30 "CEO Jim Farley is still confident in the company's strategy around electric cars."

That's the guy who drives a Chinese EV:

Ford’s chief executive revealed that he drives a $30,000 Chinese-made electric sedan — and got ripped by critics, who called it a “slap in the face” to employees of the Detroit-based automaker.

Farley, who has been CEO of Ford since October 2020, said he drives a Xiaomi SU7, an electric sedan that retails for $30,000 that he had specially flown in from Shanghai. Introduced in December 2023, the SU7 is the first EV sold by Xiaomi, the world’s second-largest seller of smartphones

“We flew one from Shanghai to Chicago, and I’ve been driving it for six months now and I don’t want to give it up.”

Neither one of us are dancers.

But did you know that at Jewish Orthodox events, men and women do not dance together out of modesty. There can be exceptions, such as when we ourselves make a child's wedding and we dance along with our chidlren.

As for the wedding this past week, many of these events start off leaving a lump in your throat, due to mentions of related soldiers who fell or are injured and the presence of widows, orphans and wounded.

103 I will admit though that I’m now worried after having confidence for the last week.. the latest RCP averages have Harris slightly ahead in WI MI with Trump only slightly ahead in PA (where the cheat for Harris will I suspect be epic)… I also see early voting in PA favors Dems so Trump needs huge Election Day turnout there….. this all makes me very nervous that they’re setting up the narrative for another steal…. I’ve even heard extensive talk from fake news about that now it’s Harris and Dems that under poll (no more shy Trump voters) and how it’ll take a week to count ballots in the swing states…. All this sets up a narrative that allows them to steal it again. We wouldn’t allow that madness to happen again? Would we?

163 By Sunday morning, both Harris and Trump will know which states they have won in the early voting states as some 2/3 of the vote will have been cast.

In 2020, I watched Trump's last stop in WI. It was at like midnight on the Monday at some small airport (remember how they wouldn't let him hold rallies in the cities?).
It was his usual speech, with his usual energy, Pence joined him, but at the end it closed with a feeling of "well, we've done all we can but pray now."

As much of a gut-kick by a mule that loss was, so much has changed since then. Look at how many enemy agents have been exposed and left the Republican Party. All of them were tirelessly working to sabotage conservatives. And all the bright minds of former opponents we've brought in. But, biggest of all, Pence is not the nominee.

Probably true, at least to a point. If the industries there pivoted entirely into cheap migrant labor, then the loss of cheap migrant labor is going to have consequences.

See also: restaurants, meat packing, construction and various other industries to varying degrees by locale.

Nobody said that dealing with the border and kicking out illegals was going to consequence-free. The price will be worth what we have to pay. Defending the culture, way of life and undoing the destruction of a generally peaceable society is worth it, but it *will* impose costs that must be borne.

Numbers aren't as important as the prevailing narrative in the media, since that gives us an idea of what the deep state is going to do. In 2020, we were hearing a lot about the "Red Mirage", that the Republicans would at first appear to win but that the mail-in vote counting would dispel that. Now, we're hearing all about Harris supporters being undercounted on CNN and NPR, and about women voters breaking for her without the polls indicating it. The narrative framework is set, they're going to steal it. If they were talking about the possibility of Trump winning and preparing the battlespace for "resistance", we'd know the cheat was called off, but they're getting more confident, not less, in this last week, so none of us should have any illusions about what's coming.

That's a huge problem, and it happens lots of places that VRBO/AirBnB operate, too. Sewer systems are built with density assumptions, which is one of the reasons tax rates are often tied to number of bedrooms.

Bedrooms imply people, which implies waste, which affects waste infrastructure. If you assume based on historical norms that occupancy will be something like n+2 average persons per bedroom (5 persons normally in a 3-bedroom house) and build your infrastructure to match it, your infrastructure will crack up if the reality turns out to be n*3 (6 persons normally in a 3-bedroom house). The sewer system in particular is going to have serious trouble, though garbage likely will as well, at a higher threshold.

This is the AirBnB/VRBO problem. That four-bedroom cabin being rented out as a 12-person flat for a week at a time really does matter at scale.

Additionally, there are a few million people whose votes were counted four years ago who didn't vote, and because of the decrease in mail in vote opportunities will not have their ballots filled out this year.

    ========

I need to keep making this point:

The 2020 cheat wasn't done last second. The last push of it was, but it was laid out and prepped for months ahead of time. They used the vote by mail mechanics to flood SoS offices with millions of fake ballots for months ahead of November.

That doesn't seem to be happening this time. Democrat early voting, especially by mail, is heavily, HEAVILY down this year from 2020.

The D narrative around that is that everyone who did that is going to return to voting in person, but 2020 was the highest turnout election in American history. The people who made up the difference between 16 and 20...don't vote. If they voted by mail in 20, it was the first time. There's no "returning" except to not voting.

So, either massive very low prop voters are just not showing up, or the cheat has missed the first 50 steps taken in 2020.

They could just outright steal it again. They're shown repeatedly that they're willing to do it and then brag about it.

But something's missing this time. Very big pieces are just absent. Either they bought their own BS about 2020 and thought it was genuine, or they've been shut down, or they're just going to go full France and say, "Trump is not allowed to form a government."

According to The Tax Foundation’s summary, Trump proposes lowering the corporate income tax rate from 21 percent to 20 percent, or perhaps to 15 percent for domestic production. Further proposed cuts include making permanent the individual and estate tax cuts of his 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

These cuts would reduce tax revenue and increase the deficit.

PDT said the 2017 tax cuts would pay for themselves in 4 years. It was actually 5 with a year of Covid in there.

