Posted by: andycanuck (CEzQx) at September 18, 2024 09:48 AM (CEzQx)

84 FUN FACT:

"Bucking Bronco"

Oddly, Charles Russell always confused the letter "B" with the letter "F", and-

really hated Spain's Fascist Strongman Franco, but never learned how to spell his name properly.

Furthermore, Russell often confused horses for the Spanish Strongman.

All of this makes the interpretation of his art confusing for both Art Critics and Art Historians.

Now, you know the rest of the story.

It is unclear to me how a manufacturer of plastic food containers will benefit from being digital-first. This sounds like the idiots who invoke machine learning and AI in order to sound smart, while having no idea what any of those things mean.

201 She Hobbit --

A couple selections from Alter Bridge for you as you mourn the loss of your mom. These will likely induce copious amounts of tears, so only you will know if/when you're ready. But they are outstanding songs with heartfelt lyrics. Plus they highlight why I think Myles Kennedy has the greatest make voice since Freddie Mercury.

Continued prayers for you and your family.

282 What killed Tupperware was the easy and immediate availability of not as good -- but good enough -- alternatives at a fraction of the price at the local grocery store. At one time, Tupperware was a sort of middle class prestige product like Avon. That market niche just doesn't exist any more.

We have kitchen cabinets filled with Tuppeware from the 70's (we were married in 1972), and we still use many of the containers on a daily basis. They are very durable compared to what's available today. Plus, in our basement, we have another large box of Tupperware items that belonged to my wife's mom. They were an excellent product.

Although others have mentioned incorporation, this a bit more interesting question. Until the Civil War, you would have been completely correct. But the Reconstruction Amendments, specifically the 14th, changed all that, and effectively made all State legal systems subservient to the Federal System.

It’s the main reason the 14th is known as the Amendment that swallowed the Constitution and rewrote it in its own image.

IANAL, but as I recall it, The Founders wanted some level of Nation Wide rules/laws that established what the Federal Government could not alter.
But since those old guys knew communities (i.e. states) are political entities, they felt that the states could decide "local" laws and restrictions as demanded/approved by the "citizens" of that individual state.

360 349 You know the rules:
crossbows v. longbows;

Ginger/Jennifer or Maryanne/Bailey;
Civil War I.

All other controversial topics must be approved by Ace and Cob Committee.

"Half" paper towel v. "Full" paper towel

speaking of controversial subjects, when i went to mrs. chronda's high school reunion, i found out there is a third way in the toilet paper debate, one that is neither mullet nor beard. the toilet dispensers they had pulled from the center of the roll.

That's why Obama wanted to get rid of the Constitution.
Negative rules, he said. Full of negative rules. He wanted a constitution full of positive rules. Rules that stated what the FedGov could do to you.

365 At this rate, I think it becomes actually cheaper to go on line and buy a real, antique appliance that you know will work for years.

366 I've eaten at Linger in Denver, the mortuary turned restaurant that held the remains of Buffalo Bill on ice, until the states finished arguing about which one got the honor of burying him.

Delicious food and cool atmosphere! They incorporated a lot of the mortuary stuff into the decor.
