The Morning Report — 8/13/24

lestweKeir.jpg

Good morning kids. I better watch what I write lest this Keir Oberstarmerbahnfuhrer comes and has me arrested for drawing attention to the violent end stages of Britain being transformed into a dark age Islamic state. And by that, obviously bobbies from Scotland Yard aren't going to come here and haul me off across the pond.

No, we already have a not so secret secret police ready willing and able to willingly oblige the Brits, since those who are aware of what's going on over there are all too aware of the fact that at the heart of it it's the same players and insane globalist ideology that is primed and ready to deliver the coup de grace to whatever is left of America in 2024.

The freak show that began with and was hinted at during the Clinton years and then exploded with the coming of Obama is now as in your face as it gets with the warped personalities that populate the bureaucracies and are working behind the scenes with his latest creation, the potential Harris-Walz junta.

Just one shining example of who and what we will face should they take control in January of next year:

When the new administration was looking for an attorney general, Ben Crump, the ultimate BLM lawyer who represented the families of George Floyd, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and nearly every BLM case, recommended Tony West. Al Sharpton also mentioned West.

West, Crump argued, had been the third-highest ranking official in the Obama DOJ, “led various efforts to reduce racial bias, improve procedural fairness, strengthen the relationship between communities of color and law enforcement, and hold police departments accountable.”

Or as the New York Times put it, West “launched an investigation into the 2014 shooting death in Ferguson, Mo., of an unarmed 18-year-old black man, Michael Brown, by a white police officer”. Michael Brown had assaulted a store clerk and then the police officer who shot him in self-defense, but West proved to be a crucial link in the chain that unleashed BLM on America.

The ‘Ferguson Effect’ and the lies around the shooting of Michael Brown would help cripple policing and lead to race riots and then a crime wave spilling across the nation’s cities.

West had helped start the fire that burned down the country and killed thousands of Americans.

Crump however pointed out that West had another major asset besides the Ferguson Effect, he was also “the brother-in-law of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.”

While Biden’s inner circle proved wise enough not to bring in Kamala’s family into the cabinet, West wasted no time rushing in to consolidate Kamala’s position during the Biden palace coup.

The New York Times described West as her “secret weapon” who, coincidentally, was in Kamala’s residence when Biden ‘dropped out’ and ‘worked the phones’ helping “her reach out to would-be supporters” and “his own network of donors and business contacts”.

Since Kamala was in D.C. and West works for Uber in San Francisco (but also has a home on Martha’s Vineyard), thousands of miles away, he might not have just dropped by for a visit.

And West indeed worked fast.

If you thought Eric Holder was bad, and Merrick Garland the second coming of Lavrenty Beria, Ho-Lee-Fook, this fiend is raw nightmare fuel.

And this is how Tampon Timmy Walz viewed the George Floyd riots:

Gov. Tim Walz, now the presumptive Democratic VP candidate, blamed the lack of DEI for the George Floyd riots in May 2020.

(We searched forever to find the full transcript and video! I want to give you guys the whole thing.)

Walz starts his May 31, 2020, press conference by bashing the fact that society hasn’t made DEI a priority:A society that does not put equity and inclusion at the center of it is certainly going to eventually come to the places where we are at. This is a moment of inflection. It is a moment of real change. It is a moment that those fold who are out there demanding this are not going to take a commission or a report.

They are going to want fundamental change. And that is what I think, that’s one of the exciting things in the midst of all this. You can feel a sense of optimism coming back.

Why not blame the rioters? It’s always someone else’s fault. It’s more proof that we’ll see more DEI/Critical Race Theory intertwined in politics if Harris-Walz win in November.

And lest we forget, as a Minneapolis police station was under assault, Walz told the cops who were on the verge of being roasted alive to surrender the station to the thugs.

WIth maniacs like this in charge of America, our enemies are wasting their money on nuclear arsenals. Not that we're going to rearm and revamp our military any time soon anyway, not if Harris is Walz'd into office.

Have a great day, and today is an election day in a number of states. So do your civic duty, and or kvetch about my cognitive dissonance.

