I think I remember posting a different picture of this lighthouse before. I think it might be in Wales. What that halo is, I dunno. Obviously it's a time-lapse picture but I don't know what would revolve round the lighthouse like that. Any guesses?

Probably just a drone with a light on it -- he has a lot of similar photos.

Funny: These monkeys are obviously brothers.

A corgi sneaks into the next yard every night to ride the neighbor's miniature pony.

Never trust a prairie dog.

A squadron of lorikeets.

ICYMI: Cucking the Tour de France.

ICYMI: Magpie tails cat, then plays it off when the cat spots him.

The tiger family that lays together stays together.

You might think that "sleeping sloths" is the most boring possible subject, but it's more interesting and strange than you'd think.

Fur pile.

Frenz.

A cat has decided it's time for you to go to bed.

71 Penguins have long been associated with subversion. Their support of the WEF, UN, and Bilderbergs is well known, as is their consort with the Soros family and now extinct Epstein empire. It is the penguins' intention that they will eventually rule the world, after their useful idiots in China clear the way by exterminating most of mankind via biological warfare.

Once considered cute and harmless, mainly because of a relentless Palestinian propaganda campaign (the shadowy PPP) , the truth is finally being revealed about penguins, and their fowl plans for domination over all of humanity.

76 Just because somebody is incompetent, does not mean that they also can't be malicious. How do you tell the two things apart? Answer: look at how they answer questions afterward. If they are confused and apologetic for their failures, it was probably not malice that caused their actions. If they are trying to escape responsibility, pointing their fingers at others, giving you a changing story, then you are seeing, almost certainly, evidence that malice caused their actions. The other, absolute, indicator of malice is if they try to gaslight you.

Remember a civilian geosourced an unknown phone at the Shooter's house, and tracked that phone back to Washington DC. I want to hear the FIB explain who that person was, and see the 302s from the interview with him/her.

No government conspiracies? How about pulling Kyle Seraphim off the J6 bomber suspect and failing to interview said suspect?

Posted by: Ben Had at July 31, 2024 08

Yes. I think it shows a very distinct lack of judgement and inability to step away when you are losing your temper with an animal. A lunge whip is not a tool to contact a horse with unless you are using the end to poke them out a little bit of they are not moving off. I wasn’t even sure what the heck was happening with the rider, either.

Although you can’t really see the whole thing and maybe it was the reaction to the whip, but it looked like the horse was short behind, almost like his back was sore and she was trying to get him to move more forward regardless. If he was sore, it’s even worse.

I strongly believe in ground manners and do not coddle horses. They are big. But I also don’t think you need to beat one into submission either. There is a reason you can’t hit on the shoulder repeatedly in eventing, you shouldn’t over use a whip.

If I was the rider, I would have been very unhappy. It must be a working student afraid of losing her gig.

Ha! I will. But I don’t think it will be an issue. I think calling it abuse is strong. As I said, it was lack of judgement, and not backing up when losing your temper. Look at the horse again and tell me if you see the back thing.

I have chased horses with a lunge whip around many an arena. But I haven’t repeated whacked them on the back legs. I did whack one with a fork over the rump when he spun around pointing his hind end at me when I was picking his stall. I also yelled like a maniac with my arms up becoming very big. I must have looked insane and am glad there is no video of that going around.

234 >>JackStraw, I need a favor. Would you watch the video of Charlotte DuJardin withdrawing from the Olympics over an animal abuse claim and tell me what you think.

Well I'm hardly an expert but I did grow up with a couple Olympic caliber Dressage riders and I never saw them train like that. Not to say there wasn't some crop discipline and other strong methods including prodding with a whip at times but that looks counterproductive to me. Not so much the whipping which probably looks worse than it was but constantly doing is more frustration than training in my eyes.

I think the idea that Dressage is abusive is dumb. Horses that I've seen that perform at a very high level seem to enjoy it or they don't do well.

246 I've been waiting for Richard Baris to drop a post Biden poll, which he has.

This is one I prefer, because it tends to be more even handed. The Rasmussen +7 is fun to talk about, but I didn't trust it.

In this poll, with leaners, Trump holds a 1 point lead, 49-48. The major change for Harris is a big increase in the black female vote.

Here is why this is good news. This represents Harris high water mark. Baris said that he could easily see the response bias. Traditional Democrat contingents had been despondent before, but could not wait to respond to this poll. Harris will not get better than this, because the Trump vote in the poll in unmoving. Black males did not change their vote at all. Btw, Trump wins white women pretty handily.

There are also several core weeknesses that Harris has that can bite her hard. One of these in immigration where a lot of people don't know she was the Border Czar. If Trump attacks these weeknesses, her numbers will go down.

She is getting much higher approval than before, but still negative. Meanwhile Trump is at 52% approval for the first time since inauguration in 2020.

I would have just put him down. But I come from the no live cover side of the horse world. I had a friend with reiners who was big on the hobbling thing, it’s not something we really do in the English world. It’s not right or wrong. It just is. It was like horsey timeout, I guess.

