We've Got a New "Trust the Science Experts" Update, and It's a Doozy: Study Links Fluoridated Water to Behavioral Problems in Kids, and... Autism-Like Symptoms

Perfect.

Just perfect, guys.

Give yourselves all $5 million bonuses for sciencing so fucking good.

David Strom writes Fluoride. Autism. Linked.

The case for putting fluoride in water has always seemed particularly weak to me, not because there is no evidence that fluoride can strengthen teeth but because of its topical application mechanism. Consuming fluoride is actually bad for your bones and hence, your teeth, at least in higher quantities. It is called fluorosis. The NIH has a paper on the positive and negatives regarding fluoridation, which helps explain why it is very uncommon in Europe, where most countries have ceased the practice of adding the substance to drinking water.

...

Fluoride as a neurotoxin has been proven in several animal studies. A 2006 National Research Council report stated that it is apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain and the body by direct and indirect means.[19,20] This finding was confirmed by a study where groups of children exposed to 8 ppm fluoride in water were found to have lower average IQs, less children attaining high IQ, and more children affected by low IQ.[21] While 8 ppm is much higher than the fluoride level added to water in fluoridation programs (0.7--1.2 ppm), these results are in congruence with previous studies[22] from China that indicate that fluoride may affect IQ at lower levels.[23]

As you can see from this quote, the evidence that putting fluoride in water as opposed to mouthwashes or other topical applications is not just weak; research seems to indicate that too much fluoride is a positive danger.

I bet you never read that. I have refrained from writing about the subject because any reference to the dangers of fluoride are used to automatically discredit you. In fact, I have long suspected that the American obsession with debunking fluoride skeptics is rooted in a desire to not admit that the critics were right.

I will never trust government "Science" ever again.

They don't know what the fuck they're doing, and they're killing people and making kids autistic, just to justify their fucking salaries.

And I'll also just go ahead and say that I am at that age where my friends are having grandchildren, and I really am stunned at the amount of shots these kids get.

I thought asbestos is only dangerous when you start tearing it out/demo the buildings.

Posted by: CaliGirl at May 22, 2024 05:58 PM

Nothing wrong with asbestos until it turns into micro fibers that go airborne. That generally happens with age or when someone disturbs the asbestos.

I spent 3 years on the Midway CV-41 and slept on the top rack on the O2 level right under the number two arresting wire. I would wake up with my face and blanket covered in white asbestos powder. Every time a plane landed and trapped on that wire a fine cloud of asbestos dust would rain down on us from the overhead.

179 When I started going to the dentist again after turning 29, my dentist told me I had so few cavities, I must have grown up in an area that fluoridated the water.

“I grew up in the middle of nowhere. We got our water from a well.”

“It must have been high-fluoride groundwater.”

At which point I knew fluoridation was a religion regardless of benefits or drawbacks.

(This was in San Diego, which at the time did not fluoridate. Since then, California law has overridden local law, so I think they do fluoridate now.)

274 I mentioned in an earlier thread that my second oldest son was developing normally until he got the MMR vaccine. A couple of days after getting his shots when he was about 18 months old he passed out with a high fever and almost died.

Afterwards it was basically ground zero in development. He started stimmy behavior (hitting himself), ecolalia and other autistic behaviors.

Years later we did a genetic test and found he had a gene problem that leads to Dravit’s syndrome, the only known genetic link to autism.

I have wondered if the vaccine and genetic code worked together to lead to autism in some people.

I remember reading a book on scientific fraud and there was a Middle Eastern dude who copied papers from obscure journal A and submitted them to obscure journals B, C, D and E. He had a great CV. I forget how he got busted but it wasn't by the journals, just some bad luck.

334 Like thalidomide and phocomelia? There was one court case where it was determined that a child got multiples of a vaccination as an infant and developed autism, and it was credited to a genetic condition, and that the overdose was actually the clinic's fault and cause of the autism.

Don’t know. Sometimes I think it was maybe just the fever itself. He was just standing there one second, then sat down then flopped to the floor. He was burning hot, stopped breathing and his lips turned blue. Maybe that was enough to damage some of his brain and the result was autistic behavior. Thankfully he is only moderately autistic, can communicate verbally and can take care of his basic hygiene. But he (20 yo) has limited comprehension skills and all the typical stimmy and vocal issues.

A lady I used to work with had a similar thing happen to one of her children. He let out a strange "howl" immediately after his mmr vaccine, and was all but vegetative after. The nurse had seen it before and grabbed him and ran with him to the ER. I didn't know the lady well enough to ask her for details, but he was in a nursing home from then on.