    352 Good morning good people.

Today, the Church celebrates all her holy ones in heaven, known and unknown, with the feast of All Saints. The solemnity originally began in the 4th century to commemorate all the Christian martyrs killed during those centuries of brutal persecution before Christianity was legalized. There were so many martyrs that a separate feast day could not be given to each one individually, yet, the Church did not want to leave any martyr without proper veneration. A common feast day developed and was usually celebrated in the Easter season. In the 8th century Pope Gregory III consecrated a chapel in St. Peter’s Basilica to all the saints and moved the feast day to November 1st.

    Rest easy Matthew.

    Gaslighting.

My daughter is seeing a therapist for some anxiety issues she's dealing with. She told the story about her lesbian roommate (one of the 3 roomies she has) that has decided that everything wrong in her life is my daughter's fault because she doesn't succumb to her every beck and call. Therapist tells my daughter she's being gaslit and not to fall into the trap of being called a bad person and believing it.

She's not a fan of the lesbo anymore. "If this is what lesbians are like, I don't want to be around them."

Actually, he is very wrong, I surround myself with the strongest of women - With the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong. This guy is such a fool, he’s constantly on Television being critical, and only for the reason that I tuned him out completely while President because he called incessantly. I told him, very pointedly, “Look Mark, I’ve got a lot of things to do, I just can’t be taking so many pointless calls from you.” In any event, that affected him greatly, because he’s a very insecure guy, and a MAJOR LOSER, always has been and always will be! Nobody likes him, nobody respects him, and he’s unattractive both inside and out! He should go back to talk about the person he was forced to support, because I didn’t want it, Lyin’ Kamala Harris. The cheat was easier when people ignored what was happening. Now, a majority believe that the last election was stolen. Some states have cleaned up voter rolls and will likely be okay this time. 455 450 Discouraging people from voting is another form of the cheat. I am not saying anything is in the bag. I am saying there are a lot of differences this election. The cheat was easier when people ignored what was happening. Now, a majority believe that the last election was stolen. Some states have cleaned up voter rolls and will likely be okay this time. PA is still a mess but we have a lot of people watching and working there this time.

Just get out and vote! Take as many as you can in to vote. Let's at least send the Dems a message they can't ignore.

461 I've read about some of the fraud being "outsourced" from one state to another. So, a company in, say AZ prints up fake voter registrations for PA. Or WI outsources it's ballot printing ops to NV based joint.

It's all done to escape oversight. It may very well be "legal" to print up bogus voter registrations in AZ as long as they're not being used in AZ.

This is just an example and not something actually being done... although it might be.

464 Halloween was a bust in my 'hood. Eight kids, total. Bummer. Last year it was around 15, the year before that was closer to 30. I like seeing the costumes.

And on that note: go long on that "Wednesday" show and its starlet. Between trick-or-treating last night and other things I saw around ("trunk-or-treat" things, etc.) earlier in the day, princesses and superheroes are finished. Done. Goose cooked.

Harry Potter is still in. Plenty of cops and doctors as usual. But the number of dark/gothic (and often ludicrously elaborate) Addams Family type costumes, especially on girls, was off the charts.

What TRUMP said: "Dick Cheney's daughter is a very dumb individual. She's a radical war hawk. Let's put her with a rifle standing there with 9 barrels shooting at her, let's see how she feels about it when the guns trained on her face. They're all war hawks when they're sitting in Washington in a nice building saying "Oh gee, let's send 10,000 troops into the mouths of the enemies.' She always wanted to go to war with people. I don't blame Dick Cheney for sticking with his daughter, but I was a little surprised that he didn't come with me. She's a bad person."
    - - - -

One thing they still don't understand it that part of Trump's secret appeal is that he says the things a lot of people only think, or only say around close friends/family.

Yes, it's brutal, and somewhat menacing -- and yet, who's been calling Trump a Nazi, a traitor, an insurrectionist that must be punished to the full extent of the law (i.e. executed)? Who's been leading the charge?
Liz Cheney. Trump's simply bypassing euphemisms and legalese.

    >Navy’s discharge of Biden’s son sheds light on military discipline BY Michael Doyle - MCCLATCHY Washington Bureau, October 17, 2014

In part, "Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter forfeited certain veterans benefits as well as some privacy and pride when he was booted from the Navy, reportedly after testing positive for cocaine.

Other service members have fared arguably worse for similar offenses, including sailors sentenced to jail time after testing positive. But Biden’s newly revealed Navy separation, while higher profile than most, also appears to be within the general range of expected outcomes given the alleged offense."

In ten years, has anything changed positively for, in the military for the non-elites?

Kamala is still a terrible candidate, there has been nothing positive about her campaign, Biden trashed the garbage meme by allowing Trump to campaign from a garbage truck, and even Mark Cuban stuck his foot in his mouth. Since she has nothing to say on policy except to say she will not recognize any exceptions for personal convictions on abortions (which has no support) and she loves DEI (which also has no support) what has changed? Nothing.

Nothing in early voting supports a Kamala surge. There is no enthusiasm in her voters. It all comes down to how well can the RNC, who appears a bit more competent this time, fight off the steal attempts. Even the typical silliness in Detroit in Michigan is being off set by the fact it isn't happening much of anywhere else in the state. The other thing - Harris has pulled almost all ads out of NC, and shifted them to Virginia. RCP has closed in NH and put Minnesota into a tossup. Does that sound like a Harris surge? I respect Atlas's work, but even they have blue wins inside the margin of error. Be positive, get your friends to vote. Say some prayers.
