The Quotes of The Day

“I think with Biden in the race, it’s a clear choice and it makes the decision a lot easier for many people who might be on the fence with regards to which way they want to vote,” Saul Anuzis, a former chairman of the Michigan Republican Party

Quote II

"I want his spirit back, and I want his ashes. I want to be close again," Gaye Campbell

God Save the USA: Iran Is Directly Tied to Campus ‘Protests’

The following should come as a surprise to no one at this point. The Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, has directly tied Iran to the radical ‘protests’ in the United States.

Nikki Haley releases delegates to Trump ahead of Republican National Convention

Washington — Nikki Haley released the several dozen delegates she won in the primaries and has encouraged them to vote for former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention next week.

"The nominating convention is a time for Republican unity," said Haley, who served as Trump's ambassador to the United Nations, in a statement on Tuesday. "Joe Biden is not competent to serve a second term and Kamala Harris would be a disaster for America. We need a president who will hold our enemies to account, secure our border, cut our debt, and get our economy back on track. I encourage my delegates to support Donald Trump next week in Milwaukee."

Haley earned 97 delegates during the primary process, according to her campaign.

Her release of delegates won't have much of an impact at the convention given Trump already secured the 1,215 delegates needed to become the presumptive Republican nominee. State party rules also have an effect on how delegates can vote during the convention.

Haley's spokesperson Chaney Denton indicated that Haley would not attend the convention, which is being held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

SFF Hazelton: Transgender Females Allegedly Sexually Abusing Females

The nation's prison system is over capacity and upside down. Talk to anyone who has spent time in federal prison, and they will tell you it is dysfunctional on so many levels, including that every prison that houses women in the country has transgender individuals living and sharing intimate spaces with biological women. Advocates for transgender females will tell you that there is no danger to biological women. However, reports from a group of women in SFF Hazelton—a women's prison in W. Virginia—tell a different story.

The Biden administration restored Obama's policies on transgender individuals in the nation's federal prisons in early 2022. Biden's Justice Department began reviewing transgender prison policies in early 2021. Trump reversed some of the guidelines in 2018, encouraging decisions about placement on a "case-by-case" and not solely based on gender identity. However, the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) reissued the Obama-era Transgender Offender Manual in January 2022.

I was reminded of this policy shift because I regularly correspond with J6 defendants now in federal women's prisons. A group of women now write to me regularly from SFF Hazelton—two are J6ers. In the cases where I have not been explicitly given permission to include their names, I have redacted their identities.

California man reveals the shocking amount he was asked to leave at San Diego bar Catalina Lounge

A shocked bar patron has revealed the amount he was asked to leave as a tip when paying his bill in San Diego.

Gordon Kling showed how upon paying his $24.50 tab at Catalina Lounge in Ocean Beach he was presented with a 100% tip option, which would have doubled his total to $49.

Other options on the payment device include an extortionate 50% tip which would have added $12.25 to the man's total, together with more moderate 25% and 20% options.

Barcelona, Spain has a "Karen" problem. I think the authorities should have brought out the water canons for this episode of "Karen".

Locals in one Mediterranean hot spot load up water guns to protest mass tourism: 'Go home'
Barcelona's officials have already planned to remove vacation apartments from the city

Residents of Barcelona took out their frustrations against the increased mass tourism by visiting popular spots around the city this weekend and spraying people with water guns, demanding they go home.

"Enough, let’s put limits on tourism," was another rallying cry for the thousands of people – around 2,800, according to Catalan News – who turned up on Saturday evening at the city center and started marching around to major tourist hot spots in the city.

Organizers claimed that the protest provided an outlet for the "discomfort that exists in Barcelona" regarding increased mass tourism, which local officials have blamed for higher cost of living and housing, making it difficult for locals to live in the city.

Waking Up to Legal Weed
The challenges of marijuana legalization are becoming more and more obvious.

There was something sort of desperate in Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s announcement last month that he had signed an executive order pardoning more than 175,000 Marylanders for misdemeanor marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. Moore’s office, of course, painted the pardon as “historic.” But there’s a deep disparity between presentation and reality, between the idea of a historic blow for racial justice and the facts on the ground.

The order will likely improve some of its beneficiaries’ employment prospects, although only about a quarter will have their records automatically expunged. It will result in no decarceration, because no Marylander is currently imprisoned on marijuana charges. And because the pardons stretch back to offenses in the 1980s, an unknown fraction of recipients are no longer alive to enjoy their new status. These tepid results make Moore’s pardon feel more like an attempt to reclaim the excitement that came with recreational marijuana legalization two years ago. “See,” it all but says, “legal weed is still something we can feel good about!”

For instance, Jill Biden started he rise to power by first watching over and presumably keep in control Biden offspring who weren't full developed, perhaps changing pants for them and also fuking Joe.

Now she has to keep the reins on an old Biden whose devolving, does crap his pants that Jill leaves to someone else while fucking Joe over.

