Kangaroo Corner Cafe

hongkongapartments.jpg
Hong Kong
by @jackyy_wch via GlobalPhotographyCommunity on IG

The world's most dangerous land predator.

Jack Russell terrier bopping around a pond.

Sharing a drink with a llama.

I bet this homemade wine comports with all local safety regulations.

Hillbilly Forearm Fishing.

The ball taking a path with up-and-down ramps is faster than the ball rolling down a straight slope. This phenomenon can be seen everywhere in nature.

Man drives excavator through torrential flooding to save a family stuck on a roof.

I imagine you're wondering why I've summoned you all here today...

A little hard to watch. A woman is having violent seizures, banging her face on the floor. Her dog rushes over to slip his head under hers and cushion her. She stops seizing within seconds.

Crayola sunset.

Saving and raising an orphaned kangaroo baby.

Another orphaned kangaroo baby. Very cute. Almost like a sea otter of the land.

Also cute: a non-orphaned kangaroo hugs his mom.

Dude soars.

After watching Batman Begins, me and my friend Stubby wanted to train to be vigilante ninjas. This is what we came up with.

31 Visited Hong Kong in the sixties. Met a wonderful young woman, she was a graduate student studying fashion. Gave me a tour of the whole city: rode out in the bay on of those fancy junks; visited the main gardens; got a tailor-made suit (had fun wearing in the USA); went to a late-night, live-music nightclub. Great time. Visited her family's apartment: bedroom; living room; kitchen; and bathroom. Five family members lived in that small space. She said that was how everyone lived, in Hong Kong.

37 Ailuropoda microta, only called the pygmy giant panda, is the earliest known ancestor of the giant panda. It measured 3 ft. in length. The first discovered skull of the animal in a south China limestone cave is estimated to be 5 billion years old.

A fossilized skull of the pygmy giant panda was found in a karst cave in China in 2005. It lived in lowland tropical bamboo forests of southern China. The pygmy panda resembled a fat pony. Wear patterns on its teeth suggest that the pygmy panda was already adapted to a diet of bamboo.

Funny thing about that.

I took myself to lunch after a haircut and went to the same watering hole. He's usually there around 4. I was there at 2 and wanted to have a rockfish taco and watch the day baseball game.

Very nice and peaceful. Then the guy sitting next to me starts gossiping with the bartender and his name comes up. Apparently he's got a reputation.

So, I finished my lunch and made waves to leave as I was getting tired and wanted to put my feet up, and in he walks! I excused myself even though he asked me to stay. I said I was tired. He said "it's 3 in the afternoon!" I said "I'm tired and still recovering from surgery." He said, "well, 8'm leaving on a cruise to Alaska on Sunday for a week!" I said"good for you! I hope you have a lovely time!"

And left. I really am tired. That's the most I've been out of the house.

Posted by: nurse ratched at May 15, 2024 09:09 PM (SVX08)

195 No Carpenter Bees (or ants).

But tomorrow, I'll be under the house, doing some preventative, anti-termite spraying. Piers, exposed beams and the perimeter of the house, up where the Hardi-Plank meets the plywood sheathing.

Everything else under there is covered by insulation.

Second step, is putting the quart siphon jar on the end of the garden hose, and spraying enough Demon brand pesticide onto the bare ground under the house, as to make the mud a Toxic Superfund Site in and of itself.

Normally, Step Three is soaking the entire property, fence to fence AND the fences themselves, in Ortho or Cutter Yard Insecticide. Spray the porches, siding, and as much as the roof as I can get.

Stuff keeps the mosquitos at bay, till deep into the summer. Then, do it again.

I repaired a lot of termite damage in 2012. Do NOT want to go through that again.

they couldn't do the helo dustoff, 50 miles by ambulance ... but all praise to every one of those good people too, got me there in spite of everything.

&I'll say it again, thanks for the prayers, Horde!

day after, when I could hold laptop over head and type, I got on here & mentioned the situation, within minutes =/-10 of us responded with variations on "prayers for your recovery, sock"
& you know what?
I felt my head clear from the fog, I felt better, it continued. textbook recovery, healed right up.
& I went from an intellectual knowledge of the power of prayer to feeling it in my guts and bones. big efin diff. yuge, even.
carried me through to a bag-reversal. (THANK YOU!)
which is why, whether I post it or not, I pray for everyone who here who has a problem, healthwise or other.

Decommissioned, long unused railroad causeway, which in a mini-repeat of Baltimore, dropped a section of span right atop the bow of the barge, which began to leak oil.

The adjoining roadway though, thus far appears to be largely undamaged, but is pending inspection, soon as they tow the barge away.