    ABOVE THE FOLD, BREAKING, NOTEWORTHY

  • One factor is the loss of public trust and confidence. An October 2022 survey by Gallup and the Knight Foundation found that only 34 percent of Americans trusted the mainstream media to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly,” and that was only because 70 percent of Democrats took that stance. Only two weeks after Leonard Downie published his obituary of objectivity in The Washington Post, a February 2023 Gallup/Knight survey found an even grimmer picture. Asked whether they agreed with the statement that national news organizations do not intend to mislead, fully half the respondents said they disagreed; only 25 percent agreed. Only 23 percent of those surveyed believed that journalists were acting in the public’s best interests. The Associated Press said the results “showed a depth of distrust and bad feeling that go beyond the foundations and processes of journalism.”

5 From 1993 to 1994, Tony West served in the Clinton Justice Department as a special assistant to Deputy Attorney General Philip Heymann; West was responsible for the development of national crime policy, particularly the 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill.

You know, that bill that reduced crime in this country every year for 20 years that every Democrat now disavows?

Sadly amusing that Starmer COULD have pointed out that these issues exist due to the fecklessness of the Tories. He could have changed direction and started protecting the native population. He would have cemented a Labour majority for a generation.

But he just couldn't not be a totalitarian globalist socialist.

14 Secret Service Failed To Flush Out Assassin For Trump, But BROKE Into Building To Use Bathroom For Harris Event

I loved that story as soon as I heard it because for those who worship government and sniff fed agent jock straps, this had to be one of those moments to hear the rationalization for how somehow these are simply good Ham & Eggers.

Secret Service didn't fail to flush out assassin, the Secret Service failed to assassinate Trump. Likewise, the opportunity to stomp all over We The People is just another day ending in 'Y'.

This is what happens when citizens voluntarily surrender themselves and their neighbors to the royalty and demand to be serfs.

Israel demanded slavery upon themselves when they demanded that Samuel give them a king. Importing slavery minded people from around the globe will do the same.

It's not a restroom, there's no bed or divan, no recliner, not even a chair usually. It's not even a bathroom. It's a toilet, okay? In homes? There we do have bathrooms with showers and/or baths. There are a myriad of other terms for toilet, from lighthearted loo to crude bog.

If we have reached the point that we can say penis and vulva aloud in public with no one blushing then we can say toilet/loo/bog/shitter/pisser/crapper/etc.

I get so very, very tired of "sock the taxpayer". I can see having the taxpayer make up any differences between what the wrongdoer can pay and what is required in terms of damages but penalties should come entirely from the wrongdoer. I've harmed no one and shouldn't be required to continually shell out money (fake though it is) because ham-and-eggers keep breaking the fucking law.

41 Faith is not a plan.
A plan, for battle or for correcting an error or for building a dam, requires faith as an ingredient in a complicated series of decisions. Decisions whose summations are used by adult minds to construct solutions to obstacles. Faith in many things; a loving God, the salvation of our wretched souls through Jesus Christ, the correctness of mathematics and engineering, the loyalty and accuracy of those assisting the effort.

But faith that Our Heavenly Father will snatch us from a snare is misplaced. It is our duty to prevent entrapment, then if that is not possible, to rescue ourselves.

Someone took offense to my remarks on that subject Monday of this week, a person clearly without mature reasoning faculties, who asked "Is calling everybody weak-sister pussies a plan?"

Possibly the start of one, yes.

51 Would God bail us out, only to see us return to our old habits?

Before Thine eyes, O Lord, we bring our sins and we compare them with the stripes we have received.
If we examine the evil we have wrought, what we suffer is little, what we deserve is great.
What we have committed is very grievous, what we have suffered is very slight.
We feel the punishment of sin, yet withdraw not from the obstinacy of sinning.
Under Thy lash our inconstancy is visited, but our sinfulness is not changed.
Our suffering soul is tormented, but our neck is not bent.
Our life groans under sorrow, yet amends not in deed.
If Thou spare us, we correct not our ways: if Thou punish, we cannot endure it.
In time of correction we confess our wrongdoing: after Thy visitation we forget that we have wept.
If Thou stretchest forth Thy hand, we promise amendment; if Thou withholdest the sword, we keep not our promise.
If Thou strikest, we cry out for mercy: if Thou sparest, we again provoke Thee to strike.

