Mark Halperin: The Re-Election of Trump Would Result in "the Greatest Mental Health Crisis in the History of the Country," As Leftists Literally Have Breakdowns and Pick Fistfights at Work and Even Divorce Their Spouses

It's at 1:55:00 below. You can expand the post to see the chapters -- it's the last chunk listed in the post.

Let's face it, this started in 2015. As I've said a hundred times, we currently have the highest level of nervous breakdowns in this country's history, almost all going undiagnosed because the psychiatrists had nervous breakdowns too and insist that it's "healthy and normal" to obsess about Trump 24/7.

During the interview Halperin also explained why public polls may overstate support for Harris. He says that public polls are done as quickly and cheaply as possible, and that the pollsters don't really care if they're accurate or not. They're released for publicity. They just want any results they can use for self-promotion

Private polls, like the leaked Kamala Harris polls (if they were indeed her polls), cost a lot more because the candidates want to know what the numbers really are.

He said the big problem here is that the easiest Democrats to get on the phone and answer a survey are more educated, wealtier gentry liberals -- and these people are solidly for Kamala Harris. It's more downscale voters that support Trump, and the pollsters have trouble finding these people and keeping them on the phones. So they just want to hit their Democrat numbers, without much concern for what kind of Democrat they're reaching.

This, he says, is skewing the public polls. They're not randomly calling all Democrats -- circumstances and penny-pinching cause them to mostly poll Kamala's strongest constituencies while not contacting her skeptics and even opponents among Democrat voters.

13 Chuckles McTodd says NBC polling picked up on a trend I haven't seen mentioned before, and he mentions it in a paragraph discussing Nate Cohn's statement that PDJT may win the popular vote.

What’s interesting is how much smaller the Democratic lead is in “blue” states in 2024 compared with 2020 and 2016. In 2016, Trump lost the core Democratic states by 22 points, and in 2020, he lost them by 24 points. In this most recent poll, Trump was losing the core Democratic states by only 13 points.

You can see this in registration data of most blue states that track party at the same time.

NJ saw a giant bloom of Republicans. Democrats are flat.

That's not uniform across all states (CO, for instance, is a little more Democrat than it was in 2020, but not by a whole lot), but the trend is pretty clear.

Republicans are expressing their desire to vote by registering. Democrats are expressing their lack of enthusiasm by not registering to vote.

If Trump wins, he a guy (still) with no free sex change, with a lesbian wife who's not interested in icky male parts.

His background and Biden getting booted off the ticket are also good, if not a little biased toward a functioning process rather than a coup. He broke the story and is happened shortly after.

Polesters also 'adjust' their raw data to reflect what the supposed Dem / Repub divide is, and base that ratio on Published Registered Voter data...

Now, it seems that virtually all of the bad voter registrations we find (multiples living in one house, or votes registered at businesses, or illegals registered) all lean Democrat? So thousands of bad registrations skew the ratios of registered voters... making it appear as there are more Dems then there are, and thus also skew the Poll data.

56 Didn't we have all that idiotic drama in 2016? Yeah think so. Meh.

While all that is embarrassing for the country, what it denotes (the incredible practical stupidity, ignorance, and hate delusion of so many) is a problem.

An even bigger problem is that the GOP is unlikely to be materially any less of a problem than 2017-2020. People were discussing Mitch in the last thread. Remember: Mitch, who is one of the most damaging (for the country) public figures of recent history, is the easy, repeat selection of the Senate GOP caucus.

This is *who they WANT in charge*. Rule by EO*, pushing the envelope to dubious lengths on gray area stuff (like wall funding, first term), use of whatever plenary inherent power in national security and foreign policy isn't effectively hamstrung or diluted by lawless courts - this is what's in store in Term 2.

* of course the judiciary has beclowned itself spectacularly on this, with the bottom line being that Trump EOs (and straightforward use of unquestioned inherent authority) are subject to lawfare or worse, while laughably illegal and outrageous EOs (like Obama's DACA nonsense) are preserved

69 I listened to this entire interview last night while playing College Football on xbox. Fascinating stuff.

Basically he lines up the swing states as follows:

Nevada: probably Harris (unless the election really is a blowout then Trump takes it)

Arizona: likely Trump

Georgia: closest of the sunbelts, because suburban women might be "shy abortion voters," intending to vote Harris but not wanting to say so because their reason is baby murder

NC: likely Trump, but he admits that Harris is pushing hard to win it, harder than even Georgia, so they may be seeing something that no one else is

WI: pure toss up; it's been swinging both ways for a month. No way to know as of now

MI: likely Harris, but he admits Harris has a lot of problems with arab voters, and if they protest and sit it out, Trump could take it, and likely will if he's winning everywhere else

PA: likely Trump

He also says that basically Harris' only hope is that there's a shy abortion voter, a suburban white woman vote that isn't talking but is

I suspect that Mitch will stay. If he doesn't he'll get replaced by a lieutenant like Cornyn.

However, that doesn't mean that the Congress will be nearly as obstructionist as they were in 2017. There will be no Russian collusion, at least none that they'll be able to latch onto in year 9 of the Trump effect on the GOP.

They'll have to work with him and make a show of it. They'll stymie him where they can, but it will be much more down low than before.

81 You can see this in registration data of most blue states that track party at the same time.

96 When your source of information are networks who lie to you, and other people who have the same sources, we call that confirmation bias. Psychologically, even if you hear a differing opinion you become apt to dismiss it as truthful because your mind has been trained to reject it. There is a complete absence of intelligent, informed scrutiny that would under normal circumstances lead to the truth. This is a bigger problem for liberals simply because it is the main tactic Democrats have used to keep them from fleeing. That is because most of their arguments fail basic, truthful, real debate or fact checking. That creates an unhealthy alternate reality and can lead to psychosis. Conservatives don’t largely have this issue because they have been forced to speak in facts and truths to prove their arguments or use them as a basis for their policies. It’s quite the contract. It’s cult vs society.

