Definitely a good time for a prayer revival. I'm scheduled to go help out at church this morning during their Saturday morning prayer session.
Also, our church experienced a water main break yesterday that flooded the lower level. (Main sanctuary seems to be OK for now). So it created quite a mess and the children will not be attending their Sunday School classes tomorrow. Posted by: "Perfessor" Squirrel at November 02, 2024 08:37 AM (BpYfr) 13

Bailey is a grey tabby we found on our back porch a few years ago. Recently he had a recurring UTI which seems to have finally cleared up. Very grateful thanks to all those of you who contributed financially. If you take your car for a problem and the problem reoccurs you take it back and it gets worked on until it's fixed and at no extra cost. Why don't doctors and vets work like that? Yes, we can take meaningful action and vote, but obsessing on the news plays into the hands of the Enemy, who is having a ball right now. God wins. This is the truth. Perfesser. Water break at our family center this past Spring after -32 temps. What a mess. Remediation and repair took over 2 months. The only thing that had to be removed and replaced was the sheet vinyl flooring. To do that 90% of the kitchen items had to be removed, anything that the vinyl was under. Ruined fish fry season for the Knight's of Columbus and stopped any new rentals from being booked. The new floor is nice and that's the only positive to come from that mess.

One of our drill sergeants had a wooden staff, which he used to point and prod the recruits (this was in 2000, when they were really cracking down on fraternization). He set it along the wall and was talking and it began to fall so the platoon guide caught it, and a second later the sergeant exploded with "DROP IT!" It clattered to the floor, and the platoon guide stammered that he was trying to catch it. "DO NOT EVER EVER TOUCH MY STICK! THE FLOOR IS CLEANER THAN YOUR FILTY NASTINESS! DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?" For instance, where I live now, for a renter to take possession of a property, it has to be under a very special, reasonable status that takes many years of specific circumstances to attain, that virtually nobody would object, because all interested parties aside from the State and the renter are dead or incapacitated. This virtually never happens. That law has dust and cobwebs on it.

> When I tell people how things are out West, they just straight up don't believe me. Even about tame, old-timey insanity like squatter's rights, let alone any of the new-fangled hypermadness.
------- Just this past summer there was discussion in the KY legislature about beefing up laws that dealt with squatters. The left went about demonizing the effort, saying it was "anti-homeless" and directed at illegals and the poor. The actual motivation was the amount of property damage and theft being done by these squatters. The property in question typically was either a farm, or some other property with acreage. The squatters were killing livestock, pets, making a mess, destroying structures, etc. Plus they typically had no clue about sanitation. It was horrible. So, KY started to look into the forcible removal of squatters on private land. That was what the left was jacked up about... that someone would be able to remove people from their own property instead of being forced to permit them to stay. So, KY started to look into the forcible removal of squatters on private land. That was what the left was jacked up about... that someone would be able to remove people from their own property instead of being forced to permit them to stay.
The Left in Portland's county a couple of years ago proposed a county capital gains tax to provide "free" legal representation to tenants and squatters facing eviction. Yep, if someone squats in your house (which happens in Portland), the county would provide the squatter with a "free" lawyer to fight any attempts to kick the squatter out. (You, the owner, would not get a "free lawyer", of course.) Amazingly, this was a bridge too far even for Portland, and the proposal was voted down decisively. There is quietness here, a murmur there, a murmur that take away the inherent aloneness that come from traveling without companions. Another murmur is the Saturday morning prayer list which I take time to read with care as often as I can. It always a moment for reflection that travails are equal partners with joy in life. For those that are on today's list know that your murmur is heard and that the inherent aloneness that comes from traveling with travails is not quite so alone.

There are instructional videos on YouTube explaining how to squat in a house in Portland (changing the locks, changing the utility bills, creating a fake rental agreement, et. al). Although the issue here in KY with regards to squatters hasn't resulted in any new laws that I'm aware of, the fact that land owners could forcible remove someone squatting on their land was just too much for some people to comprehend.
In some cases there are legit reports of squatters slaughtering cattle or horses, pets and setting fire to various structures. These are not simply "homeless" souls either. They're typically strung out on drugs, transients and criminals that slipped through the legal cracks. In the deeply rural areas I doubt it's much of an issue, but outside of the larger population centers it is. Posted by: Martini Farmer at November 02, 2024 09:46 AM (Q4IgG) 154

MisHum, I saw Joe Bonamassa's band again in Tucson. When I say again I mean like I have every year for the last 15 years or so, sometimes multiple times, and most certainly all over the western US. This version of his band dispenses with horns and drives right into the heart of 1960s British Blues-Rock. It is all rather spectacular and is a perfect vehicle for Mr Bonamassa to run wild which he does. Unlike his previous bands, which felt like a front man with side men, this is a legit band and he relishes in that interplay like I've never heard with with other versions of his ensembles. Additionally, they have been now has been playing together for a number of years and they are crushing it these days. If you haven't ever seen his band, this would be a good one to see.