60 Would God bail us out, only to see us return to our old habits?

This is the spiritual crisis that Evangelicals get wrapped up in.

On the one hand, most Evangelicals want to put off going to Heaven for as much as possible because of the Bucket List.†

OTOH, They want to also participate in The Rapture and will step aside so that things get bad enough to manipulate Jesus into returning on their schedule.††

Bottom line is, do not count on Evangelicals, they only want the entire world to go to crap while they can live a life of luxury and ease just prior to experiencing The Rapture

That would be the duty of all believers.

Evangelicals, broadly speaking, reject orthodox soteriology, ecclesiology and eschatology and have a DIY form that allows for baptizing pets, throwing "Jesus Parties", embracing pagan numerology, while rejecting key doctrines like the Fall, spirituality (ecstasy is confused as "filled with the spirit"), sanctification, and atonement.

Evangelicalism, particularly the Big Box variety is better classified as the American Religion.

That would be Pre-Trib Dispensationalism which is uniquely American in its embrace. Most of the Christian world outside of the US tends to be post millennial or various flavors of amillennial.

I'm of the camp "If I knew the Lord were to return tomorrow, I would still plant a tree today".

Occupy until He comes, the eschatology should not have people maxxing out their credit cards and sitting on a mountain top to be the first to be Raptured because someone read the entrails or scat of a bovine and based on which way the maggots were moving comes up with the near-by date of the LORD's return.

As the hubby is led away after having killed his wife's lover in a knife duel, some biddy screams over and over in the background, "Hanno ammazzato Compare Turiddu!" 152 I can hardly understand people speaking Sicilian dialects but love to hear it. There's one opera by Mascagni "Cavalleria Rusticana" that is set in Sicily and the eternal triangle. My folks had the LPs, now with my sister. I also saw the movie which was brilliantly done. The end is great. As the hubby is led away after having killed his wife's lover in a knife duel, some biddy screams over and over in the background, "Hanno ammazzato Compare Turiddu!" (In a Sicilian accent and means 'They have killed fellow Turiddu'). I adore that bit.

USA Today is publishing scathing ridicule of Trump. Once the story becomes Trumps fitness, and he’s subjected to incessant ridicule, it’s over for him.

He's been nominated, it's not that easy. Besides, don't you think the GQP should carry that to term? No late term abortions for them!

The press will back him up. They're constantly editing everything he says to make him look presidential. They refuse to stop doing it.

EXACTLY !!! The M$M is 100% the main reason Benedict Donald is even being talked about. Anyone else in any other G20 nation would've been talked about like they were nuts and thrown out of the race. GQP has an Epstein problem and will have to do this again in 2028

Some will try, but when you've lost USA Today, and they are mocking you openly...

And those views that you mentioned such as preterism, amillennialism,
postmillennialism and the like didn't come along until a certain Alexandrian started up with his allegorizing of scripture.

I hold to historic dispensationalism. Two ages. This current evil age and the Kingdom Age to come.
Also that the church will undergo persecution under the reign of the anti-christ until it is cut short by our Lord's return.
Both of these views are gaining traction.

Also...

Tulsi Gabbard let it fly that she's been under the watchful eyes of the Marshal's Service as a "domestic terror risk." She's a bit torques off about that too.

So, I guess my point is that while the DoJ probably won't suffer as there are some pretty high profile people that the junta has identified as being problematic. Those two being only the ones who've come out publicly.

I'd like to see someone like Miss Lindsey or maybe Hannity's response to being on a terror watch list. Because I'm certain "nothing will happen" until the movers and shakers in the media and political classes are "put on a proverbial list" as well.

Opera would be very cool if it wasn't for all the singing.

Lou Reed was an interesting musician. A lot of his lyrics are about New York City, and drugs, and his pov on life. In the movie 'Trainspotting' there is one of his songs, "Perfect Day" which is about "weekenders" which is apparently some class of drug addicts which only do drugs on weekends. The movie is about the exploits of heroin addicts, mainly to a bad end.