133 8 National Polls Released in the past 2 days. I wouldn't fret about that. 7 show a Harris lead of at least 3%, the average margin of those 7 is just under 4%. Marquette poll is the outlier showing a tie. (Intrepid- the Marist poll with her winning by 5% had a +7 Dem weighting, for context.)

We'd be popping champagne already if not for the electoral college. But because of that, we will be coming down to the wire.

It won't be as close as the media wants us to believe. Check the fund raising records. Harris is doing spectacularly better than the orange headed buffoon, including PAC money. Citizens United has blown up in the Republican's faces.

Last time a candidate was outraised by this much, per capita, Ronald Reagan won a landslide.

With all the republicans vocally coming out in support of Kamala, this will be a landslide victory for Harris.

Trump tops 47% only in Marquette poll, Harris is at 50% or more in 5 of the 8, 49% in 2 others. Her low mark of 47% corresponds to Trump's top mark in any of the polls except Marquette. I always love when she hits 50% + in polls. Closest to a sure win...

They got away with it in so far as most of them are still in power, but they've significantly reduced their own ability to rule in DC.

Paul Ryan convincing a loyal cohort to retire from Congress in 2018 didn't make the GOPe stronger, it led to the situation where Kevin McCarthy, idiot, thought he could rule the House like McConnell runs the Senate which led to him getting booted and replaced by a handful of gadflies.

The newer generation of Republicans are much more loyal generally to Trump than to any leadership. Trump has taken control of the RNC and its ability to fund candidates directly.

A lot of the institutional pressure on the GOP backbenchers has been redirected from the GOPe to Trump, all while the GOPe tried to weaken itself to power.

We're not going to get a barrage of great legislation, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a border wall funded within six months of a Trump inauguration.

176 It's a legit mental health issue with a lot of people. I don't get it. And I don't like being the old man saying "when I was a boy ..." because I'm only 41. But here we are.

When I was a boy, we had real problems, as all people always do. People would get seriously ill. People would fuck up with their drug dealers and get in deep trouble. People would lose jobs they needed. And so on.

But back then, we'd do the necessary. Seek treatment for our family member, or pistol whip that buddy's drug dealer, or try to hook that guy up with a job. We didn't have nervous breakdowns about these shitty things, and they were imposing themselves directly in our lives.

Now, people both young and old just melt the fuck down when the particular gangster they theoretically prefer over the other gangsters loses a gang fight in DC. They don't just leave a pop star or movie catamite off their list when he goes against their beliefs... They feel sad about it and emotionally exsanguinate. Again, and so on.

I think people with no personal challenges are just externalizing their anxieties on shit far away from themselves.

And generally speaking it is these kinds of women that use shaming tactics as a means to control the people around them. Their only source of power in life is to henpeck others into submission.

The biggest thing is no Chinese flu. It was an excuse to massively waive rules on mail-in ballots, enabling who knows how many fake ballots to be injected into the system on an industrial scale with no oversight. The rules are largely back in place and from all appearances, the Republicans aren't rolling over to the rule waivers like they did 4 years ago.

Second, there has been some serious voter roll scrubbing. It's still bad in a lot of places, but there have been millions of dead and moved voters taken off the rolls, compared to 4 years ago. Again, this makes the cheat harder to pull off.

Is it perfect? Of course not. But 2020 was an outlier in that the pandemic set up a rare opportunity to pad the count by the millions. They don't have that for cover this time.

I still think the steal will be so obvious if they pull it off that it will create a national political crisis. If TJM is correct about NC, it will be an early night. But you can also add to this list the hundreds of thousands of inactive voters that have been purged from swing states; e.g.,100k+ in NV, 700k+ in NC.

Yeah, that's another big thing.

A few states have done it, and they're going to be wiped off the "swing state" column for a decade before anyone thinks about them like that again. DeSantis created the model (actually, it might have been the OH GOP, I think they did it first, but DeS always gets the credit), and other states are following suit.

Imagine a PA GOP legislature forcing through election roll cleanups.

There is, I think, the very real possibility of a real insurrection with armed Antifa and BLM in the streets and Democratic Party pundits and politicians harnessing that rage and cheering them on. Deep blue states such as California and Oregon will make secessionist noises. Thousands of recently arrived, military-age male 'immigrants' will activate. From early on, my take was if Trump was losing by say under 2-3 points (or better) he wins. That was my shy Trump margin.

391 As I have said before, my vote was stolen in 2022. I went to my polling place on election day and was told I had already voted by mail-in ballot. I never requested a mail-in ballot and never received one, much less voted by mail. This year I voted in person at the county court house annex on the very first day (long lines, I may not be the only one in my county whose vote was stolen). Also the ballot paper had no UV watermark as it should have (Dominion machine - checked the paper with a UV flashlight). They are going to cheat! Vote now! Make it a landslide!

476 Speaking with Tucker Carlson, political journalist Mark Halperin believes if Donald Trump wins back the presidency in three weeks, it will “cause of the greatest mental health crisis in the history of the country.”

Near the end of their two-hour discussion (which is well worth listening to), Carlson says, “Let’s say Trump wins three weeks from today. What happens? … As you said, a lot of Democrats believe that Trump becoming president is the worst thing that could ever happen.”

“I say this not flippantly,” Halperin explains before adding: ”I think it will be the cause of the greatest mental health crisis in the history of the country.”

478 Funny thought - the fact that will cause a mental collapse for Democrats is, in fact, the exact reason they are going to lose this election.
