I’m going to post a video of Kamala Harris and her moronic takes every day until the election.

Kamala was asked point blank about inflation and how the “Build Back Better” plan was going to be funded. She managed to answer the question without ever answering. - 2021

82 I slowed and then eventually stopped riding motor cycles some years ago, can’t prove it is objectively more unsafe than it was, but it sure seemed like it. It made no sense to keep an expensive coat hanger in the garage taking up space. Maybe if Ai lived somewhere more rural, or super rural it would be different. Still, deer/motorcycle collisions or other critters are fairly routine.

Wing suit flying, seems pretty fun but I wonder a little bit about the married with family guys. If you squint, it’s not too much different than hanging up or retiring a hobby that is too risky for someone with obligations.

Total average solar power received by the Erf is about 44 PW. 44,000 Terawatts. That's average power, mind you.

Compare that to total world energy production, which I'm too lazy to try to find. That will usually be given in total annual energy, so divide that by the number of seconds in a year to get average power.

That number will be a fart in a hurricane compared to the energy Sol is dumping our way.

That 44 PW figure is based on energy hitting the surface, I see. Total solar irradiance is a whopping 170ish PW. About 30% of that is immediately reflected, and the remaining 120PW is absorbed (and some will be reemitted as long wave).

The 44 PW figure is what gets to the surface. The brunt of it gets absorbed by the atmosphere.

Looking at this insolation thing, I don't really like that 44 PW -- too small, and I can't figure out where that NASA paper came up with it. 122PW total is what I'll go with now.

Anyway, based on that a rough figure is the annual human energy production is about one hour's worth of solar insolation.

212 That 44 PW figure is based on energy hitting the surface, I see. Total solar irradiance is a whopping 170ish PW. About 30% of that is immediately reflected, and the remaining 120PW is absorbed (and some will be reemitted as long wave).
Posted by: publius

Anyway, based on that a rough figure is the annual human energy production is about one hour's worth of solar insolation. Posted by: publius

That sounds about right.

"The 2021 world total energy production [is] about 19.6 TW"

From wiki at https://is.gd/LzTaca

~20TW vs ~120PW, or 120,000TW. We're a bigger contributor than I expected, but still only about 1/6000th of what the Sun hits us with.

But that's just solar energy. What would volcanic activity, electrical storms, etc add? I'm sure we can get from "gnat's fart in a storm" down to "paramecium's fart in a hurricane."

I expect two things are going to happen, sooner or later.

1. We'll learn the Pittsburgh SS Office chief is a big-time buddy of Rowe. Several lower-level supervisors and/or field agents who were involved in the planning and on-site in Butler that day are buddies or proteges of Rowe.

2. Rowe knows some of his past decisions are going to haunt him big-time if the full details of how and why July 13 happened become known.

So, he decided he may as well bluster and try to shift blame to local LEO to stall for time, in hope the whole thing is forgotten after another week or so of news cycles.

IMHO.

263 I have a tree pun! The leaves of a tree fall to the ground. No, wait...the bark of a tree is worse than its panting. No, wait...

264 Barking up the wrong tree with these puns. Better to leave it be. Soon they will be on the Ash heap of history.

Eric Trump
@EricTrump
It's disappointing that after decades of unwavering love, support, golf memberships, family vacations and millions of dollars in support for his wonderful son, Fred Trump has decided to 'cash in' less than a 100 days before an election. I have signed the checks and witnessed first-hand as my father, and our family, has provided endless financial support so that Fred’s son could receive the best possible medical care. To read this garbage and see that he has now followed his troubled sister simply earn a quick buck is disgusting, disheartening and a prime example of 'no good deed goes unpunished'.
