First-World Problems...

After barely 20 years, the plastic has become brittle and the damned thing no longer holds the lines securely. The blinds function perfectly, but it is aesthetically less than pleasing.

I guess the answer is to burn down the house and move somewhere that doesn't have sunlight!

I consider taking them down and soaking them in the bathtub, but never seem to get around to it. Vertical blinds less trouble than horizontal. That gravity thing.

19 My first world problem was gable end fan wasn't working. So bought new one, took old down, seemed nothing wrong but tried to hot wire it and didn't work. Put in new one.
Played around with it a bit, tried again to hot wire it and it worked.
Now have a 3rd useless gable end fan. Suppose a spare if one in house goes.( new one is in attached garage.

35 I hate Venetian blinds. Hard to put up, hard to take down, hard to clean. I like vertical blinds as they are opposite of Venetian blinds.
Also, I have a Savage model 99 that is in exceptional condition, made in 1966. The cases stick in the chamber nearly every time. I can’t see a problem with it. Polished the chamber to no avail. Machined up a barrel wrench for it. So I suppose I will chase out the chamber with a reamer and set the barrel back 1 thread.

37 3D print more. I have a budy whose motorhome had some old plastic parts to some blinds that were worn through from the friction of the string being pulled through them. He gave me the old ones, I measured them and recreated them with a resin 3D Printer. Should be good for another 20 years.

1) Difficult to attach
2) Small and translucent, so they are hard to see when they fly off while trying to attach them
3) Elastic, which means they can fly off and disappear into the carpet

Hezbollah isn't stupid or ill equipped. Firing rockets and/or artillery is relatively simple while the accuracy depends on several things. These include firing location, target location, adequate fire direction math, the type of rocket, and the propellant, among other things. Now surviving counterfire becomes a cat and

194 I bought some high-end metal Venetian blinds from blinds.com. they are so much superior to the heavy plastic ones and they actually block all the light and close completely and I had navy blue ribbon tape added so I don't have string holes. Really dresses up the windows nicely.

198 Solution, CBD: triple pane Pella windows, with ***enclosed*** blinds between innermost 2 panes. Argon (I think) between outermost 2 Panes as insulation. Downside is cost; spent $25K for whole house. Mrs mosquito had the idea to obviate dusting of exposed blinds. Have had them for several years and they work well.

200 WRT blinds. I installed small cleats to to wall next to the blinds when they would no longer stay up. Just pull the blinds up and tie the cords off like securing a boat to the pier. BINGO. Now you can have a nautical look to your windows.
