If you can be shown to have permitted a bad ballot into the system, then the ballots from your area cannot be added to the total. You can have a special election, later, for your member of the House. CNN isn't "noticing," they are in on the strategy. The Harris strategy (like the biden, obama, and even clinton strategy before her) is that she relies on voters not believing what she says.
She wants Jews to think she is just cowtowing to muzzies for votes but will support Israel like all dems mostly do. She wants muzzies to think she is a radical but has to cowtow to Jews for the election.
This works because both sides think that their position is the only rational one, and that any rational Democrat would support them even if they say otherwise during an election.
CNN is just making sure no one starts to fear that maybe it is not a lie. She *wants* these groups unsure of her position so they can imprint their own onto her.

Right. Micro-targeting can work *extremely* well, but not if the micro-targeted messages are in direct contradiction. It's too easy to catch that now. The same technology that makes micro-targeting possible also makes direct contradictions in those messages easy to spot.
Doing it to send your tax message to groups who care about taxes and your social message to groups who care about social issues is fine. Doing what Harris' team did is stupid.

Obama was a master at speaking in ways that were ambiguous but that both sides of an issue would find support in.
Biden got picked because he agreed to be radical, but his long history reassured the non-radical Dems that he would be "moderate."
Harris can not speak, and has no history. She has to explicitly tell both sides of every issue that she is on their side. This relies on trust that they will believe she is lying. This sounds crazy, but the Dems have the support of media and the strategy of convincing the public you are lying for votes has worked for them for years. It may be the one innovation obama brought to politics.

He issued an emergency stay as he is over the 3rd Circuit as supervising Justice. Elections head in PA ignored it by ordering the ballots mixed. Scotus ended up with egg on their face. Don't think that even Roberts is not vindictive toward little people in state gubmints that ignore the majesty of Scotus.
That in part is why Sup. Ct of Pa ruled as they did. Those ballots can be 'cured' but not counted. By ruling as they did, lower court state court judges have to follow what big brother tells them so you don't get the rogue county issue.
GOP is playing better lawfare this time even with stacked courts having to grudgingly give them some wins this time.

Maybe, but fair use is always a bit of a gamble because nobody really knows what it means in practice. I've seen cases where the original material is all but copied and pasted, and judges said "looks like fair use to me." Other times, I've seen examples of what looks like genuine fair use, but infringement was found.
I could imagine campaigns wanting to avoid the issue completely.

LOTS of people get assigned to combat zones and according to the military and VA that makes you a "combat veteran." But the people who were in the military know there is combat and there is combat. I know people who were in a unit that was deployed to a combat zone but their specific place of duty was South Carolina - they became combat veterans because of that. But anyone who was in that unit who would have said "I fought for this country" as a result would have been laughed at.
Not because we demean anyone's service. Well except for sailors. But anyway, anyone who serves in the military could, at any point, get whisked away to a place where their life is in peril. So, good on all of us for that. And then you get deployed somewhere, and that somewhere is a combat zone, it becomes a lot more proximate.
And then there are those guys who were in the shit. That doesn't necessarily mean Tier I Operator (or whatever crap they say) it means like my buddy who was public affairs and got blown up in his Hmmvw in Afghanistan.
He should have stuck with combat veteran. Technically and legally true.

Blame the Italians. Blame the French. The Italians had some word for 'column commander' that the French bastardized into Coronel, which the Brits then bastardized to Colonel, but kept the pronunciation.

I think "commodore" is one of those inactive ranks the USN doesn't use any more. Trek used it neatly, having Commodore Decker outrank Kirk for plot purposes. Decker was clearly painted as the commanding officer of the ship the Doomsday Machine nearly killed.

Commodore is if you are the ad-hoc leader of a fleet of ships, but only ranked as Captain of your vessel. So you don't have a different rank like an admiral would. That's the Royal Navy rule. Rank ends when the mission is over.
I think in the USN Commodore is an official rank, or used to be
Another fun fact about rank is that when Marines are on a ship any Captain of Marines is referred to as Major to avoid being called Captain, there's only one on a ship.

When I was stationed at Quantico in the early 70's, Fredricksburg was a sleepy backwater that you could drive to in less then 20 minutes. Last time I was up that way, it took over an hour to drive from Quantico to Fredricksburg. Locals told me that was a decent time. Going north into Woodbridge was even worse.
