That girl hunter is going to have to pay for the cow. Not sure, but how much is a cow worth? I think dairy cows are pretty expensive because they are an ongoing source of income. Boy cows, the cost may depend on their weight. When I was in 4H the kids who raised cows auctioned them at the end of fair week, and they got quite a bit. They considered it college fund money.

Posted by: Blast Hardcheese at November 01, 2024 10:03 PM (V362x) I don't know what the answer to this ridiculousness is. Perhaps people need to start suing for 7 and 8 figure amounts - like Trump is doing. And if it comes down that they are 'immune' - well that's a problem that needs to be rectified too so these clowns can be held accountable. They do this stuff because they CAN not because they should. There's a difference. We need to make it clear that this is not a proper use of our tax dollars. It's All Saints Day
Posted by: GWB at November 01, 2024 10:06 PM (E8qwH) Tomorrow's All Souls' Day. Back when I was altar boy, I had the 7 a.m. Saturday Mass on 11/2, not realizing the day. So I get to Church about 6:30 to get ready and Mass is already going on. The priest sees me, gives me a nod to get changed and come out. I come out just as he's giving communiion. When the Mass was over, the priest asked what plans I had. I said none, really. He then told me he had to do 3 Masses, and 'I'm it'. So I did two more Masses with him. The next priest who came in to do his 3 saw me and said, 'You're not leaving'. So I did another 3 Masses. When I got home, I had a story for my Mom who wondered where the hell I was. Mass was only about 1 and 1/2 hours, with prep and cleanup. I was at the Church for about 4 hours, being the altar boy for 5 and 1/2 Masses. I don't know if that's a record but it should be. And...again...as with many people in the northeast they just can't put together that who they vote for leads to these policies. Would Zeldin have picked a different head for the department? I don't know. But if NY had elected Zeldins for the last 20 years I guarantee NYS wouldn't be doing this crap. Also - they'll kill your pet for jollies - how much do you think they value your life? I want them in jail, for prior bad acts ... before they get up to the murdering stage. I hope they went into the store and are visible on the interior cameras, and then even if fuzzy on the exterior cameras, the police can identify them. I suspect the shooter (or shooters) will already have a criminal record. The only good news is that a 9th grader took a shot in the femoral artery and the people in the crowd saved him. They threw him in a car and had someone hold direct pressure on the wound and drove him straight to the ER without waiting for the ambulance. I would be shocked if there are ay exceptions for livestock-killing critters and even if there are, it's probably worded ambiguously enough for prosecutors to fck over people if they want to. CO was already stupid about these critters 20-odd years ago (heard a story from someone who had a bobcat issue).

Democrats taking over Colorado know nothing about "nature" works.
I have been trying for years to increase the quail and pheasant populations at my farm, with little success. Then I started seeing bobcat tracks and scratch logs, and finally caught one on a game camera. At the same time, I used to see 40 "barn cats" on my nearest neighbor's porch and property. (Which means he probably had 60-80.) Over the next year, all of the barn cats disappeared. I do not know if the bobcats considered them to be competitors, or if they were just an easy meal. However, if you let bobcats overpopulate, then you are going to have a lot of cats and small dogs disappear from the "city" folks. If you let mountain lions overpopulate, then you will even lose some children. P.S. My quail and pheasant populations are increasing. Apparently, one family of bobcats does much less damage than 60 feral cats. Posted by: Pillage Idiot at November 01, 2024 11:10 PM (HlyYF) 226

Doggone. It was cold here today, all day. Fog all day long, never saw the Sun. 26 degrees all day long. I dressed warmly, and spent a couple of hours in the shop, and managed to get the transfer case out of the crippled Suburban, which was tricky, because the front drive shaft is securely stuck in its splined socket. Will likely use penetrating oil, heat, and a bigger hammer to try and budge it.
And the T-case will not mate up to the 4L80E transmission I was planning to use, so on to Plan B: rebuild the pooched 4L60E. Parts are ordered. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at November 01, 2024 11:37 PM (0KMBH) 301

Delightful ONT - the title raises an interesting debate. Every Spanish teacher and every person from Mexico that I've known insists on calling the multi-day observance "Día de Muertos," and call the "los" part of it an unnecessary addition. But every time I've looked at the grammatical side of the matter, it doesn't really change the way the word is translated, with or without the "los." So, what does one go with? Me, I'm rather impressed that Pan de Muerto is a common and tasty dish during the celebration. "Bread of the Dead" is the most Metal-sounding non-Metal name one could contemplate.

