Here's what Chat GPT says about TA and "Karens":
Can Transactional analysis explain why "Karens" get under our skin? ChatGPT said: Yes, Transactional Analysis (TA) can help explain why "Karens" might get under our skin by examining the dynamics of interpersonal communication. In TA, there are three ego states: Parent, Adult, and Child. When someone behaves in a demanding or entitled way, like many "Karens" do, they may be operating from a "Parent" ego state, which often comes across as controlling or critical. This can trigger a defensive response in others, often activating their "Child" ego state, leading to feelings of frustration or helplessness. The interactions can feel particularly grating because they often involve a clash of these ego states—someone in a strong Parent mode asserting authority versus someone in a Child state feeling attacked or belittled. This dynamic can escalate conflicts and create a cycle of irritation and misunderstanding. Recognizing these patterns can help us respond more calmly and effectively, rather than reacting emotionally. Posted by: pawn at October 30, 2024 05:50 AM (QB+5g) 50

Triggers my adult ego state. Karens are in their demanding, entitled child ego state. They grate on adult ego nerves as "someone else's snot nosed brat kid". W.C. Fields said it best, "Go away kid, you bother me".

Going with this, I've said a number of times that the physical bubble of DC, the beltway consciousness, needs to be broken. Move the FBI to Tampa, the EPA to St. Louis, etc. The is no need for all these jobs to be located in one area. The current Federal government currently sees the country as "DC Uber Alles".
