Police detected a pulse on homeless man Jordan Neely after he was put in a chokehold by Marine veteran Daniel Penny, bombshell new bodycam footage reveals. The video became public today as Penny's manslaughter trial began in Manhattan. NYPD officers arrived on the train at Fulton Station at 2:33pm. Two police officers confirmed that Neely still had a pulse when they arrived. “I got a pulse,” one said. A second police officer confirmed that he too felt a pulse. Neely was unconscious, lying on the subway car floor.The police did administer Narcan to try to reverse Neely’s apparent drug overdose, and then paramedics arrived 15 minutes after the police, with Mr. Neely still alive. A NYPD Segreant testified as to why none of his team performed mouth-to-mouth on Neely.
“He seemed to be a drug user…he was an apparent drug user. He was very dirty. I didn’t want them to get… hepatitis. If he did wake up he would have been vomiting. I didn’t want my officers to do that.” “He was filthy. He looked like a homeless individual. You have to protect your officer, I wouldn’t want my officer to get sick if the person throws up,” he said.This trial is a disgraceful prosecution of an American hero for defending innocents in a pro-crime jurisdiction. Until New York stops coddling criminals and prosecuting crime victims, it should be considered an unsafe place to travel or do business.

Hertz's ambitious pivot to electric vehicles, initially hyped as a game-changer, is now a $1 billion headache. The fallout is realized EV values are tanking, repair costs are climbing, and a shortage of spare parts for damaged Teslas is making matters worse.JP Morgan sees no prospect for Hertz to turn a profit until 2026 at the earliest as Hertz tries to clean up the EV mess, nor does it see Hertz having the capability of generating enough cash to service its debt at any time in coming years, with “no positive free cash flow in sight.”
Hertz is in for a tough slog. The firm's three straight quarters of Earnings Per Share losses and mounting headwinds signal a longer-than-expected recovery. When I go out to Detroit to see my daughter, Budget Rental Car tries to saddle me with an EV because I always do the "Managers Special" because it is cheaper.
I always tell the counter person that if they give me an EV, they better have a tow truck on standby. I don't have anyplace to charge it.

This is technically true of gasoline, too. I suspect it’s true of any source of energy powerful enough to propel a reasonably heavy vehicle relatively long distances.
The difference, however, is that lithium batteries necessarily can detonate themselves. Gasoline requires an external “spark” to detonate. And because of the way electricity operates and electrochemical batteries operate, it is logically impossible to separate the sparking mechanism from a lithium battery.
The fact that one of the catalysts for getting lithium batteries to detonate themselves is literally the most common substance on Earth is just icing on the Bad Idea of the Century cake.

Something funky happened maybe a month ago with the Amish in PA. Some local/state Democrat official arrested an Amish guy for selling, iirc, unpasteurized milk and the like. Also, possibly including folk remedies, I never got the details.
Long story short, The was a kerfuffle about the Amish voting straight R in response. The guy was popular with the locals, and the Amish, if nothing else, really insist upon being left alone.

Momentum is not something you should need to be talking about after weeks of failing to dominate early voting.
It's going to come down to swing- state judges who will extend voting hours in Dem-run counties only. No school like the old school.

I'm an legitimate HR practitioner. I am waiting for a hospital system in my state to do something like that for one of my employees. It happened to an employee not on our plan I had to help. When it happens in my plan, I can get all the info, and I'm going to do what I can to blow them up in our state. If I get a few docs de-licensed in the process I'll consider that at least one good thing to put on my ledger when St Peter does his review.

To someone that actually understands the power rule, confidence intervals and their application, understands sampling techniques and its limitations, and can intelligently discuss how outliers affect overall aggregated polling measures like RCP averages, then they pretty much are bullshit unless you take one pollster that uses consistent sampling and measures and track them solely. Then you may have an idea bout trends but not necessarily about how votes will come about.
That rules out those that do not understand math of probability, cannot apply statistics, and have no understanding of research methods.
So, for most people polls are pretty much bullshit and especially so when you have addlepated media types discuss them as they literally know nothing and are lower in morality than the game shills at the carnival.

