First-World Problems...

lostkeys.jpg

Finding a key in some rarely-used drawer and trying to remember exactly what the hell it unlocks is bad enough, but when one finds an entire full key ring...it's maddening!

2 I know mentioned on the RKK Jr thread but I just saw this precis...

Lauren Lee @sheislaurenlee 1h
BREAKING: Joe Biden has ENDED Secret Service for RFK Jr. 🚨

Two days after RFK Jr. declared a "Unity Party" with Donald Trump, the White House has pulled his Secret Service.

Kennedy is still on the ballot in 40 out of 50 states. He did NOT drop out of the race.

Now, after partnering with Trump, Kennedy is a major target.

The empire is deliberately putting him in danger.

Regardless of where your vote lies, this man deserves protection for the bravery he has shown.

3 It gets worse when you finally decide to put all those individual keys you find onto a key ring, and then six months later you find the key ring and wonder WTF???

18 My 1WP was a plumbing leak yesterday. Cold line before kitchen. Installed a new shut off valve before that, a shut off valve that was a refrigerator connection but will use it for a drain. Was 6 solder joints, 1 shark bite connection, 2 shut off valves. Probably bought the solder long ago but didn't pay for the other parts all in my storage. The shark bite was from my dad so decided to try it.

82 From last thread:

Yeah the Foo Fighters are pissed and they are suing.
Turns out there is a long list of artists suing the Trump campaign for using their music without permission, or so they claim. They've issued cease and desist letters.
I dunno, most venues pay for fair use rights but I suppose if you're out on a farm pasture in Ohio or North Carolina it's possible that some details were overlooked.
Posted by: gourmand du jour at August 25, 2024 02:17 PM (MeG8a)

Rush went through the same thing.

They have no none zero case since Trump paid for the rights.

If they didn't want people using their music, they should've held onto their rights. Idiots.

rasmussen has Trump up by 3 and they are polling likely voters, most other polling outfits are polling adults or registered voters. He will probably get a bit of a bump after the kennedy endorsement and he will leap ahead if harris actually does debate him.

rcp also predicts Trump will get 287 EV's with no toss up states. And that is with harris winning MN, MI and WI. They were the most accurate in 2016 and 2020.

Trump actually has a shot at winning the "popular" vote as well and that will pi$$ off millions of people.

But, one of my special treasures is a bunch of old skeleton keys on a ring with a handmade leather keyfob, hand punched with my name on it. It was made by my Great Uncle when I was just a little shaver. He was a farmer and raised and showed horses. Never married. He seemed pretty old when I was a kid, and I don't remember seeing him much, except for when he would come over for dinner since my mom was a good cook :-)

Anyway, I don't get rid of much, but I know what those are and who gave them to me.

My understanding, even some of the "likely voters" polls are not asking whether the person claiming they're going to vote are indeed, eligible to vote.

In other words, illegals and felons are being counted in these polls.

The bottom line for me, if the polls are NOT accurate, and to me it just seems like it's more guesswork than anything else these days, does one believe the actual vote totals, as opposed to the polls, are going to swing toward or against Trump?

Billboard, Music News, August 15, 2024
Kamala Harris & Tim Walz Share Their Love for Prince, Bruce Springsteen & More: ‘I Feel Like a Trip to Paisley Park Is Going to Happen Here’
The duo discussed their respective relationships with music.

(In part) “My husband Doug and I — I’m more of a hip-hop girl, and he’s more Depeche Mode,” she shared. “However, in the Venn diagram of things, Prince he and I love the same. Talk about how Prince was with that guitar, man. I almost know by heart every one of those songs.”

And then came the DNC:
Vibe, Prince Fans Question John Legend’s “Let’s Go Crazy” Rendition At Democratic National Convention
The Purple One is a hard act to follow. By Preezy Brown
August 22, 2024

(In part) “Who the hell decided that John Legend was the perfect pick to perform Let’s Go Crazy,” one person asked. “Don’t do that sh*t again. Sheila E. and that guitarist alone was fire!” Another commenter echoed that sentiment, writing “Let me say this with all the disrespect intended – who the **** invited John Legend & why the **** is he covering The Purple One?!?!” on X.”

161 I assume that they had full rights to the Foo Fighters song. Los Angeles has cursed politics and there is no getting away from that.

Trump has been impeached twice, and if you ask a shitlib EG Olbermann who was the victim in these crimes, they would give you a blank stare. 34 felonies, serious guys. OK did he do 34 bad things or did he do one bad thing 34 times? I couldn't possibly ask a more-basic question, and yet you don't know. You're passionate until your not, and I couldn't ask Sigmund fucking Freud to diagnose that.

Tenacious D (the bald one) was unhappy the sniper missed. But it could have been Dave Grohl opening his idiot yap, he's just smarter, not better.

Always assume Trump is as pure as the driven snow if you can't figure out who did what to whom. It won't be precise and it won't win arguments, but it will give slanderers the appropriate amount of respect and attention.

166 FWP: which rocket launch to watch when two go at the same time?
Complicated. If everything stays as is then the Starlink 9-5 launch will happen at the same time as the Polaris Dawn launch, but from different coasts. Then a while later there will be another Starlink launch from Cape Canaveral. However inclement weather at the recovery site has caused the 9-5 mission to be scrubbed several times.

Just think...

Trump nullified the DNC momentum by forming a unity campaign with a lifelong Democrat.

195 Pulling this out of the old thread:

Years later we did a genetic test that came back he had Dravet’s Syndrome from some gene coding. That is so far the only link between the genetic code and autism. But according to the geneticist that link results in something like only 1 in 20 developing autistic behaviors.

However, I firmly believe that the fever from the MMR vaccine damaged his brain in some fashion.

Posted by: MAGA_Ken at August 25, 2024 02:12 PM (2fIO4)

There is a lot of evidence, even with genetic predispositions, with a lot of conditions, it takes a traumatic experience (of one sort or another) to cause the condition to activate.

I don't know if that's the case here, but I do know much of the research that has been done over the years, to link genes with diseases, is met with confounding evidence that contradicts the attempts to get at cause and effect.

Fox 43, August 22, 2024, As the DNC closes with a consequential speech from Vice President Kamala Harris, the presidential race remains a virtual deadlock in Pa.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — As a crucial week in the race for the White House wraps up, recent polling from Franklin & Marshall College suggests the contest is still neck and neck.

Vice President Kamala Harris leads Former President Donald Trump by just three points in Pennsylvania, well within the poll's four-point margin of error.

A recent Emerson College poll gives Former President Trump a slight edge with 49% support compared to 48% for Vice President Harris.

"Still, neither candidate is at 50%," said Berwood Yost, director of the Franklin and Marshall College Center for Opinion Research. "This race could go either way."
