I'd like to go on record stating that H G Wells was spot on. The reason we will never inhabit another planet (and the reason we will never get an in person visit from any other species out there) is because "visitors" would not have the immune system to deal with all the viruses and bacteria.
Just take a gallon of good old earth sea water. In a single gallon you will find 10 to the 35th power viruses and bacteria. And, unless your species was here for a length of time to develop a natural immunity to most of it...you're screwed and so is Marvin the Martian. The only planets we can likely got to and live are ones where nothing is growing, and nothing will ever grow. In short Billions of dollars to go see the biggest ball of twine in the Midwest. The fan thing brought back a memory from many years ago when my little brother was maybe 5? He had bunk beds and you could reach the ceiling fan from the top bunk. My sister and I put all of his underwear on the blades and turned it on full speed - it sent underwear flying. We then decided to do this with stuffed animals, which was also fun, but it messed up the weights on the blades making the whole thing wonky. My dad came up to his room and wondered “why in Sam Hill is this fan messed up?” We were shocked that my brother didn’t rat us out.

The full-throated support of the Democrat party by Big Penguin is motivated by the desire for world conquest and domination. They have publicly stated their devious goals, and the capture of power within the most dangerous party in the country is just one step in achieving that end. The pretty propaganda masks a mephitic evil that must be stopped.

Another day 1 for Trump...all federal abortion criminal and civil laws need to be suspended, pending the House and Senate officially repealing them...and all pro-lifers arrested and jailed for protesting abortion clinics need to be immediately released.
It's no longer a federal issue. Thus, the feds have no federal jurisdiction on the process anywhere. And all prosecutions and penalties have only ever gone one way, so stop playing the game and repeal ALL the laws for this issue. It's a state issue and should be one in all things... It's not ferromagnetism that generates the field, it's actual electric currents. The rotation generates convection currents which produce electric currents. Mars had a pretty big ocean in the ancient past. It would've be in the northern hemisphere, which is the lowest below "sea level" for the Areoid (heh).
Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (w6EFb) at October 16, 2024 09:42 PM (w6EFb) there should have been a big lake at Hellas, too. The Northern Ocean would have been mostly ice, though. Posted by: Kindltot at October 16, 2024 09:48 PM (D7oie) 400
Are there brands canned or jarred tomato paste that are a cut above del Monte or Hunts ? I try a couple different kinds, they are admittedly pretty week compared to real tomatoes. I’m sure my recipes suffer because of this. I suppose including fresh garden ‘maters might help some with the flavor but that isn’t going to happen too often.

------ I'm sure there would be enough angry demand in the rest of the country if Quebec held another, that the federal government wouldn't be able to deny it; or it would drive Western provincial separatism and their provincial governments would hold their own ones or threaten to if Ottawa didn't. Common Tater, I like Classico, it is good and it doesn't have sugar in it as a major ingredient. It is also pretty thick, unlike Prego
I tend to use it as a pizza sauce too, so "thick" is important. Posted by: Kindltot at October 16, 2024 09:57 PM (D7oie) 412

In recent decades, there's been a lot of ink spilled on the subject of carrots in chile. Let's face facts: these carrot-boiling freakazoids are a tiny, aberrant fraction of society. They're a threat - but not a prevalent one. They're only real threat to chile is that they serve as a constant distraction from the true adulterant. The one we all face in our own towns, when we sit down to eat. You know what I'm talking about. Tomatoes. Every day, decent, G-d fearing Americans sit down at tables across the fruited plain, order a bowl of chile, and get a bowl of tomatoes. And don't even get me started about beans. Beans! They put beans in it! I'd rather it had fentanyl in it. It's high time we had a national conversation about chile.
