Corgi Racing on The Ocho.

Corgi races at Santa Ana Racetrack.

Corgi races at the Buffalo Bills' stadium.

The 2023 Santa Costume Christmas Corgi Race.

Lion cubs wait patiently for their mom to come home.

Cats always land on their feet. Dogs just go with it.

Capybara 007.

You are late with dinner, Human.

Koala and cub.

Cats believe there is an Originality score for sleeping positions.

ICYMI: Chimpanzee buddy system.

He mad: Dog gives owner the silent treatment after being taken against his will to the groomer.

Climbing into the nose of a B-25 in flight.

I think the Olympics should add Car Jumping as a sport. There's a second video there. You have to hit the arrow in the circle on the right side of the first video to advance to the second.

Gender reveal parties are getting out of hand. Also, it is heteronormative to impose a Gender Binary on your newborn. Ze should be allowed to decide what gender zim is when ze starts choosing what zirs favorite color is.

The Boeing Starliner debacle just keeps getting worse. NASA has now sort of casually said that it may Feb. 2025 before those two astronauts can be returned. An 8 day mission is turning into 8 months.

It leaked out yesterday that the damn thing cannot autonomously undock from the ISS. It needs a crew inside to undock. So, the thing is stuck to the docking port! They can't just unhook the thing and throw it away even they wanted to. It might damage the docking port.

The had an unmanned test flight that did dock and undock autonomously, but for some reason, that capability was not included on this crewed version.

I was able to tour a B-24 on the ground and they had the cover to ball turret, extending beneath the plane, open to where you could look down in it. I realized that if I tried, I maybe could get my legs in and nothing. You’d have the the size of a 10 year old to get into one of those things.

Posted by: Joel Robinson at August 07, 2024 07:58 PM (vFG9F)

65 In a B-17 at takeoff the ball turret is unmanned, in flight the guns are rotated down and the gunner climbs in, on return and safely beyond enemy fighters the gunner would climb out.

To jettison the Sperry ball turret requires about 15 minutes and the removal of four bolts IIRC. This becomes necessary if the landing gear fails to extend as a belly landing would sheer the turret off causing even greater damage. Hopefully the gunner is out.

That's exactly the case. Crew 9 can't go up until this POS undocks. And it can't undock without a crew inside.

The ISS has several docking ports, but some only dock with Russian craft, and the others are occupied or can't dock with Crew 9. I was trying to get all that straight in my head, but it's complicated.

145 Day One of the Filming of the Kamala Harris campaign documentary: Werner now questions the wisdom of this cinematic adventure. Harris and her performative DUI sidekick are yammering to an audience who do not yet realize the existential dread of that which they have harnessed themselves to. I cannot muster pity for them, and henceforth shall turn the camera's impassive eye on their Timothy Treadwell-like immolation of their melancholy existence. I ponder this, and also whether KFC is still open, but mostly the KFC question.

Whether it be blessing or curse i cannot say, but a companion has joined me on this political abomination. Forty minutes earlier, I was startled to see a spectral presence. The look, the headgear, and the cigarette holder left no doubt. Not unlike Horatio, I addressed the apparition. Force Ghost Hunter Thompson, I queried, why have you distilled your ectoplasm in my vicinity? And why do you like the modest young maiden Johnny Depp. He chugged on a phantasmagorical flask and greeted me. Vern, he said (so many call me Vern, I am reconciled to it), the fear and loathing have drawn me here. Also, do you have adrenochrome? Ach.

I don't know how they did it, but they had imported some ancient metal press - one of those huge cast iron things as tall as the ceiling that probably say "OHIO" or whatever, it was kind of sad to see good ole American tooling so far from home. I'm sure they make good helicopters with it.

190 Hunter Thompson's shade now wishes to know if this is Bat Country, for that would vex him. Already he is pissed that I lack adrenochrome. He is intrigued by my documentary Cackle Creature: Ascent of a Fell Beast, and is angling for a share of the merchandising. I remonstrate with him, pointing out that his death and the launch of his cremated remains from the mouth of a cannon precludes him to partake of any profits. Momentarily, he is stymied, then asks me what's up with the chick on stage as shrill laughter shatters the evening calm.

This I do not know, I inform him. His ethereal situation leaves him no need for sleep, but Werner is overdue for some nighty night. I have been warned by the campaign staff that Kamala has been mainlining Joe Biden's "talking pills" for multiple days now, and that we must be ready for her to break and enter our sleep chambers, in search of something liquid to take the edge off. I would have made it with extra long lag bolts, at least. You know like an old Ford generator or something like that. Then make it 10 times stronger than necessary for the depths anticipated, and test it you know, not with people, for a while. The carbon fiber has to be inspected after use, but there is no practicable way to do that without incurring a lot of expense, and Capt. Crunch didn't want to do that.

342 Re Vance today...I blame the pathetic press, like many things, on the Internet. Up through the 80s the newspaper was well read and fat. Most of it was advertising. Papers were financially independent..internet killed that. The media companies are dependent on being subservient to the Bond Villain zillionaires that are behind all this. They get their orders, and if they want their jobs and perks, they follow them. Some of them may be ideological but the majority I am sure just do what they are told.

The National stage is very different and if this wasn’t an issue, you wouldn’t see the idiots over at DU cheering o the man served his country, etc etc or racing to find out anything that makes this not true.

I am just worried we are watching the media fortify. This can’t happen again.

351 Fucking on company time is theft.

Chase had to fire one of their 'Golden Girl Bosses' after it was discovered she was doing the horizontal hustle with one of her subordinates. The SVP of HR actually walked into a big meeting she was holding and walked her sorry ass out the door.

It was glorious. The guy involved, just like women victims in similar situations was put on double-secret 'protection' until he left the company some years later. HA!

352 >>But it could be a different Democrat than Dick Blumenthal. And yet it isn't.

You're missing the point. CT is a solid Democrat state. They don't care what Democrats do, they will continue to vote for them. Same as MA where Kennedy literally killed a woman and never sweated reelection.

This is a national election and the race always comes down to a handful of states where people do care about issues. This issue is not going away and it will dog the Harris/Walz campaign. You think Vance won't make a big issue of this during the VP debate?

True that. The Donks already took it on the chin for the way they pushed out the Potato. Which also means Trump & Vance should keep up the heat on Waltz. He's a liar & coward of the worst sort, down there with Kerry. (Maybe lower.) He just smiled at me and said..."I got this."

2 weeks later...the other case manager called his wife and let her know the deeleo...