The kid didn't take our order for 1-2 minutes because he was fussing with his gloves (he clearly had just washed his hands and didn't dry them enough), left the subs in the toaster much too long, couldn't figure out how to sprinkle Parmesan on a sandwich, and couldn't find the "3-pack of cookies" button on his screen. I tried to be polite as I could and just did not have the energy after a really bad day to request that he remake the sandwiches. The manager was clearly waiting for us to leave to light into the kid (he'd been restocking the drink cooler), and as soon as we were safely in the car, I outlined to Pookette what he did wrong in the hopes that she can learn from it.

My family's theory on that is you should tip them an absurdly low amount, like one cent. If you don't leave anything, they may assume you're just a cheapskate, but if you leave a penny, it's a clear commentary on their service.

101 Howdy, y'all.

How did you spend your Independence Day long weekend? I spent three nights in the hospital. Daughter suggested next time we go on vacation somewhere nice. I said, can we get insurance to pay for it? HaHaHa ugh.

Four days on a "clear liquid" diet turns out to be a great an effective way to drop several pounds. Yay. What the hospital serves as "coffee" counts as a clear liquid, it seems, which tells you how good it wasn't.

The hospital folks were all very nice and mostly good at their jobs. I got better.

Good to be home again, eating MiladyJo's fine home cooking, drinking real coffee, sleeping in our own bed. Walking the dog and petting the cat.

One thing I miss is the high-speed wi-fi there. Our rural cell connection is so slow it usually takes longer to load one of the café items than it takes to watch it. But I don't think I want to go back there just for that.

Thanks for the outpouring of prayers & thoughts, good Hordelings. Much appreciated. 💙

I should write up the classic crowd in the emergency room. Where we were for several hours. Glad it wasn't, like, you know, an emergency.

155 Leopard onesies - reminds me of Bloom County back in the day. One of the characters is having panic attacks over the mental image of Princess Diana dancing with wild abandon in a leopard print onesie while listening to Wham.

Fun Bloom County addendum: in 1985 Ole Miss students elected Opus the Penguin to the post of student body president, much to the horror of many.

(We also got very close to designating Admiral Ackbar as the official university mascot. So close! George Lucas himself was amused by it, and likely would not have objected.)

247 CCP: The Secret Speech of General Chi Haotian
t.co/WbsKrddCsK
...Only countries like the US, Canada & Australia have the vast land to serve our need for mass colonization.
solving the “issue of America” is the key to solving all other issues. First, this makes it possible for us to migrate there & even establish another China. America was originally by the yellow race, but Columbus gave credit to the white race. We...are entitled to the possession of the land! Second, after solving the “issue of America,” Europe would bow to us, not to mention other small countries.

Only by using special means to “clean up” America will we be able to lead the Chinese people there...Only by using non-destructive weapons that can kill many people will we be able to reserve America for ourselves...new bio-weapons have been invented one after another...we have seized the opportunity to master weapons of this kind.
we should issue a warning to the USA & persuade them to leave USA & leave the land they have lived in to the Chinese people. Or at least they should leave half of the US to be China’s colony, because America was first discovered by the Chinese...

The lovely missus asked a question. While chatting and without looking down, I grabbed for the fish oil gel and downed it. ===========

Why in hell does Nepal insist the South Col route's Camp IV garbage be brought down to the Nepal-side Base Camp? Collect it and toss it over the eastern edge of the South Col, the 11,000 foot almost vertical drop of Everest's East Face. Better known as the Kangshung Face. That would be throwing it into China, but so what? Are the Chinese going to go to war with Nepal for tossing stuff into a teeny-tiny area of China that no one lives in or visits?

We went in and got our food and came out and sat on the curb and watched the poor man's Old Faithful for a good half hour. The people working there understood and it all seemed very apropos.

Greenville, SC area. 5 - 10 gallons per day is normal summer here.

In some place, say the coast of wherever it was next to the Persian Gulf (water gets hot there and evaporates like crazy). Let's see, it was Dharan Saudi Arabia, highest dew point ever recorded, 95F. Temp was 108F.

Under those conditions, you'd need to size the hell out of an A/C unit, and 1 gal per hour would be pissing in the wind. Don't know how much it would be, but it would be a shit ton of water.

Apparently white rock bands are becoming an extinct species, at least in the modern pop culture sense.

They’ve all been replaced by slutty Pop Divas, Rap, and if you’re white, with talent, you go to Nashville, not LA or NYC. It’s regrettable.
The woke destroy everything they touch.

Just remember the heydays of rock in the 60s - 90s and look at the wasteland today. We’re left with folk bands passing as indie.

416 I was never a 'I'm gonna travel around, camping out, just to watch the Dead' kind of guy. In fact, I've never camped out for any band. Like most bands, though, there's always a song or two to like. I'm just not a fan of their 'improvisational style'. If you have to be on acid to enjoy the music, the music might not be worth enjoying. But that's just me.

