended, she may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

185 I love "My Wife" by Entwistle. Well, the Who, but it's an entwhistle song.
Posted by: ace

Heaven and Hell was a show stopper for the Who live. Hilarious lyrics.
Sample,
"On top of the sky is a place where you go
If you've done, nothing wrong
If you've done nothing wrong

And down in the ground is a place where you go
If you've been a bad boy
If you've been a bad boy"

Trick of the Light in Who Are You is another typical Entwistle song. The dude really lived the rocknroll lifestyle as much as Moonie did.

I think you can dig around and find Entwistle's touring band version of My Wife on you tube as well.

193 FINE... I'll be the first to say it: I wish Biden hadn't dropped out. I know it was his choice, and he is elderly. America gave him 20 million votes we didn't give Harris. Why? Because he's a WHITE MAN.

We gambled, like we did in 2016, that America had evolved beyond its sexist, racist roots. And like 2016, we lost. This time we lost even bigger: we lost the popular vote?

Do the math. Americans are garbage people.

Democrats need to reckon with the reality of such widespread misogyny, but I'm not sure if Joe would have won either. The rigors of campaigning would have made things so much worse.

We FOUGHT for democracy. And lost to sexists and racists. There's more of them than there is of us, and their hate is stronger than our nebulous "community".

trump's win shows that racism and misogyny is much worst than we thought. A certain POC demograhic voted 45 percent for trump, up from 32 percent for trump in 2020. Black voters support for trump was just 12 percent. The same as 2020.

Theresa, ignore google and the doc. I'd suggest joining a social media page (or healthunlocked) for your cancer type and see how others are currently doing right now. They'll know what treatments are around and are currently working for folks (and what clinicals are around that might be that miracle you are looking for)...

As I've said before, if you are not internet crowd sourcing your health with the experts (those who have it, those who research it, and those who treat it), you aren't getting as much as you can.

You've already crowd sourced prayers with us...now crowd source med advice (your doc may be an expert on your cancer, but he doesn't know everything about this cancer - he can't)...

Not really. Complicated story but revolved around the massive dump of horrible Eastern European pron into search engines everywhere and goes form there. There are three biographies out there and police reports if you care to dig into it. One by Pete himself, Daltrey has his own autobio out there and says he believe Pete, there is another one out there that is objective and relies on primary news reports, police reports etc. of all things Pete (about 600 pages or so) and that story is included there. And at least one hatchet job autobiography. Pete got a caution but no pron images etc, were ever found on all his seized computers, etc. Turned on his credit card being used on a website that had child pron on it including regular pron back in the early 00's I think.

Seems out of character but one of those things that started with a US investigator leaking information to a UK tabloid where it all blew up because Pete's name was on the list along with a bunch of other politicians including Members of Parliament, etc.

Well, Brian, if you all actually reported the news instead of filtering the news with propaganda, maybe that wouldn't be an issue but its all hysterical, pearl clutching, lies, bellowed out over the airwaves and written into print. Seething, endless, lies and hatred can wear one out. You'll be fine though. You're a sex machine.

Wish it was, but this one isn't one of those, unfortunately. Bile Duct Cancer (aka Cholangiocarcinoma) - 5-year survival rate 2-3%. We're hoping that we caught it early; I feel perfectly fine right now - most people don't have that luxury. This was caught looking for kidney stones (which I don't have).

I did tell the doctor that I'm gonna fight to be here to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2030. But this is an extremely aggressive cancer, and it is very resistant to chemotherapy drugs.

I do appreciate all of the Moron prayers - you guys have no idea how much they mean to both of us.

I am having a biopsy on Tuesday, as well as having a Mediport installed. The plan is to start chemo right after Thanksgiving. I will have another CT scan in February - hopefully the tumor will shrink in that time. If it does, I will be having the part of my liver where the main tumor is located. Unfortunately, it looks like there are more satellite tumors in the liver.

Quincy Jones has passed on to the Choir Eternal. Presumably to do his business on a Hohner Clavinet and a bunch of horns and stuff.

Quincy was a prime example of why I say 1965-1975 was peak humanity.

If it was 1965 and you were hosting a cocktail party in your finely-appointed Manhattan high rise apartment, you were listening to his "Soul Bossa Nova."

Ten years later, after your beleaguered took wife half your shit, and you were going at it with a couple dusky strippers in the conversation pit of your New Orleans living room, you were listening to his rendition of "Summer In The City."

RIP, dog.

Churchill had truly prodigious writings himself and during the wars had teams of typists transcribing him everywhere on what he said. Then there are all the minutes, memos, etc.

That sort of history exists because we have created an enormous machine of bureaucracy to generate paper (or pixels now).

Those reference volumes are really for future writers of smaller books to use for reference when they write The Beaver (Lord Beaverbrook) and Churchill or Churchill's Mad Genius Lord Cherwell, and so on.

Our presidents have similar sort of publications and things about their times in office (official papers set, etc.). I used to have a four volume document of the 1976 Carter Ford Debates which was an official government document for some reason.

