Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Inflation Rises by 3.3% in May Compared to the Previous May, Bringing the Cumulative Total Inflation to Almost 20% Since Biden Was ElectedIt was 9% when I was elected, Jack! My Puerto Rican/Jewish abuela Roger Staubach told me after I served my third tour in Iraq. Inflation rose 3.3% year-over-year in May, according to the latest CPI data. Overall prices having surged over 20% since Joe Biden took office, with significant increases in essentials like gas, auto insurance, and groceries, exacerbating the economic burden on households. Key Details: The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 3.3% year-over-year in May. Since Biden took office, overall prices have surged by nearly 20%, indicating persistent inflationary pressures. Essential costs have skyrocketed, with gas prices up 54.8%, auto insurance up 51.7%, and groceries up 21.2%. A pro-Trump PAC ran an ad using the Cheesecake Factory's big price increases to illustrate Bidenflation. Biden keeps bragging about the jobs that were regained after being temporarily lost due to the economic shutdown of the nation he demanded. But it's even worse than it appears, because while Americans lost their jobs, it was largely Biden's army of illegal alien invaders who found them. A new report from the Center on Immigration Studies reveals that most job growth since the pandemic has gone to immigrants, both legal and illegal, while labor force participation among U.S.-born men remains at historic lows. Key Details: From May 2019 to May 2024, the number of employed immigrants increased by 3.2 million, while U.S.-born employment grew by only 971,000. U.S.-born men, especially those without a bachelor's degree, continue to experience historically low labor force participation rates. The decline in labor force participation among U.S.-born men has significant social and economic implications, including increased crime, social isolation, overdose deaths, and welfare dependency. The court rejected the “new ‘unlimited and unprincipled’ form of liability” siding with the massacre victims would have created. Oklahoma Supreme Court’s Holding “We . . . hold that Plaintiffs’ grievances do not fall within the scope of our state’s public nuisance statute,” the decision reads, “and Plaintiffs’ allegations do not support a claim for . . . unjust enrichment.” The court rejected the plaintiffs’ argument that the “lingering consequences” of the massacre created a public nuisance: “The continuing blight alleged . . . implicates generational-societal inequities that can only be resolved by policymakers—not the courts.” Posted by: SMOD at June 12, 2024 04:40 PM (RHGPo) 64

From the 75M and Rising newsletter this morning: Postage Stamp Cost During Biden Admin:
January 24, 2021 = .55 cents. Today = .68 cents. July 14, 2024 = .73 cents. That's an increase of 32% under Joe "The Economy is Great" Biden. Put another way, the cost increased .18 cents per stamp and Mr. Build Back Better has until January 2025 to further add to our burdens. That's pure, 100%, unadulterated inflation, folks--NO JOKE! On the Other Hand, Postage Stamp Cost During Trump Admin: January 22, 2017 = .49 cents. January 24, 2021 = .55 cents. That's a 12% increase. 3.4% and 0.1% were expected, so this slightly beats expectations. Good news. The Fed will hold interest rates still, but this was an important report and came in slightly better than expected. With wage growth over 4%, this means people are getting ahead right now and have been for well over a year.
Fed ain't gonna cut 'til November meeting - post election. IMO they should have cut already but Powell playing politics with it now. The inflation today is lower than at any time during Ronald Reagan's 8 years in office. What's more important, higher inflation and low unemployment or lower inflation and high unemployment? 3.3 is just a number, what Powell does will have no effect on the price of gasoline. AP, minutes ago, Biden and Zelenskyy will sign a security agreement between the US and Ukraine when they meet at G7 ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) — Negotiators for the Group of Seven have reached an agreement on how to provide Ukraine with $50 billion backed by frozen Russian assets, two people familiar with the matter said, with an announcement set later this week when President Joe Biden and the group's other leaders meet in southern Italy. Other bits, pieces: "This year's meeting comes three years after Biden declared at his first such gathering that America was back as a global leader following the disruptions to Western alliances that occurred when Donald Trump was president. Now, there's a chance this gathering could be the final G7 for Biden and other G7 leaders, depending on the results of elections this year." And, "Pope Francis, Zelenskyy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are joining the gathering at the Borgo Egnazia resort in the Puglia region..." A pound of ground beef is what....$3.99, or more? Why are countries abandoning the US dollar?
The US dollar has been the world's reserve currency for decades, but its dominance is fading. Sanctions against Russia have spurred other countries into considering backup currencies for trade. US monetary policies, the strong USD, and structural shift in the global oil trade also contribute. Dec. 27, 2023, Business Insider Escaping dollar dominance - So now the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), led by Russia, are discussing how to escape dollar dominance. I love when Paul just regurgitates stats without understanding what he read. He should check out the fed regional bank reports on wage gains. Peaked in 2022 - went down in 2023 - still slightly positive to pre-covid levels, but not significantly. Check the St. Louis Fed - wages are not outstripping inflation. Of course they really never have since Biden has been in office. Based upon a full reading of inflation.