Daughter drives us the hour down, and back, brought us items we needed mid-stay, and helps in other ways, including keeping the Horde updated. Her wonderful husband took care of our Daisy dog while we were away. Our good son helped with visiting & feeding the cat.

So thankful for them all.

Chances are you and the dog share them normally, anyways. Asian breeds tend to be corprophagic, and on the steppes and such they would clean up after the humans as well

Chances are it might do you some good, or there is a study that says it might be useful or normal gut flora

Heh! This truck is what the used-car dealers would call a "cream puff". Late owner Jake was a real old maid when it came to cars, and never abused them.

It just wasn't the rig for me. The driver's seat puts a cramp in my butt. Just does not fit right. And it's a 4-door cab with a very short box and a topper, meaning it's hard to load bulky items in the back, and the load is not secure against theft. And the box is too short to sleep in, which I can do in the Suburban. If I didn't already own vehicles better suited to my needs, I would be glad to have it.

Filled the crankcase with oil, and using a booster battery, fired it up. Engine lit right off, and runs nice and quiet. Wheel drive worked, but hitting the electric clutch for the mower deck killed the engine. Stuffed a small, and quite dead automotive battery into the battery tray, and hooked it to a charger. A few hours later, it fired right up off the recovered battery, and the blade drive worked fine. I was mowing with it when the folks arrived to check out the Dakota.

And I got good sunburn on my back and chest, and am now real sleepy on account of that, so I am going to hit the sack. Night, Horde.

Now a smaller sedan is quite practical so I get to go car shopping. I'm considering a Ford from 49/51 preferably a Tudor or a business coupe. We shall see what transpires.

Israel is always a few years behind the US. So, show us how it's done. I've been saying for a long time that you'll have to or everything will be lost.

490 Having stopped in, this is what I was talking about when corresponding with one of Israel's terror experts, and they got mad at me for asking how Islamic suicide terror was going to be legible to Jews sharing the same cosmology:

Chabad (Jewish): "Bitul Hayesh thus means total self-negation. The ego, all and any forms of selfhood, must be nullified. It has no place in the consciousness of Divine omnipresence."

Islam (Sufi): "Kill me, friends, for in my killing is my life. My death is in my life; my life is in my death. Annihilation of my essence is the noblest of my glories. And my attributes remaining is the foulest of my crimes."

That is what I was referring to when saying there is a shared cosmology that can and will turn illegible; and a self-negating Jew will likely be unable to see a self-negating Muslim as the threat they really are, which is what seems to have occurred.

Posted by: LenNeal at July 10, 2024 02:43 AM (bFId9)

491 In one of the books I've got laying around are an extensive series of interviews with 20-ish Israelis. One guy did his IDF stint then hippied off to Asia, where in no particular order he 'tried out' EDM/Trance, Yoga, Hinduism, Buddhism, Pantheistic Meditation, and most tellingly, stated he found Sufi Islam most attractive, before returning to Israel. He made the decision that as long as he did most of the Jewish stuff and was reasonably observant of Jewish Traditions it didn't matter what he *really* believed as a cosmology. Every single cosmology he 'tried out' is self-negating.
All of them.

Posted by: Blog Eater at July 10, 2024 02:49 AM (F/oxI)

493 The self-negating shared cosmology is what I was discussing when talking about illegibility.
It's a valid point.
Persons sharing a base self-negating cosmology will often have more affinity with people from 'other religions' that share that cosmology, than with their ostensible 'own people'.
There's more to it, it's not quite so simple as I'm making it seem, but it's a series of what, essays, I've been working on for a while for my Church and my brother, who is like this and can't understand certain results in his life. When it's done, hopefully in working version this week, I'll link it if anyone is interested.

As a very observant Torah Jew, you have no idea how off the mark you are, at least when it comes to religious Jews who are not at all leaning progressive in any way. Chabad has no such lean. Not at all.

I'm aware of the difference. I will point out that what you are close to saying is that Chabad is not Judaism, a risky thing for an 'outsider' to say. Zelensky is Chabad. Chabad is only one of the Kabbalistic threads running in Modern Judaism. Orthodox Christianity has a similar... 'issue':

499 Pavel Florensky:
"Then, Prometheus, the Titans and all the other heroes who rebelled against God in the name of Truth and Goodness—these heroes become infinitely dear to all those illuminated with the ‘Light of Christ’ and blessed by the “Good News.” This apparent rebellion against God is revealed before healed eyes to be the bearing of God in oneself; and the transformative Prometheus, who suffered out of love for humanity, a crucified god with lanced side, turns out to be—in his rebellion against God—a precursor of Christianity."

This Orthodox priest is revered in certain circles of the ROC, and voluntarily went to work for the Bolsheviks. Much of his theology centers on self-negation and a kind of Shamanistic Energy Worship/veneration: that 'All Is All' horseshit. His stuff is big in Russia.
They better be careful with that Pagan cosmology.