Religious people are terrible at politics, and Right to Lifers in Michigan had basically become GOP kingmakers, since their endorsement usually decided the primary election.
Result: only the most extreme "no exceptionis" candidates got the nomination, and under Roe, it didn't matter. And then it did, and the GOP got thumped. Even now idiot Catholics are banging on about "punishing Trump" because we're supposed to hold the line and just keep losing forever. How about educating people, converting them? The SCOTUS decision on abortion was a giant step. And properly made whether you're pro life or pro baby murder.
But, we're now in the baby steps phase. That means getting political feasible restrictions like the French, and simultaneously working to change the culture. That takes a lot of time and money. RTL needs to recognize this new environment and FFS try reading the dang Constitution. They won a major battle but the rest of the war is going to be guerilla warfare. So win your small victories The Church needs to recognize the new situation and react with public moral clarity. I don't think it's too much to say that if you've had an abortion, your spiritual situation is such that you must go to confession before receiving Communion. Things like that. Maybe even banning Communion for those supporting abortion. Etc. New world, people. Adapt. Posted by: naturalfake at November 02, 2024 10:51 AM (eDfFs) 280

Posted by: This is fine at November 02, 2024 10:56 AM (bflL --- Yep. Move incrementally, converting people through the long haul. Start out with medical arguments, explain how miscarriages are different, and how abortions to save the life of the mother are very rare. At the same time, roll out legislation to cut the cost of childbirth, push tax reforms so more women can stay home with their children rather than day care. We can completely outflank the Dems on this, but no one is doing anything. Basically, ban late-term abortions and include rape, incest and life of the mother exceptions. Also require reports on how prevalent these are so we have solid numbers. When Michigan passed CCW reform, the State Police were required to keep stats on permits that were revoked. This was supposed to discredit it, but it actually showed how law-abiding they were. Let's do the same with abortion - track those special cases. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Banning late-term abortion is popular if you include rape, incest, and life of the mother. So pass that. Then you work away at the edges. And just for the benefit of everyone where, Whitmer got re-elected because the GOP nominee went on TV to say she supported zero restrictions on abortion, even rape, incest, life of the mother and it was played on endless loops. forWAR'd: ctHARRIS and the War on Normal People.
Never Forget -- She wouldn't change a THING! As the World was reduced to the state of a log tumbling end over end down the Raging Rapids, it's people reduced to little more than ants clinging to it for their very Lives, as the desperate and deliberately Evil, our Leaders proclaims themselves KAPTAIN! To Reign over the Rubble rather than Rebuild from the Ruins they must first Reduce the World to Rubble, reduce people to be willing to settle for less. And wouldn't Change a thing? https://tinyurl.com/IceKingJOE https://tinyurl.com/IceKingJOE-forWARd https://tinyurl.com/IceKingJOE-NotChangeAThing where's the 25th amendment now? remove IceKingJOE Nov6th. "This is fine" is Scogg or one of the other flouncers.
Abortion is always xis shtick. Loves the idea of baby-killing for whatever reason or just wants to troll. If you see a new nick esp on the weekend flogging abortion, it's xer. Just ignore. Posted by: naturalfake at November 02, 2024 11:36 AM (eDfFs) 319

OK. Let's shut up. Let's capitulate to the pro-abortion position.
And when you lose your medical license for not performing an abortion? When a hospital loses its certification for not permitting abortions? When you're arrested for praying outside a clinic? Shall we capitulate to that as well? Only dead fish go with the current. Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh Asswipes like this person will never get how the game is played. Only people with a death wish would vote for ctHARRIS -- being no better than a Chicken voting for Col. Sanders.

Are you referring to Hadrian as 'an asswipe'?
Posted by: grammie winger - cheesehead at November 02, 2024 11:47 AM (SfhV1) I wondered the same, but pretty sure he's referring to the guy Hadrian is responding to. Posted by: Polliwog the 'Ette at November 02, 2024 11:49 AM (s9EYN) 325

Posted by: grammie winger - cheesehead at November 02, 2024 11:47 AM (SfhV1) I would never do that. I was referencing his answer. As I re-read my post, I can see the confusion. Posted by: Mr Aspirin Factory, diseased garbage human at November 02, 2024 11:50 AM (dR6yv) 326
Oh. Got it! Thanks!

I am a more verbal person, whereas other people can convey their thoughts much better through writing.

in 2020 Democrats had a 1.1 million vote lead in early Pennsylvania voting. Today the lead is only 400,000.

I concur Harris is so5 embedded in the Communist ideology she has no knowledge of the American way of life as We Know It. Maybe I could chalk it up to her father having major influence over her education who knows but she doesn't know what she doesn't know that's another point she is a dangerous individual
