Babies Are Back, Baby! Cafe

elchatalen.jpg
Patagonia
by @tylekki

Dog feels baby moving inside mother's belly.

Baby reacts to first taste of ice cream.

Blanket monster consumes family.

Cat and baby form relationship on shared appreciation of napping.

Baby tiger and puppy play.

Polar bear mom and cubs.

All-Terrain Freedom Bus.

This bear sure is enjoying this hot tub.

Parrot clowns on a German shepherd.

Surfer girl.

Cobra enjoys a cool-down.

Snow kayaking.

Unicow.

Neat illusion but I think you can spot the prop easily enough.

Glass bottomed infinity pool on top of a skyscraper.

Sweet merciful Mary, the pollen! The pollen!

The innovation in sink design you didn't know you needed (because you don't). The sink, which sucks in everything within six feet, is called the David French's Pouty Sex-Lips.

30 I really think the Patagonia image above is intentionally trying to mimic Caspar David Friedrich's 1818 painting "Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog." Even the peak itself resembles the Kaiserkrone where the human subject in the work is standing.

Which, if true, is kind of neat.

You're right, I don't.

As a sink, it's terrible because you can't fill it with water and wash things.

As a countertop, it's terrible because it's not flat. I don't need all my utensils and non-square produce (which is pretty much all of it) rolling around when I'm preparing food. And I certainly don't need wobbly cutting boards.

I guess if you're a mortician it might be a good place for embalming a body?

94 I was supposed to pick up my teardrop trailer today. But it was 103 for the high so I asked to go out tomorrow when it's cooler. Owner contacted me mid day and asked if they could bring it out for a fee. I happily said yes, so now it's in my back yard! This will be fun. It does mean I can work my last day tomorrow. I will do that because you can do anything you want on your last day.

103 I'll check out Odd Thomas, thanks.
I was already pondering it for bringing a "bodach" as the baddie. I'm nerd-enough (and old-enough) to remember the bodak in Caverns of Tsojcanth. He's the underworld's answer to undead (undead as such being redundant in... the land where everyone is dead).

107 69 Are any of Koontz's books... good? Several movies have been made from his stuff and they're all shit. Sorry, but ... "Watchers", "Phantoms", and "Demon Seed".
Even Stephen King could occasionally get something decent into the cinema, even if (like "The Shining") despite him.
Posted by: looking for books at June 13, 2024 08:30 PM (gKWVE)

Good? Pulitzer prize winning? Probably not. But thoughtful, yes. Some are stinkers. I began one set in the arctic and couldn't get past chapter 2. I didn't care about any of the characters. But the Odd Thomas series has been enjoyable. I saw the movie first, years ago. I loved Anton Yelchin in the title role - I thought he was well cast- and I appreciated that Willem Dafoe got to play a nice guy. The books delve quite a bit into his worldview. I was completely surprised by it, mainly because most traditionally published authors toe the New York line. Check the first, Odd Thomas, out of the library and give it a shot.

110 92 Koontz had some good books in a knock-off of Stephen King way. That is to say were entertaining. In that way King was 9 of 10 and Koontz was 7 of 10.

An apt assessment. But Koontz loves dogs and they are featured in a kind and loving way in his books. He never has them hit by a truck and buried in a demonic graveyard to come back and terrorize the neighborhood. That is a plus for me.

And just think, it was all through a small independent not-at-all related to the DNC group of "crazy extremist radicals" that just so happened to make a bunch of noise on some campuses a month ago and now *poof* almost every single mainstream leftist on the planet is parroting their vile inhumane shit.
