Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Kamala Harris's Answers In Her CNN Advertising Opportunity Were "Word Salad City," Says... Obama Campaign Director David Axelrod and Racist Agitator Van JonesBelow: First Fox & Friends runs the clip of Kamala's latest tossed salad, and then David Axelrod says she can't answer questions without going to "word salad city."
There's more butthurt whining and obvious anger about Kamala's poor performance here. At around 7:00, Van Jones melts down about Kamala Harris being "held to too high a standard" -- I mean, he's mad that she's not getting the DEI courtesy promotion. Before that, Whoopie Goldberg makes the same "they're not giving the black woman the soft treatment we demand" complaint. Remember, what they're complaining about is that Evil White Racists expect a Strong Empowered Black Woman to be able and willing to just say what she actually believes. They find this to be too great a burden for a Strong Empowered Black Woman, and want people to vote for her just because this privileged public school whore lies about "growing up in a middle class household." She continues to avoid saying she'll build a wall by just repeating that Trump didn't build much wall -- forgetting that Democrats blocked his efforts to build it.
The Biden administration is quietly auctioning off millions of dollars' worth of unused parts from former President Trump's border wall for peanuts -- in an apparent end-run around pending legislation in Congress. Since April, GovPlanet, an online auction house specializing in military surplus, has sold 81 lots of steel "square structural tubes" -- intended for use as vertical bollards in the border barrier's 30-foot-tall panels -- hauling in about $2 million. On Tuesday, GovPlanet netted $154,200 for 729 of the 28-foot-tall hollow beams, sold in five separate lots for an average $212 apiece. Thirteen more lots are set to be auctioned on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. But just last month, as part of its annual defense appropriations package, the Democrat-led Senate passed a Republican-sponsored bill aimed at forcing Biden to stem the worsening migrant crisis at the US-Mexico border by extending the wall. Up to $300 million worth of taxpayer-funded wall components have been left to rust since Biden came to office, Republicans have said. The Finish It Act will make the feds use those materials on new wall construction -- or hand the remaining stock over to states like Texas for use in their own border defense projects. Now, the Biden administration is rushing to get rid of the wall leftovers before the GOP-led House can pass a matching version of the bill and make it law, critics told The Post. ... Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) called the fire sale "reckless." "Our borders continue to be overrun by an unprecedented number of illegal immigrants, turning every district into a border district, and compromising our national security," Stefanik said. The GovPlanet auction schedule picked up markedly in May, when Wicker first introduced the Finish It Act, and increased again this month, days after the Senate's defense bill passed on a bipartisan vote. A DOD spokesman identified the tubes, held in an outdoor storage lot in Pima County, Ariz., as "excess border wall materials." "The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ... has already transferred approximately $154 million worth of the roughly $260 million of bollard panels and other materials," according to Lt. Col. Devin T. Robinson, who used Defense Department lingo for the process of consigning military surplus items to commercial resellers or the trash heap.Millions of dollars in steel bollards to form the structure of the wall sold for... $212 a piece. Profits from the sale flow back to the Pentagon's budget. But GovPlanet is under strict instructions to keep the border-wall connection hush-hush. "We are legally not allowed to mention these are the border wall materials, or we could lose our jobs," a GovPlanet source told the Daily Upside, the financial newsletter that first reported the ongoing sales. And while the lot listings scrupulously avoid identifying the tubes' original purpose, viewers of the company's Instagram page weren't fooled. "Good for building a wall," a user called honest_jake wrote Aug. 3 under a GovPlanet Instagram post touting the sale of "industrial steel tubing" -- an entry that was deleted from the social media site Friday. "Why don't you put that up instead of selling it," added Brian Prewitt. "This is why tax payers are just about done paying taxes." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

"Why did you only implement border controls in 2024, that you could have implemented in 2023, or 2022, and in fact closely match what Trump already had in place?" The real answer is 1) Trump bad so we rescinded everything he did day one. 2) oops we fucked up, but now immigration advocates won't let us back down. 3) Ah fuck, it's 2024, if we have any hope of being re-elected, we need to cut the number of illegals. I suspect that Kamala has been having a huge crisis of confidence since she was nominated, and is constantly eating loads of mood elevators and other feel good drugs and washing them down with Vodka. She gives the appearance of someone who’s playing a part and is desperately afraid they’re about to be found out.
Back when I was starting my career in science, I always felt like the idiot in the conference audiences. There were lots of people who were clearly much smarter than me, so I was very reluctant to ask a question and reveal myself for the idiot I was sure I was. As I aged, I figured out that I wasn't really the stupidest guy in the room, and that most people felt the way I did. As my career reached its end, I was always surprised that I seemed to know more than most of the audience and had little trouble answering their questions, because I had anticipated them. Kamala never had the seasoning process that I went through, and never had to develop the skills needed for her chosen career. I'd be nervous as hell if I were her. We had our roof replaced after a hail storm in February. My understanding is that the age of ours, about 20 years, was a factor in the repair / replace decision. Well, that explains it. A man that, by trade, can only live off the labor of others. What does a lawyer produce ? Nothing. One lawyer in any village starves to death. Now - two lawyers in a village might figure out how to skim off the till. Lawyer is one of those trades that, quite literally, produce nothing. No good or service that is durable. If you watched any of Donald Trump’s recent rally in Butler, Pa., you probably noticed Elon Musk beside him — jumping, jiving, arms raised, belly bared — and wondered what in the name of Tesla the chronically overstimulated gazillionaire was doing. Impromptu aerobics? A cheerleading audition? Charades? If only. Musk, I fear, was previewing a second Trump administration — in which Trump would embrace and embolden a crew of self-impressed eccentrics and ideological outliers who are happy, even eager, to make confounding and fawning spectacles of themselves.
... I seem to remember a few eccentrics at the beginning of the 1st term. They lasted about 6 months. Of course, this is the Times saying that Trump MUST have the Harvard and Yale experts to run the government. These were the ones that wrote the books disparaging Trump later. ======== America did it to itself. That constitutional amendment process is long and hard for a reason. America really wanted it because it was supposed to just hit the rich. Posted by: TheJamesMadison ===== Income tax was first instituted during the Civil War by Lincoln and Congress. From Justia, "The first tax on personal income was not levied until the Civil War. In 1861, Congress and President Abraham Lincoln imposed a 3 percent tax on annual incomes over $800 to finance the Union war effort. This tax was repealed in 1871. . ." A re instituted income tax law was held to be unconstitutional in a court case Pollock v. Farmer's Loan and Trust in the 1890's. The amendment overturned the Scotus decision in the 1890's involving the definition of a direct tax. Posted by: whig at October 24, 2024 03:34 PM (ctrM5) 450

