Human Dirtgrub Michael Cohen to Run For Congress

As a Democrat? That fits.

He's got the ethical and psychological profile sought by the Democrat Party.

As Donald Trump's "hush money" trial wound down in Manhattan, his former fixer Michael Cohen made a big bang in the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend.

Multiple sources said that Cohen is next hatching a run for Congress, and is planning a new book, we hear.

One insider said he was like a "walking reality show" as he hit a series of parties and hotspots in the tony Long Island enclave away from Manhattan court over the weekend, and that he was mobbed.

Cohen -- the prosecution's key witness in the case against Trump -- was branded as "the GLOAT" in court on Tuesday by Trump's lawyers. "He's literally the greatest liar of all time," Trump's attorney, Todd Blanche, reportedly told jurors as the case came to a close in court.

But in the Hamptons over the weekend, Cohen was the talk of the town.

A spy told us that the ex-con was spotted grabbing lunch at 75 Main "three days in a row," and that he was overheard saying he "wants to run for Congress."

...

Apparently at one Hamptons party, a New York socialite was overheard telling Cohen, "If you run I will be your first massive check... I could raise you millions."

...

The insider said that on Long Island's East End, "half the people say he's a delusional liar and the rest say he's saving America from Trump. Everyone has an opinion on this, and Cohen was everywhere this weekend."

At a private party in the area, "Cohen was constantly approached by fans of his performance in court... People were overheard telling him to 'stay strong,' and thanked him for 'telling the truth,'" a source said.

Added the insider: "He lit up like a Christmas tree when strangers approached him and wanted to shake his hand. He stood up and chatted with people and was treated like a celebrity. He is parading around like he doesn't have a care in the world, and is very proud of himself."

The source said, "It was a bit strange to see him marching around smiling and acting like he just won an Oscar."

Added the source, "Cohen clearly wants the attention and adulation, [but some] turned their backs on him and ignored him. He is like a walking reality show... Cohen took top billing in the Hamptons."

But, the original conception of the Deep State came from Turkish politics and described the deep alliance between the military, business, and educated sectors to keep the religious faithful out of office. Then Erdogan took over the Deep State and made it his in the 90's.

The problem I see with that is the judge will keep them in court for months to force them to return a guilty verdict. He will run through every alternate juror to get a conviction. I am pretty sure he has been told that he must secure a conviction no matter what.

I know some people here think Trump is stupid but him and his team pulling that rally in the Bronx the other day was pure genius. It demonstrated to everyone (jurors included) how popular he actually is even in the middle of the bluest of blue Cities. He put pressure on everyone that has anything to do with that trial.

The longer the deliberation goes on the better for Trump but I expect the judge to start pulling jurors and replacing them with alternates by Friday.

Same here but there is enormous pressure on this judge to secure a guilty verdict as soon as humanely possible. Remember this guy has the entire doj and the white house breathing down his neck to secure a guilty verdict right now. He is desperate.

He has given Trump and his attorneys at least a dozen avenues of appeal over his conduct during the trial but that doesn't matter.....he must get a guilty verdict so they can use the *convicted felon* title for Trump as soon as possible.

Mississippi perspective here: Barbour actually did a fairly decent job at helping our state's Gulf Coast region to build back after Hurricane Katrina. (You know, the Hurricane that hit Mississippi and Alabama with the brunt of its force but the media elected to cover from the standpoint of New Orleans.)

After that, though, he tarnished his record by pardoning several violent offenders - including one who went on to kill a member of the same family his last victim came from. Which the family warned Barbour about doing and begged him not to do. Barbour was melting down in a temper tantrum about his future political options and simply didn't give a damn at that point.

Now if you're suggesting we folk down here are the "stupid people" referenced, well...bless your heart.

Refusal to deliberate requires not that someone keeps voting to acquit but they refuse to involve themselves in deliberations at all. Pretty high legal standard. Basically someone that says openly, you can say whatever you like but the defendant is (guilty or innocent) depending on what the verdict is going to be. If several jurors are doing so, very high standard for failure to deliberate.

If someone is removed from the jury, then deliberations begin anew with the alternate juror(s) in place.

If a majority of the jury refuses to convict, Merchan is basically done as you start getting into interlocutory appeals and writs of mandamus territory if he ignores the clear black letter law.

IANAL, but Judges do make assessments of juries. And if they come back "hung", the Judge will know which juror #(s) are siding for/against State. At some point, he'll have the power to "advise/rule" further proceedings, and there's every possibility that this particular judge will select out the anomaly (if it's one or two holdouts) and invent an excuse for their recusal(s).

We've read/observed Merchan's actions. To expect integrity at this point is a fool's errand.
