Consumer Price Index Rises Almost 3% Again, 20% Since Haris-Biden Destroyed the Economy;
Key Democrat Propagandist Susan Rice Ties Kamala Harris to the Economy, Calling Her a "Integral Architect" of Biden's Agenda

Best economy in history, Jack!

CPI: Inflation rises 2.9% year over year with prices up 20.3% since Biden-Harris took office

According to the latest CPI report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Wednesday, U.S. inflation rose 2.9% in July year-over-year, with prices continuing to rise, having surged 20.3% since January 2021, when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office.

Key Details:

The CPI report shows a 2.9% year-over-year inflation increase in July, slightly below the 3% economists predicted. However, this lower inflation rate does not mean prices are decreasing; they continue to rise and have surged by 20.3% since January 2021.

Prices for essential goods and services have seen significant spikes in that time, including gas (+50.5%), electricity (+31.7%), and groceries (+21.6%).

That'll do it!

Economist E.J. Antoni commenting on the report tweeted, "Common expenses for the average American family are up 25% or more since Jan '21; vehicle cost, maintenance, repair, and insurance are particularly bad - driving is now prohibitively expensive for many folks," adding, "Consumer prices have never been higher, but I'm also curious what changed in Jan '21...?"

inflationgraph.jpg

The old spin was that "supply chains" were "snagged." Two years after the reopening of the economy, that spin could no longer be spun, so Biden/Harris changed the propaganda: Now the only reason for inflation was "greedy corporations" jacking up prices. They were simply lying: No corporation was just increasing prices out of greed. They were increasing prices because the costs of their raw materials and labor had all gone up, because the dollars was now worth about 75% of it was before Biden flooded the world with cheap funny-money fake dollars.

Biden-Harris is basically North Korea, but operating out of the White House.

Noted Genius Susan Rice -- she who first injected Hillary Clinton's lie that "a video" caused the Benghazi attack on her CIA base -- apparently isn't aware that the New Propaganda Imperative is to pretend that Kamala Harris had nothing to do with White House policy, except for bringing "joy" and popularizing Venn Diagrams.

She's calling Kamala the Cocksucker an "integral architect" of the Biden agenda.

According to Fox News, Former Biden domestic policy adviser Susan Rice strongly defended Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, describing her as a crucial figure in shaping the Biden administration's policies. Speaking on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports," Rice dismissed the notion that Harris had not been a significant contributor to the administration's agenda as "bizarre and offensive."

Rice emphasized that the policies implemented by the Biden administration, including efforts to strengthen unions and raise the minimum wage, were initiatives that Harris played a central role in crafting. "Kamala Harris has been an integral architect and executor of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration," Rice stated.

These comments come at a time when President Biden's approval ratings are struggling, with recent polls showing his ratings dipping into the 30s on critical issues such as the economy, foreign policy, and immigration. The administration's policies, which Harris has been closely associated with, are facing increasing scrutiny from both the public and political opponents.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre echoed Rice's sentiments earlier this week, noting that there has been no "daylight" between Biden and Harris on policy issues. This alignment, however, has also made Harris a target for criticism. Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt seized on this, sarcastically thanking the White House for confirming that Harris "owns" the problems created by the Biden administration, including inflation and the ongoing border crisis.

Kamala Harris is in, as usual, a compromising position. On one hand, she is plainly DEI Decoration, contributing nothing except for drunken giggling when she thinks "big thoughts" about time, space, and middle school geometry.

But to claim she has any "accomplishments," you have to claim she was an "integral architect" of Biden's disastrous presidency, and that's also... sub-optimal.

Meanwhile, Kamala Kocksucker's basement strategy, counting on proxies in the Democrat Media Regime to campaign in her place, is going as well as anything else Kamala has ever done in her miserable, failure-filled life.

Since then, the inflation numbers exclude costs for things like energy because they are considered "transitory", which unsurprisingly comprises a significant fraction of actual inflation.

20 I read an article (I think from AP) the other day that suggested inflation is going down because consumers have slowed buying as a result of previous inflation.

The same article suggested inflation was low Pre-Covid because corporations were "scared to raise prices" at that time.

Well I don't know where all this corporate courage came from the last four years, but they've now outdone themselves in the bravery department by about 20%.

But hey, inflation under 3% is welcome.
If that number a) holds b) is actually real.
I'm skeptical for obvious reasons.

It's a good thing I had the coupon to soften the blow.

Inflation is running at way more than 3% in the real world.

Tropicana reduced the size of all of their tropicana OJ containers from 54 ounces to 48 ounces but kept the exact same price at least at Walmart. An 11% decrease in size with the same price, that's some serious shrinkflation action and that is not reflected in the government numbers.

157 Another anecdotal bit of inflation news.

Right now, a Wendy's single cheeseburger combo is about $10 where I live.
Back in the middle 90's, I got the same cheeseburger combo for about $3.50
I think in 2020, it was about $7.00
So it's about a 43% increase from $7 to $10, using $7 as the base price.
Butter has just about doubled in price. And on, and on, and on......

Biden admin to spend billions to blunt spike in Medicare drug premiums
The move to protect some older Americans from higher costs would come just ahead of the election

The new premiums will be released in mid-to-late September and could open up the Harris-Walz campaign to a spate of negative headlines. Vice President Kamala Harris has repeatedly touted the Biden administration’s efforts to lower Medicare costs and weaved the idea through her remarks on growing the “care economy.”

But, if it doesn't work out, I'm still available to teach the sitting-on-your-ass class.

389 Taxing personal property is a direct tax, and is a way of making ownership of "luxury goods" too expensive for mere plebs to own. It is a very anti-equality idea, and one that very much hammers on the fingers of anyone trying to be better than what they were. Which means it is touted as some sort of equalizing proposal.
------------

I think Nurse Ratched was being sarcastic maybe. I think.

The classic was in the Northeast - it may well have been Kerry or his ilk in the first place, but a bunch of leftists got their panties in a twist and enacted a "Yacht Tax" which, on the surface, might sound like a promising idea. Stick it to those rich Bastards! Right?

Except, that's not really what happened. Sure, the wealthy stopped purchasing Yachts, and (Kerry) moved their yachts to states that didn't confiscate wealth via luxury taxes.

The real tragedy? It destroyed a generational, father to son, father to son ship-building industry involved (by poor or middle class people) with maintaining and repairing Yachts.

Thousands of jobs, GOOD careers, destroyed permanently, because of a few idiots who want to "stick it to the rich".

Yeah, could be. Though I wonder if that really works out over time. Is there a time element where paying off over an extended time eats into your "profit" vs a quick pay off and investing that whole sum in a T-bill or stock or whatever?

I'm sure there is.

410 I'm constantly amazed at how many reasonably intelligent people I speak with about inflation don't understand that it is a permanent loss of purchasing power. They think that when the inflation rate "comes down", prices are going to fall to something like what they were 4 years ago.

======
Hate to tell you this but state and local property taxes are explicitly constitutional both by state constitutions and federal and were used before, during, and after the US Constitution was ratified.

Fedgov cannot use them due to direct tax requirement but state and local gubmints can and do use them and have used them long before the income tax even existed.