Anyway, that's the backstory. Yesterday I came across a YouTube video where he is performing the song... with Luciano Pavarotti.

There's a joke about a Barese. For those that don't know the city is Bari, southeastern shore of Italy. This Barese arrives in Kenya and is greeted by a local Kikuyu with "Habari Bwana" (how are you mister) and the Italian says to himself, "Disgraziato! I just got here and he already knows I come from Bari!"

It isn't exactly white knighting for most, I don't think. It's because the relative reward is still satisfactory. It is still worth it - personally - to achieve. Working harder to earn more while keeping one's head down and ignoring the despotism while grumbling about the tax burden still means that the individual person can do better for himself and his family. Working harder and making more does not result in a diminution of status or wealth. Growth gets more marginal each time, but the juice is still worth the squeeze.

That's the game, and the balancing act for the despots. It requires two things. First is that one: keep the juice worth the squeeze. The second is: "make sure there's enough squeeze for enough people to keep the wheels on."

It's the second that's failing, not the first.

Nowadays, yeah. It wasn't always. It's become urban-vs-rural. It used to be north-vs-south and other distinctions. The beauty of the Electoral College is that it has turned out to be extremely portable. The problems it was designed to solve no longer exist, but it was a good solution to the general *class* of problems and remains wholly relevant. It was a brilliant stroke.

And yeah, I am all in favor of doing it at the state level. Legislative districts, counties, metropolitan areas (and the spaces in between), etc. Lots of options for it. I'd love to see a state do it.

Even a halfway thoughtful reading of the passage early in 1Thess 5, which is a continuation of Paul's teaching on the rapture in chap 4, shows that He will return as a thief to the unsaved.
It should not come as a thief to those who are Christ's because we have been given the signs to look for.

Maine and Nebraska apportion electoral votes.

But not state - to my knowledge, anyway, which is by no means comprehensive - has EC-style processes for state-level government. The only near example I can think of is the Tennessee Supreme Court, where it is asymmetrical with judicial representation from each of the three Grand Divisions, and the asymmetry shifts from time to time to keep one of the three from becoming a perennial weak sister.

Not at all. The specific reason for the EC no longer exists. The need to balance power across the original colonies to prevent total dominance by a couple of the new states has not been relevant for quite some time. The need to balance power to prevent total dominance by a couple of states is still very much alive. That's my point. The form and location of the total dominance threat has shifted over time, but the threat itself has never gone away.

The EC is probably why we're still a country.

372 Odds of winning either big one - Mega Millions or PowerBall - are about 1 in 300 million. When the pot gets to 600 million or more - buy a $2 ticket if you like. Your odds are at least even. And if you hit a split pot ? You don't care.

Undoubtedly, it would be a great victory if Trump would, like Milei, cut whole government departments (Department of Education and the FBI, for instance), gutting overbloated bureaucracy and saving taxpayers money at the same time.

It's why the crackdown on social networks came so hot and fast during 2016 and especially after Trump stormed in. If it weren't for the social networks big and small, Trump probably would never have won. He knew it, and so did the deep state.

Trump even said something along the lines of, "having Facebook is better than owning a newspaper."

Social networks were not really open for a long time, but the conversion into total censorship networks happened around that election and afterward. Too dangerous. They're a useful intelligence gathering and population control tool, but it is imperative that dissenters *not* get the same access. It's why Musk buying Twitter was a major blow and why they will probably kill him for it.

416 Fugelsang: In fairness, the American people have already elected a woman president. But in 2016, the dead slaveowners who’d demanded an electoral college had more power than the American people.

As a Canadian, looking at your country, I sometimes find myself imagining just how progressive and rich and happy a people you'd be if you'd had a voting system based more on the popular vote.

I watch your Republican admins splurge and spend on illegal invasions and tax cuts to the wealthy causing recessions. Then watch Democratic Presidents come in and have to spend all their budgets on just fixing the mistakes of their R predecessors. No money to implement their more progressive policy promises. ie. maybe a cross country high speed rail system as one example

So Democrats don't show up next time, and R's use their "failures" against them. R's get re-elected, and then drain the treasury again for the next Democrat to fix.