337 Honestly, I’ve pondered if the rise in autism (and food allergies) might be because the people who have them would have previously died of childhood illnesses, and there is some sort of shared gene predisposing somebody to both one and the other. (Alternatively, perhaps the illnesses themselves could lead to onset, if the infant survives - which they now do much more often.) That could explain why, for example, vaccines meant to immunize children from illnesses that could kill them before the age of 5, could be followed by the onset of autism. I imagine that the nasty ear infection I got when I was 18 months old or whatever, would have killed me a century ago, and then I wouldn’t have to worry about either my peanut allergy or my Asperger’s because I’d be kaput.

342 I could easily believe that about the social sciences, which abounds with incredibly obscure journals. I don't think that that's true in the sciences, especially not true for mainstream, reputable journals.
Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at May 22, 2024 06:35 PM (YqDXo)

Nope, this was for hard sciences. Someone did a citation tree study to find papers that made a huge difference to Science, but most did not. Doesn't make them suspect or frauds, of course, just unimportant to science in general.

A similar thing is the Burgess Shale fossils. These basically sat in a drawer from 1915-20 because the guy doing the dig became an administrator and never really looked at them. In like 1970 someone opened up the drawer and actually looked at them and made all sorts of exciting discoveries that I am unconvinced would not have been seen at the time of discovery. Steven Gould thought different, but even the dudes he was praising for being forward thinking thought his analysis of the situation was wrong.

_______________

It is. It's chlorine GAS that is bubbled into drinking water for sanitization purposes, whereas it's fluoride ION that's is sometimes added for dental purposes.

I've read that in some parts of Europe they bubble ozone into drinking water for sanitization purposes, but ozone is so reactive that it is removed rapidly, leaving the water susceptible to bacteria.

If this were the dominant cause you would expect the autism spike to happen at the same time or closely following the drop in infant mortality when they were several hundred years apart in the developed world.

351 Also, someone mentioned Upton Sinclair. Fun fact: He was not setting out to reform the food industry. His goal was actually to show how utterly corrupt and horrible capitalism was, and that the workers needed to organize and overthrow the system. In fact, he was quite peeves that The Jungle just led to the FDA.

One reason the Pure Food and Drug Act really took off was that the companies who could afford the regulations took advantage of it drive their competition out of business. H.J. Heinz was one of the beneficiaries, IIRC.

352 My initial theory about the rise in autism was that the boom in tech, internet development, etc., created a breeding ground for the aforementioned geeks, nerds, dorks in Silicon Valley and other similar techie areas. 354 After the covid madness, I decided to finally go to listen to Dr Andrew Wakefield for myself. He is the Doctor Who first noticed a correlation between Autism and the MMR vaccine given to children at age 18 months. A friend of mine who works with mentally retarded children says that after they started giving the kids that shot she couldn't tell me how many mothers over the last 30 years or so have come to her and said that their children developed autism within 48 hours after having that injection.

So I finally listened to his interviews on Rumble and the man is the farthest thing from a quack. Brilliant and thoughtful and soft spoken and very meticulous about what he claims and does not claim --- but of course he's been smeared is a conspiracy theorist.

The British Health establishment stripped him of his medical license even though his original article had 12 co-authors who were all distinguished doctors and scientists and it was peer-reviewed five times before it was published in the Lancet.

He is viewing the massive red pilling about vaccines that has been going on with a certain wry and bitter satisfaction.

357 One reason the mental hospitals/institutions were shut down was because they were full of folks who just had autism but had been diagnosed with 'psychosis'. In France they still treat autism as 'psychosis' and it's cruel. Look at pics of 1800s 'Bedlam' in London - a bunch of people with severe autism symptoms. The 'rise' is a matter of rationalising and simplifying diagnostic criteria.

359 The Bradford Hill criteria for causation are not satisfied for fluoride. This is just correlation. The hidden variable is childhood vaccinations. Childhood vaccination and brain damage does meet all the Bradford Hill criteria for brain damage. Timing and location. Dose dependency. Biological Plausibility.

Vaccine is a term created by Jenner, as the Latin name for cow is Vacca, so injecting filth from a diseased cow was called a vaccine by Jenner to prevent smallpox. In this century, we use filth from E. coli bacteria containing all kinds of DNA plasmids along with the programmed psuedourindine modified mRNA and call it a covid vaccine. Neither worked nor are working.

The childhood vaccines contain "adjuvents, AlOH" that triggers the immune system against all antigens and sometimes against self proteins and cause autoimmune disease. Sometimes the child just develops lifelong hay fever if the jab is given during ragweed season.

The aluminum adjuvants, salts, upset the delicate zeta potential of the blood. Red blood cells have a negative charge, so they repel each other and remain in suspension. The +3 charge of Aluminum ions destroy that suspention - microclots.

362 Fluoride is important to developing teeth which begins in utero. Logically, it has been in use for so long that there should be no trend for anything it may cause. Another scare of bad science as with children's vaccines. (I am a dentist!!)