325 It's almost as if PDT knew the Dims and Joe had 20-million fraudulent ballots in 2020. Gee, I wonder where that 20 million went this election??

||Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday said his strategy for the fall is less geared toward turning out supporters to vote and more focused on ensuring Democrats “don’t cheat” in the general election. “Our primary focus is not to get out the vote, it is to make sure they don’t cheat,” Trump said in remarks at a campaign event in Asheboro, North Carolina, a state Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign views as competitive this year.

“We have all the votes we’ll need,” Trump added, pointing to yard signs as proof of his popularity.||

I would say not. She is aging horribly along with her audience. It is more people on the media on the right that are gay for pay. (Pretend GOP types).

I find and have found journalists in my personal experience (including the NYT way back when) not particularly interested in the truth if something does not support their narrative. If what you say fits, they will print it but in such a form you would never recognize. If what you say contradicts what they want, they usually just drop you unless you are the target and they can twist it.

I talked with the media a couple of time when I was a junior prof and a senior prof warned me against it. He told me no gain from it and every interview and statement would be like a roulette wheel if the reporter chose to go that route. Better off concentrating on publishing.

What is bugging me like a wood splinter under my fingernail is the vote tally this time around.

Did not Prez. Trump win in a landslide with just about the same number of votes as 2020? Yet...in 2020 Biden had 81 million votes which begs the serious question...

Did 15-16 million voters SERIOUSLY just sit this one out?

I think Trump was on to the steal and the mail in ballots of 2020 hold the key.

We should hunt them all down that were involved with this. ESPECIALLY if we now hold the Senate AND the House.

We must NEVER let this happen again and to ensure that

If you are watching MSNBC, which the quote was directed at specifically then 68 is close to the median age of baby boomers. You have a bimodal group there--one half lived a normal life--the other half is stuck in Woodstock, smoking dope, dropping acid, participating in marches, protests, and Watergate. For them, it never ended and they are stuck in the past for the last friggin 50 years or so.

For them, the Nixon takedown never ends in their mind where the righteous reporters take down the Evil Dick of the day.

Don't be so sensitive. The Democratic half of Greats and Boomers have made the US into the dystopia it is today. Not blaming you but stating opinion here.

FWIW,
Yutes ain't watching cable news.

Average age of Fox is close to the median age of X at about 60. CNN, I think is about 65 or so the last time I checked.

Watching TV--broadcast or cable is largely a phenomenon driven by older viewers.

That video has actually been around for a while.

The first item on Trump's list in that video is to reissue Schedule F, the last Executive Order of his first term. It's controversial but Trump's legal team thinks it gives the president the power to break through the absurd rules that make civil servants almost untouchable. Trump enacted right before the 2020 election and it was one of the first things that corrupt dirtbag Biden repealed when taking office.

He's also got to get rid of the Obama enacted Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012. Color revolutions should never be run against American citizens by our own government.

This is why the permanent bureaucracy hates him. He's coming back to lay waste to them and they know it.

Well, Trumpy was injured and I brought him inside and took care of him for 30 hours before his family came back.

And since I'll be taking care of them in the New Year, sure they've spent the last 5 weeks in the house.

And when I found out crazy neighbour Bill from several houses down was using cat traps in his yard, I made a big push to get the cats indoors. It didn't work, but they hang around here most, enjoy the cat tree, love the circle ball thing, the scratching post, the fish and other toys.

And sure, after being fixed I took care of Trumpy again keeping the cone on him for a week and scratched his neck and ears whenever he was itchy. And yeah, when I finally got a great night's sleep yesterday, he may have snuck past the dog into my elderly mother's bed and purred by her neck.

And sure Snowflake is resting comfortably after horrible surgery and purring when ...

Agree. All of a sudden this evening I was seeing posts of what he's doing, two days, barely, post election. He has been planning for a year or more. There are binders and tabs and OMG he is going to cause splody heads all over this land. I LOVE IT!

553 Churchill had a C96 Mauser pistol.

Known as the "Broomhandle Mauser". I would dearly love to have one of the first year models, because it would officially be an "antique firearm" in Canada, and not subject to any licensing bullshit. But at $3000 or more, not much chance of me getting one.

559 Maybe, but he carried a 1911, which he loved.
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at November 07, 2024 09:56 PM (d9fT1)

Well, the C96 preceded the 1911 by 15 years, so he would have used the Mauser for a while before the Browning masterpiece came out.

562 entries in the Churchill papers cast light on their acquisition. There is an account dated 1 November 1898 from John Rigby & Co for: ‘£15 2s for two Mauser pistols and ammunition [supplied in 1898]’. The two Mauser pistols are recorded as serial numbers 4257 and 2373 (with an individual cost of £5 5s each; the rest of the order was made up of 1,000 cartridges, a tin-lined cartridge box

Pre 1911.

563 The back of my ywo story brick house is covered in Virginia Creeper, but the leaves appear tighter in the pectured building. I'm thinking it is Boston Ivy?

I could be way, way wrong but the color looks like creeper. Most ivy stays green year round in climates like Scotland/England and my Deep South. That color is what I've seen here. In the mountains, oaks turn red first then the golds and some orange aspens. The crimson reds nearby in trees are creeper.

He, more than anyone on the planet, knows exactly how deep the rot goes and he has the stones to fight them. The very least I can do is support him.
