Loren Merchan, owner of Authentic Campaigns, nearly doubled her business from this same time two years ago. Having daddy preside over the New York trial of Donald Trump sure does help!

Democrats have paid the company owned by the politically active daughter of compromised Judge Juan Merchan at least $12.7 million in the first half of this year.
Federal election reports show Authentic Campaigns, the consulting firm owned by Loren Merchan, raked in the windfall between January 1 and July 1, 2024. Her father currently presides over Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's case against Donald Trump in New York City.

According to the firm's website, Authentic Campaigns specializes in "digital marketing and fundraising."
The boom in business coincided with Trump's six-week trial in Merchan's Manhattan courtroom, which began on April 15. Prior to the start of the jury trial, Merchan repeatedly sided with Bragg while demonstrating open hostility to the former president. Merchan imposed a gag order early on and then proceeded to deny nearly every defense motion.
Two weeks into the trial, Merchan held Trump in contempt for violating the gag order.
Merchan, of course, should never have been near the case but he thwarted every legal attempt to get him removed.

- The judge donated to Joe Biden and has a daughter who raised millions of dollars for Democrats off the Trump prosecutions

- The lead witness that the whole case relies on is a convicted perjurer and serial liar who admitted during the trial to stealing money from the Trump organization
- The judge put a gag order on Donald Trump for pointing out the political conflicts of interest of the people prosecuting him
- The "crime" relies on the idea that Trump paid off Stormy Daniels to conceal another crime, which is not mentioned in the indictment.

106 I have to admit the stores are clean and roomy, if a bit spartan. They use peanut oil for frying spuds, and the restaurant had 5 gal containers stacked up of peanut oil. And boxes of shelled peanuts. And 50 pound bags of Idaho spuds.

That's the menu, along with shakes. Better to focus on just a few items, and do them well, then try to 52 different things, and kinda so-so at best. They are spendy by comparison. The Cajun fries in the large size are truly a large size of spuds. The burgers were good, and a nice chunk of protein cooked proper. They seemed popular and busy to me.

So they went to the Pastor, who gave them an emphatic sort of: “No. You should not live together unmarried. You need to try and live in God’s favor and be an example for others whenever possible.”

I’m very happy for them. It’s obvious they truly love each other. I think they’re making the right choice.
But I still want her to have the wedding she’s dreamed of since she was little girl, and I’m going to make sure she gets it. 😉

Also, I’m gonna miss her dad so much in those moments. I think it’ll be much worse in that way than her college graduation was.

I must be weird. I knew all of those as terms for "grandmother" long ago, except for "memaw" which I've only seen in the last couple years. People with memaws must be too smart to move to the frozen tundra. We used "gramma" and "grampa" growing up in MN.

And with no explanation to start with, and how no one ever puts the word "my" in front of it, I took it as short for "me maw," "my mother," so I was off by a generation.