And, since I'm against overbearing governmental action, I say it get treated like undeclared campaign contributions.
Whichever side they biased, they are fined for undeclared in kind campaign contributions. Something like $10,000,000 per tenth of a percent outside a reasonable margin of error, say, 2.5%...per data point.

Map is expanding rather than contracting and RNC is far more on top of cheating techniques this time.
The cheat will have to come from absentee ballots which I haven't seen much on sent out versus received. EV collapse for Dems and unless history runs opposite, election day voting will be strongly GOP. That leaves absentee ballots as the only paper cover for any fraud and even that gets risky if the numbers don't match.
Direct vote insertions are probably not going to happen en masse this year unless they truly want something bad to happen. Those are votes that have no existence beyond an electronic phantom but the easiest to challenge and prove fraudulent.

In 2020, Biden won by tens of thousands of votes in a handful of states.
In 2024, tens of millions of Democrat ballots (roughly 17 million) are missing while Republicans are voting early at about the same level as 2020.
So, the assumption that Republicans will turnout at similar levels on election day this year seem pretty solid. They're not underperforming significantly from last time.
Democrats, though, are missing tens of millions of voters. Will they, having skipped opportunities to vote by mail or early in person for weeks, suddenly decide en masse to vote in person on election day when their pattern for decades has been to vote early?
We'll see!

Map is expanding rather than contracting and RNC is far more on top of cheating techniques this time.
The cheat will have to come from absentee ballots which I haven't seen much on sent out versus received. EV collapse for Dems and unless history runs opposite, election day voting will be strongly GOP. That leaves absentee ballots as the only paper cover for any fraud and even that gets risky if the numbers don't match.
Direct vote insertions are probably not going to happen en masse this year unless they truly want something bad to happen. Those are votes that have no existence beyond an electronic phantom but the easiest to challenge and prove fraudulent.

Going to be in state courts this time. Part of the issue is that Roberts had precedent on his side when they ruled in Texas v. PA case. No case like that had ever come into the court under its original jurisdiction for one state to sue another over voting. It was always a high risk maneuver but one made because the GOP as an organization did not support Trump in his legal battles or even politically by announcements of supporting his claims of fraud. That includes the state legislatures and officeholders at the time run by the GOP that time, WI, GA, PA, MI, AZ, etc.
The real story of 2020 is how the GOP and specifically the RNC sat on their asses while Trump was getting nowhere in the courts. Compare that with the eager lawfare that the GOP engaged in with GWB in 2000.
Candidates by statute and common law to sue during elections. States, not so much.
Don't take distortions by the media (including allegedly conservative media) as gospel nor the doomers here.
Trump may lose possibly but the massive cheat done in 2020 is simply not available due to lack of Covid and the mass of absentee ballots for the cheat.

Me, personally, just fine. The area is still a mess. I doubt things will ever completly recover. Tired to death of bottled water. We still get 3 robo-calls a day warning to boil the water, and three repeats...in Spanish.
I counsel myself that I should be grateful that bottled water is available. Hickory,NC sent up a tanker semi with potable water. I still haven't run into a FEMA person, but hundreds of volunteers from other states have been here with sundry organizations, supplies, clean-up labor.
Tree workers from Canada, police from other states supplementing the locals. Saw a Louisiana State Hwy Patrol taking care of a fender bender.
Had a worker up from Texas (they are from all over) who said that he had never seen a community that pulled together like this. Churches and their members have played a major role in organization and providing facilities.

SoS of Georgia has about 90k absentee ballots sent out that have not be returned and counted. Cannot request new ones as that deadline has passed.
Same in PA, it has today 203016 absentee ballots sent out to Dems, 127741 to GOP, and 76839 to Other that have not been returned.
Doomers are by and large lazy people and they watch/listen to the media too damn much. Shut that shit off for digestive and mental health reasons.

That is down over one million absentee ballots from 2020.
Wayne County (Detroit) has about 80 percent of its absentee ballots in (309k returned, 383k requested).