Should we talk about natural horsemanship? I did have someone with their dumb carrot stick “playing” with their horse. I suggested they use it for a quick pop on the hind end instead of begging the horse to walk. But that is also different than a repetitive beating of a horse that is in an arena and not really doing anything awful that I could see. Sorry to any natural horsemanship people out there. We all have our thing!

If it stands.

But Harris would have to execute a perfect campaign to hold her current position. The sugar high will fade.

Meanwhile, it might mean they think they have a chance to cheat. The black female support means they will try to pick ip GA to compensate for losing MI. But if Trump wins AZ and NV, which election results yesterday make look likely, then Harris must also win MN, WI, and PA.

I'm actually glad to see the race closer right now. It gives the Deep State some confidence that they can cheat enough to win and less likely to try another assassination.

270 >>I have chased horses with a lunge whip around many an arena. But I haven’t repeated whacked them on the back legs. I did whack one with a fork over the rump when he spun around pointing his hind end at me when I was picking his stall. I also yelled like a maniac with my arms up becoming very big. I must have looked insane and am glad there is no video of that going around.

My mom and her business partner had one horse that was enormous. He was over 17 hands but his whole frame was just huge. I nicknamed him Baby Huey cause he would stand in his stall with his head hanging over the door and his tongue handing out one side of his mouth.

He thought it was cute to try and bite me when I was cleaning his stall. He got me a couple times but every time he tried I'd punch him in the side of his head. He just looked at me like "Oh please, that's all you got?". I liked him, he was a character.

271 I also think the call to end dressage all together is the dumbest of dumb. Dressage juts training and has been around since the beginning of horses and riders. Upper level horses love to solve the puzzles and that is all they are doing. Clearly these are non horse people who don’t understand how you get from backing a horse to tempi changes.

I opened the door and took a step in, and that little foal spun around on a dime and kicked with it's back legs. It definitely had horse sense to defend itself (it didn't know I just wanted to see him up close). It's sharp little hoof hit my belt buckle. That was close enough for me.

I had a high school Spanish teacher, who was also a personal friend of my parents, who would take his students down into a small town in old Mexico for the weekend, to experience the culture. At age sixteen, I had thought he was great, and thought that the reason he let me drive his monstrous ‘58 Cadillac down into Mexico was because he liked me. It's similar to zuppa inglese which I had in the 50s as a birthday cake when small. My favorite dessert specially if laced with booze (I like Cinzano).

347 My neighbor the aspiring bass player has been at it for well over two hours. I've mentioned before that as a musician, I don't begrudge her that. Just learn a few new tunes, dear. A little respect for the rest of the neighborhood would be an added bonus. These people just won't get off of my lawn. Sigh.

349 (Part 2). So that was growing up in the 60’s. I lay age 16, I took off for Mexico with a hard core Alcoholic and my parents said “”have fun! See you next week!” Of course I loved it. We got to the Mexican town, loved being able to drink margaritas, and some rough looking Mexican Vacqueros saw us and asked if anyone wanted to ride their horses’. Well me and this girl I had a crush on who they called Pelirojo said sure we can ride. So they put us in the saddle, slapped the horses ass and ever found out they had put us on two Mexican racehorses for a laugh. Ha! funny! I had never even conceived of going so fast in a horse, they both took off like scalded dogs. Mine headed down some dry wash, I was getting beat to death by branches and I dropped the reins, but I didn’t want to die so I leaned forward against the racehorses neck, wrapped both hands in his long mane, and let him go wherever he wanted. After a couple of miles the Vacqueros caught up with me and I think were kind of impressed that at least I held on and didn’t die.
When I got home, I just told my parents “yeah we had a good time.”

356 I went through this punk rock stage in high school and somehow ended up befriending a true punk gang. I dated the lead singer of Skinny Puppy for 2 weeks. I found myself in the depths of Baltimore WAY out of my white bread world. I grew my hair back out and reverted to my preppy clothes shortly after. But I still appreciate the music.

357 That prairie dog stealing the bag of peanuts reminds me of a story.

My mom and I used to go to the nude beach at Sandy Hook NJ. We'd stop at the Dunkin Donuts in Sea Bright to get coffee and a bagel. One morning we set up the beach chairs etc, and were just getting ready to sit with our feet in the surf, when a seagull came along and grabbed her bagel bag. He couldn't get much loft, so she chased after him down the beach naked, and he finally dropped the bag. I almost laughed my ass off.

Woah she was lucky!

Sadly we had a little yap yap dog that was worse than me. Like me she didn't grow up with horses plus she had the bigger dog bullied so she thought she was the bad ass of them all. One day she got outside and got into the corral with a full grown horse. One kick and it was over. That was tough...

Meanwhile, Israel can take out individuals at will throughout the middle east -- including Iran.

371 Aussie here. Re the squadron of lorikeets, the white birds with yellow crests are sulphur crested cockatoos. They're beautiful, intelligent birds with a loud screech, which eat your house (actually they sharpen their beaks on it, but it looks like they're eating it and they do a lot of damage over time). The only lorikeet in the video is the multicoloured bird which jumps on top of the camera at the end. It's a rainbow lorikeet, and there are other species of lorikeet too, birds with a similar size. In Sydney, there are lots of wild rainbow lorikeets and you can feed them from your hand with bread, either wet or with honey.
