That Hershey revenue chart is typical, and telling.
Ask yourself how much of their recent growth is due to increasing population, illegal. Most consumer companies look like this. What do they care that it is all transfer payments and public debt -- their bonuses are tied to revenue growth. Half the country is on benefits, and the other half is rooting for more growth in population to increase revenue. This is a new type of doom loop -- it can not end until it collapses. Deer whistles don't do anything. Most likely.
What you CAN do, (safely as possible, sometimes, use judgment here) at night, is turn your headlights off, that are probably blinding the critter. They may recover enough vision to get the hell out of the way. It seems to work. Note too, cattle can also hang out in the road like they own the place. Horsies get away from the corral, be alert for critters on rural roads. Fog, and blind intersections. Posted by: Common Tater at August 02, 2024 07:55 PM (F90Zm) 69

Yeah, in my T-rat days (the cooks stopped deploying to "save money" ha ha) we got a lot of Chicken Cacciatore. I was told that the better meals went to more forward deployed troops. Those Tray ration chicken breasts were pretty tasty, in gravy. And a lot of spiced cake iirc.
At some point, the meals were contracted out, even overseas. Instead of "2 pieces of bacon or sausage only" they had absolutely no idea, and figured a whole plate looks just about right. I didn't object. LOL Posted by: Common Tater at August 02, 2024 07:59 PM (F90Zm) 79

I kind of liked canned rations. I was too young to see them in the .mil, though we took them camping and outdoor use. The saltines were better, I think. Kool-aid and Cocoa were way better, it is yet another example of trying to get "too fancy". They have mocha this and hazlenut this in the rations now.
When the Coffee was contracted out of Brooklyn, generic, and just "Type II Style VI" it would wake yer ass UP. Don't plan on napping anytime soon. People complained about the taste, but it was ground fine. Commercial off the shelf stuff is more or less de-caff, and molds over, etc. I tried the Starbucks Via instant coffee on a rec, and it is over a buck a cup. And it honestly reminded me of the good ole Type II A couple of those Cocoas, and a Coffee or two, and you've got a fine Mocha Posted by: Common Tater at August 02, 2024 08:04 PM (F90Zm) 96

Absolutely. But it's going fast. Start work for real next week. I had a neighbor help me put up my flagpole today. It is not as tall, as straight line winds bent one of the steel tubes to a 130° angle. I fly the Navy Jack (the one with just the canton) on the pole, and the American flag off the porch. I had a friend who wrote a regular motorcycle safety column. He'd done a safe riding seminar in California and was riding across north Texas on his way home to PA for his grandmother's birthday. A deer charged up out of the bush, hit him and it killed him. That spoiled most of my deer-crash jokes.

>>But your whale experience. Wow. Once in a lifetime Jack. Morays were a constant even a tourist attraction when I was teaching and leading dives. The only time they would get a bit interested in us was if we were spearfishing otherwise they wanted no part of us and we were fine to view them from a distance. The current issue MRE saltines are little better than cardboard. I'm not a snob, or picky, it's just food has to be sort of edible. Sailor Boy pilot bread was great for that purpose, they fit in a tobacco can perfectly. I learned to bring simple foods, a huge hunk of summer sausage, cheddar and bread is as good as anything most likely. We used to bust open expired flight vest rations, they had these corn flake granola bars, oatmeal bars. One of those needed a gallon of Milk to get down. Designed to entertain. One rule is that if the fans catch a pop fly, the batter is out. Another is that the pitcher pitches at his pace. One guy pitched to fast that the half inning lasted 1 minute and 17 seconds, including a strikeout. Being a Baseball purist I would never watch it again, unless it came on the TV again. ESPN

Dom Lucre | Breaker of Narratives @dom_lucre Aug 2
🔥🚨EXPOSED: Kyle Rittenhouse has been working with Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, a gun lobby ran by serial Trump hater Dudley Brown. Rocky Mountain Gun is the Colorado affiliate of the National Association for Gun Rights. The national organization helped fund Rittenhouse amid his legal case when he “was in trouble.” Rittenhouse announcement for not voting for Trump was actually posted by Dudley Brown first. That post is still on Kyle’s page. This company has a history of spending tens of thousands of dollars against Pro Trump candidates. Rittenhouse has spoke for Rocky Mountain Gun Owners at multiple venues and events, he is even seen wearing their shirt during his speeches and appearances. Just go to Dudley Brown’s Twitter page and search “Kyle” after that search “Trump” I personally believe Rittenhouse is being taken advantage of, he was young; easy to control and in need of help, whoever paid his debts are stilling asking for interest and his opinions and voice has been manipulated into forcing him to push things he don't believe. Dom Lucre | Breaker of Narratives @dom_lucre Aug 2
Everything Rittenhouse said in the video looks like a tweet from Dudley Brown, Brown is even present in promotional footage that isn’t hosted by Rocky Mountain Gun Owners. Is that random? You be the judge. Kyle Rittenhouse @ThisIsKyleR Over the past 12 hours, I've had a series of productive conversations with members of the Trump's team and I am confident he will be the strong ally gun owners need to defend our Second Amendment rights. My comments made last night were ill-informed and unproductive. I'm 100% behind Donald Trump and encourage every gun owner to join me in helping send him back to the White House. Catturd ™ @catturd2 14m I was harder on you than anyone - but I can't hold a grudge when a man apologizes. Just remember, when it was political poison to take your side, Trump and MAGA was there for you during your lowest point. Posted by: andycanuck (i0CiB) at August 02, 2024 09:23 PM (i0CiB) 301

-------- @amuse @amuse Jul 31 A declassified FBI document confirms longstanding suspicions of the agency's active involvement with Patriot Front for years. With 950 pages of details (heavily redacted), it’s evident that numerous federal assets are deeply embedded within the organization. I'll post links to the FBI's documents (again, not terribly interesting given the fact they've been heavily redacted).