We have a flock of wild turkeys that pass though the back yard most mornings and evenings. The kids we had visiting from Uganda were enthralled with them. But, the most awesome item they saw was screens in the windows. They asked what they were used for. I explained to them it lets fresh air in while keeping out flies and bugs. They had never seen such a thing and told me flies are absolutely a plague back at home and there huts are filled with them.

What exactly was Ron Paul supposed to do? Individual members of congress seldom manage to steer the institution. Same people dragging him now likely treated him as an eccentric the whole time he was in office; most people did. Everything's relative. At least when Paul's compared with the average GOP congresscritter, he could articulate some actual conservative ideas and seemed rather sincere about it. That's more than be said for most of those timeservers. Why does no one broadcast Kammie's work history and experience? She says she'll match it up to anyone else's. Kammie, a Harvard grad, gets her first job as a lawyer. Just one lawyer of many, nothing special. At 29 (5y? exp) she meets Willie Brown Appointed by Willie to a CA State commission. Appointed by Willie to a different CA State commission. In both cases, her experience level looks at least 10 years low. Willie arranges a job in the SF DA, office. Kammie is soon transferred/demoted, then quits, sues, and loses. Willie gets elected SF Mayor, and Kammie's back. Wait, she was demoted ...??? Kammie is elected to SF DA. Next, Kammie is elected to SF AG. During this tine, about 1500 black men had their sentences extended by Kammie. Why? One man is convicted of murder...? then exonerated when it was proven that the prosecution withheld proof of his innocence. Instead, the CA Democrat Machine rewards Kammie with the position of US Senator from CA. Which lawyers were disbarred and given 15 years? No one? How? Kammie was involved. But John Woo's original 1989 "The Killer" is a thing of beauty that bought him his ticket to Hollywood from the world of Hong Kong cinema. It's inspired by that one French movie that people who hate French movies actually enjoy, Jea-Pierre Melville's Le Samouraï. Posted by: AmericanKestrel at November 02, 2024 12:01 AM (PcTds) I liked Twitter 2012-2020. I was banned almost exactly four years ago for “disinformation” for sharing the Hunter Biden laptop story. I checked it out again after Musk bought it and freed everyone and it seemed to regain some of its old charm. The media is so full of it, though. Twitter always had Nazis, commies, pedos, furries, lunatics and terrorist stans. Prior to covid and the 2020 election it was pretty free-wheeling and they only really cracked down on covid “disinformation” and “election denial”. There’s no way it can have more Nazis and white nationalists now than it did in 2019. Posted by: Disinterested FDA Director and Pfizer Board Member at November 02, 2024 12:09 AM (FC8SQ) 372

Lol, not that I know of, here. Back home we have grouse, good call. I suppose the turkeys at my parents place would work too, if it didn't upset them(parents, not turkeys) too much. Japanese with English sub titles. The horror movie I was going to watch didn't have sub titles. Which I have grown to love. I've watched a lot of foreign horror films and for western stuff, there's always whispering and I like to keep the volume at 8% for new stuff. 5% for stuff I know or when I'm trying to get to sleep. My friend would come over and we'd watch 'Sherlock.' Volume level 18. Good because of the English accents but so much louder than I'm used to. We went to see "Avatar 2" in the theater, my first movie in a decade. Part of me thought to bring earplugs which I slipped in. Fuck, was the volume loud. With earplugs!! Insane. I think a better word is unwanted. Many people including people here didn't believe that Biden got 81 million votes in 2020 but it was easier to just accept he did than to fight against what we were told to believe by unseen forces. AKA, our government. This election has never been close in the real world. No serious person believes the VP who was historically thought of as a DEI failure 4 months ago is now super popular and capable of being the President of the United States of America. It's all manipulation. Our intel community has been running color revolutions for more than 60 years in foreign countries. It's a big game of RISK for them. We're in a tanked economy in a world with wars breaking out everywhere, with a "president" who is now widely known to be senile and a Dem nominee who is known to be a dullard. I cannot see this happening. There is too much America in too many Americans to allow this. Now I'm out 🌛 Posted by: AmericanKestrel at November 02, 2024 01:53 AM (PcTds) I don’t think it will be necessary. The court cases will be used to pressure Trump to call it quits after Kamala is declared the winner. (This is the real reason the cases have mostly been delayed until after the election.) And he’s done more than enough. He doesn’t owe us anything else, so he should take the deal and let someone else take over MAGA. Imprisoning Trump would be very provocative with no real payoff. It’s better for the uniparty for him to call it quits and ride off into the sunset. They don’t need a martyr.
