But they served it like a tea sandwich...it had the vegemite and butter and cucumbers, and the crusts were cut off. I think the sweetness of the cucumber cut down the strong umami of the vegemite. Would eat again.

But they served it like a tea sandwich...it had the vegemite and butter and cucumbers, and the crusts were cut off. I think the sweetness of the cucumber cut down the strong umami of the vegemite. Would eat again.

Yeah, we didn't run generator. At the 48 hour point, items in freezer began to soften. I began preps to start generator, and the power was restored. If it was in the heat, we would have been OK due to generator for about a week, max. No fuel refills available.

We still had water. No natural gas.

I showered at the office. It was like camping. But we didn't lose our home.

Food is people or vice versa. We didn't need any constant power, and gas was maintained, which allowed hot water. Otherwise, we used candles and oil lamps. But yeah, not losing freezer goods was our main problem.
