The picture is real. They're using the tilt-shift technique. I don't remotely understand it but it makes full-size, real-life things like cities and cars look like miniatures. They used it in the intro of BBC's Sherlock series.

... says that it's a technique for manipulating the field of focus so that only a small area is in focus. Our eyes are used to seeing a shallow field of focus when photographing small things, so when we see large things photographed in a shallow field of focus, we interpret those things as small.

The weekend can't come fast enough. Here are my plans.

Exactly. They NEED him to catastrophically fail, and he didn't. He won't do exceptionally well to save his campaign, and doing generally poorly hurts him more, but not enough to pull a coup and force him out. If leaders want to really publicly challenge him, he needs to be humiliated, repeatedly and publicly, and he's JUST not crossing that threshold for them. It's delicious.

Those aren't the metrics that matter.

Unless the polling numbers pick up AND more importantly, the donations return to a semblance of where they were before, Joe is gone, one way or another. They'll probably have to give him at least a week to see how those are trending (unless they crater after this). Two weeks, tops. Otherwise they're running out of time, unless the 25th or Scalia's pillow come to their rescue.

Yeah, I know he rightly gets a lot of hate, and people don't think he should get the award, but...in a way, he's a lot like Tillman. The dude was in the royal family, didn't need to go to war (no picnic even for a JAG fobbit like Beau), but he chose to do so, and with a fairly risky job. If I recall, his troops (off and on the record) all had generally positive remarks...aside from some disturbing stuff about using the same lip balm his mom did on his junk? Lol.

Poor Whiskey had a terrible time at the groomer's last trip. His cut was all chopped up, and they shaved his belly! That caused clipper burn and a rash, itching, ugh. He just finished a round of steroids and antibiotics and is doing much better.

Been going to that same groomer for mumblety years with no issues, but lately others have mentioned that she was not her usual self. I should have listened. Pretty sure she's developed Bidenitis. Sad.