Add the increasing presence and domination of RW media to spread misinformation. To the point that a majority of Americans STILL think R's are better with handling the economy than Democrats. Baffling.

443 I watch your Republican admins splurge and spend on illegal invasions and tax cuts to the wealthy causing recessions.

Baffling.

When Musk bought Twitter and said he would open it up a bit, I said that they would kill Twitter.

I got that one wrong. They tried to kill Twitter (are still trying to kill Twitter), but failed to do so at least so far. Even Meta's new platform - "Threads," which is under the Instagram umbrella - has languished when it was spun up fast to provide a Twitter alternative for when the former was delegitimized by the Party.

It has been remarkably resilient. They've been trying to disregard Twitter, call it out as bad, disparage it, etc. but nothing has stuck so far. Every error message is "evidence of X on brink of failure" the framing is always how disastrous X is now, etc. - but it doesn't match reality. It parallels, in a way, the coverage of the Russia/Ukraine war. Russia is always inches from defeat, yet keeps not being defeated.

It's why eventually, they'll pivot and go after Musk himself. If it weren't for SpaceX, he might already be dead.

By gross measure - per-capita GDP - Canada is about 30% poorer than the United States. Boots-on-the-ground, regular, everyday conditions, though, the gap is narrower. Canada is a real and rich country and far richer in that way than most of Western Europe.

But if some asshole is going to be all, "well you'd be richer and happier if you were communists like we are in Canada," then the objective measures matter and objectively, they produce a lot less economic output than the US on a relative basis. They're also not meaningfully happier last time I checked, though happiness surveys are bullshit anyway.

Repetition is one of the keys to successful propaganda.

I can't think of too many things more corrosively retarded (at this point particularly) than "majority rule" for national elections.

Through deception, by what I would characterize as unscrupulous people, the notion that 100 percent "suffrage" or voting is always an unalloyed Good Thing needs to be laid to rest.

To believe it, one has to think that while people tend to be rather thick and ordinary or stupid on average, when they all get together somehow they will choose the best leader? "Democracy" is quite rightly shunned by the American form of representative republic.

"Democracy is like riding a bus. When you get to your destination, you get off". Yeah. No Thanks

The jackpot usually comes with likeness and marketing rights to the lottery. It's printed on the back of the ticket in the fine print. By claiming the jackpot, you agree that they can use the event - and your participation in it - for marketing purposes.

It's a short-term capital gain like gambling winnings (which is what lottery jackpots are). So it is taxed as income, which will immediately be at the highest rate of 37%. I don't know if they also take FICA out of it, too, but if so then that would be another 15.3% off the top (since the winner would be liable for both employee and employer components).

My time in Canada has mostly been in fairly remote areas and there I see no difference: an outfitter's camp is the same wherever you are in North America. Even in big cities, where I've done a little business over the years, Canadian companies seem the economic equal. 539 "...it has become abundantly clear in the second half of the twentieth century that Western Man has decided to abolish himself.

Having wearied of the struggle to be himself, he has created his own boredom out of his own affluence, his own impotence out of his own erotomania, his own vulnerability out of his own strength; himself blowing the trumpet that brings down the walls of his own city, and, in a process of auto-genocide, convinced himself that he is too numerous, thus laboring accordingly with pill, scalpel and syringe to make himself fewer so as to be easier prey for his enemies,

until at last, having educated himself into imbecility, polluted and drugged himself into stupefaction, he keels over; a weary, battered old brontosaurus and becomes extinct."

If West is out of Uber permanently, it'll be time for the Teamsters to move to unionize all of Lyft, Uber, etc. It's been the idea for years but had to be given a pause for appearances.

Beware that Walz, like the husk, has a thousand folksy background stories all just slightly tweaked from the former as he got deeper into politics.

NPR, Politics, 'What to know about Minnesota first lady Gwen Walz' August 8, 2024
In part, "She told MPR News that the two of them had collaborated closely during the 12 years that the then-congressman was working largely out of D.C., though she said she often operated behind the scenes. She said they were thrilled to be able to work out of the same space again, more or less."

So, more or less, the Brain. Kamala likes? Does it matter 'cause she's getting marching orders, too.