The reinstituted income tax was "An act to reduce taxation, to provide revenue for the government, and for other purposes," passed August 15, 1894,. . . a tax of two percentum on the net profits of said company for the year ending December 31, 1894, above actual operating and business expenses, including the income derived from its real estate and its bonds of the city of New York. So, a corporate income tax was at issue here not personal. Pollock was one of the directors and stockholders and was suing to prevent payment by the 'bank' of this tax to the IRS.
But, the definition of direct tax in the opinion, more or less, banned individual income taxes as an unconstitutional direct tax as defined in a very old Hylton v. U.S. case in 1796. First actual use of judicial review by the Court (they affirmed that the tax was legitimate in this case but clearly stated if it was not that the Court could hold it invalid). Another fun thing about Hylton is in the seriatum opinions of the time, Justice Paterson discussed debate in the Constitutional Convention over the direct tax language. He was there as a delegate from NJ at the time. Truly originalism in its purest form. Posted by: whig at October 24, 2024 03:43 PM (ctrM5) 516

All taxes have negative impacts, which is why government spending should be far lower, but income taxes are among the worst.
Posted by: 18-1 at October 24, 2024 03:30 PM (oZhjI) You get less of what you tax, so it is a good thing we tax income. Posted by: Kindltot at October 24, 2024 03:56 PM (D7oie) 545
it was also supposed to end the eternal fights over the tariff that were considered, even then, as a side issue for the civil war. The Southern states did not want to do that again, and the Northern and midwestern manufacturing states were also hit by them
Posted by: Kindltot at October 24, 2024 03:54 PM (D7oie) It actually is funny that one of the few non contentious bills in the time leading up to the Civil War was a change in the tariff rates. Transcontinental RR, induction of new states, all had huge issues but they had gotten used to on both sides to interests getting some relief that it went pretty smoothly. The 1820-1840 time was when tariffs were the big pill to swallow. Posted by: Oldcat at October 24, 2024 03:59 PM (n7h9X) 546
Kamala is a creation like Barack. The smarter (and, perhaps, more aggressive) Harris daughter actually appears to be sister, Maya Harris (mayaharris dot com), married to Tony West, a powerhouse in his own right. (Maya had a daughter after high school - the father not revealed - and was a single mother for a considerable period of time.)
Also, Maya L. Harris Joins Arcus Foundation Board of Directors, December 11, 2017. Michigan billionaires John Stryker and partner Slobodan Randjelović are Board President and Founder and Board Member, respectively. ACLU Announces Jon L. The Inaugural Advisory Council, President's (ofbnp) Advisory Council 2012-2013, included Fred Davie, Senior Director, The Arcus Foundation. -- The Chronicle of Philanthropy, 'Progressive Foundations Brace for Trump Administration,' By Alex Daniels, 12/19/16. The income tax, direct election of senators, women's suffrage, and prohibition all went together. Income tax and prohibition were politically tied together. With prohibition there was a massive hit on federal govt revenue which, even at spending levels back then, had to made up somehow. Hence the income tax.

We're going to turn this corner, whether the car is on fire or not.
There are still enough Americans who aren't ready to be slaves. The Doom Sniffles Hysteria was a dry run to see how many were ready to be slaves and we know it. This dumb whore isn't the one who is going to drive the last nail in America's coffin. Imagine going on trial after CW2 and admitting you were taking orders to fire on American citizens from this dumbass broad? Not going to happen. Maybe soon, but this isn't the bitch to get it done. Team Oblahblah cannot allow The Word Salad Shooter to remain within the margin of steal because the title of first black female president rightfully belongs to Mooch '28.
They're pissed that President Potato waited so long to drop out that they couldn't jam Mooch into the candidate slot, and they were forced to install The Word Salad Shooter as the candidate. Posted by: p-squared at October 24, 2024 04:38 PM (0prFs) 552
This isn't word salad, it's ignorance with words.
30 years ago, I was given a complete BS curricula to be promoted, and I wrote a huge treatise without ever touching on any particular subject involved in the "requirements" of the promotion, but the thing was. . . There wasn't any requirements. The HR Dept, left it broad enough that there really was no application requirement, because the only thing more than lazy normal people, the only ones more lazy are HR. So I wrote a complete nonsense long worded, yet invoking application. A friend of mine want the same spot, asked me what I did, I showed him my application and he said, "I'm fucked! You said nothing, but I think I know it!" These people without actual skills think that the representation is important. It is, for promotion in a company that will start laying people off sometime the day after they trusted you with authority.
