FAFO Theatre Cafe

I spelled "Theatre" the classy way (TM).

quokkahugs.jpg

Slow news day.

The out-of-controlness of bears can no longer be swept under the rug.

Nice rack.

Mixed meow-tial artist vs. boxer.

Another cat chooses violence.

A little race.

Little dog is a Kamala fan.

Steve Inman FAFO award winners:

Picking a fight with a former Golden Gloves amateur titlist.

Picking a fight with a McDonald's security guard who took the job just for this moment.

Moped bandits in Paraguay get ram-ifications from a truck.

Ram-ifications for actual election thieves in Mexico.

Highway bandits f*** with a guy with a gun who's been training for just this opportunity.

Lizzo dances in traffic during a "street takeover."

Green protesters rage against the machine and the machine rages right back.

Some real content-warning stuff in this one as a some bandits get shot to hell and a cell-phone thief runs out into the middle of the road and meets Knight Bus, the Bus That Fights Crime. Serious caution, the bus really wipes this guy out.

My favorite one:

Call Space Ice, we have a new Jean Claude Van Damme.

36 Bear in Yosemite look in cars, if they see brightly colored things they will peel open the door like a sardine can. They will test bite anything - we were cutting trail in a remote area of the Sierra and at the end of the day simply left the tools and chainsaws and 2 gallon plastic gas cans. Bear came across the site and chewed on the gas containers.Yum!

An old gold miners trick is to smear peanut butter on cans of aerosol non-stick cooking spray and scatter them around camp. Bear test bites can, gets surprised, and runs away.

So when you hear a Stuka Siren in movies, and it's not a WWII movie with Luftwaffer involved, that sound effect doesn't belong there.

For instance, a Cessna 172 or a Beech twin-engine should never make a stuka siren sound as its plummeting towards the deck.

It's really kinda sad we lost not just the excitement of going to the movies on the weekend but also the fun of renting a movie for the weekend.

Then gather the food and the snacks as everyone got together to watch the movie.

194 About 12 years ago I was checking out the gunz section of the Scheel's store in Sparks, NV (first time in a Scheel's, impressive store). Talked with a young clerk a bit, we were in the reloading section. I couldn't help but notice his name tag, and last name, "Earp".

Of course I asked. Yep, he was directly related. Said his father had been flown somewhere (LA?) to sign various papers related to a movie (which one, I forget, Tombstone or the other one, or maybe another one prior to those).

Kinda hard to beat a clerk in a western gunstore with that name.

277 Holy buckets:

JUST IN: Tulsi Gabbard announces she is joining the Republican party at a Trump rally in North Carolina.

The move comes after Gabbard left the Democratic party, calling it an "elitist cabal of warmongers."

Gabbard said one of her main reasons for joining the party was because of Trump's "strength to fight for peace."

"I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party."

"I'm joining the party of the people, the party of equality, the party that was founded to fight against and end slavery in this country."

"It is the party of common sense and the party that is led by a president who has the courage and strength to fight for peace."

Wyatt Earp

I took my kids to a CO dude ranch about 12 years ago. While they duded (loved it), Dad sat in a rocker on our cabin porch & read a SCHOLARLY bio (footnotes; original sources, etc.) of Earp.

It was fascinating! He lived into his 80s, IIRC. He spent a total of 2 years as a LEO, in various places.

What'd he do the OTHER 78 years? He described himself as "a merchant in pasteboard and ivory, mostly," i.e., cards and dice.

A typical frontier/boomtown saloon (he worked in dozens of them; owned several) had a bar in the main room, a gambling parlor off to the side of the bar, in a separate room, and (very often/usually) girls upstairs.

Earp was always in demand as a gambling room boss, because he was VERY good at keeping everything friendly! VERY good indeed. Troublemakers found themselves out in the street before they knew there was a fight.

Earp also worked at prizefights as a celebrity referee. He was a delegate to the GOP national convention in 1920 (1920, IIRC).

The dime novels made him famous but not rich.

445 A most merry assortment of visual delights assembled by Herr Ace. Some of those individuals could throw a punch almost as hard as Ayn Rand. Pray note the "almost" portion there. Pope Benedict XVI elected to retire upon the mere rumor that she, as he put it, had beef with him. It was actually Benedict Cumberbatch, whose take on Doctor Strange really pissed her off, but a bit of caution with things Randian is never a bad idea.

Werner very much liked the concept of Knight Bus, and wonders if David Hasselhoff could be persuaded to come out of obscurity to reprise his star-turn with K.I.T.T., as that would be most epic. And ja, it is true that, as Norm Macdonald of blessed memory so often asserted, that the German people really like Hasselhoff.

Why, though, you may ask? It is difficult to explain, as much of it is tied into his musical career (it actually existed, trust Werner on this one), yet it is more than that. Our regard for him is so great that we allow him to believe that he occasioned the collapse of the Berlin Wall. The reality is much less inspiring - an attempted reboot of Benny Hill that went awry. Werner shall one day tell this sad tale.

Napa is more bitter and I think they just used the plain old cabbage cabbage. Tho, I think they probably washed it in acidulated water and spun dried it before serving.

So I've mentioned that I watch old reruns of game shows. Well, one I just watched had a contestant that worked for the denim company, Faded Glory. This show was from the early 70's...I had no idea that company was that old. I remember that brand in the early 00's at least.

no she was saying they wouldn't have arrived in time and somehow our laws say if they come in from outside the US the deadline doesn't count (we have a supposed deadline for mailins ballots having to be in by late on Nov 5)

so ok we used to have military ballots that would come late but now they're using that scenario and saying we have tons of PA citizens who live abroad now and are mailing in their ballots and they will be late

and somehow she estimates this to be 25 percent of the electorate or so she said! my head exploded.

so this is the cheat they're doing now. and they will hide behind the military vote to do it

As has been noted, Pa has over 700k of what it calls, inactive voter registrations as part of it's total voter registration.

What's an inactive voter registration?

Beats the sh*t out of me.

What it means though is that they have a reserve of over 700k potential ballots.

And being that nobodies going to audit any of this sh*t means they can generate any result they need.

Hence the statements of it's going to take weeks to count the ballots.
