I won't even remotely profess my support for what Republican leadership is doing. Nor have their priorities reflected the new and growing base of the party. Nonetheless, the politics of it as professed by some on Washington is to eliminate issues that could be damaging to gaining full majorities in Congress so that we can get through the next election. Democrats will not, to their electoral disadvantage, support any immigration bills Republicans are putting forth. Those bills may pass the House, but will never pass the senate and if they did, would be vetoed. The only choice is to hold the status quo until November, which forces Democrats to continue pushing through their destructive agenda. Ultimately, nobody in the party trusts Republicans. Every time we gain a majority, they bend the base over the barrel. But at this point I'll give them until November, then the party is over. There won't be any more excuses. FAFO.

Rand is my man, but his 2016 primary bid convinced me he's too wonkish to have mass electoral appeal. He makes amazing points, I nearly fully agree with him on everything, but he's a smallish guy who makes long, thoughtful arguments punctuated with zingers. Would have trouble pulling a presidential ticket on his own.

I believe there has to be some sort of investigation of the individual if male to verify they have signed up with Selective Service.

Trump just had a rally in deep blue New Jersey in the middle of multiple bullshit lawsuits brought against him by the full weight of the US government and drew more people than any politician of either party has ever drawn to a political event in the history of New Jersey. I was not an early supporter of Trump but since the day he came down that escalator he has done things his way and is arguably the most successful politician in my lifetime.
He didn't just defy the odds to win the presidency, twice, he has exposed the rot in our politics and our party and pretty much singlehanededly changed both. Trump has done with the Republican Party what we watched the left do for years and he's now wearing it like a skin suit while battling the deep state and the media and beating all of them.
It wasn't just the size of the crowd yesterday, it was the makeup. Trump has changed the Republican Party into the party of everyman. He's fractured the left's alliances. He's not perfect by any means but he is, and I am shocked to admit this, the most essential person this country has had in generations. If this country is going to survive as we knew it, it will be largely because of Donald Trump.

It's just so comical to me how the "base" seems to ignore everything related to policy when it comes to Trump and instead focuses on "Trump vs NeverTrump" silliness instead.
I'm voting Trump because there is no other option, but I'm not going to pretend Trump is some great conservative. He's not. He's good on the border (at least rhetorically) and he's not Biden, and that's about it.

That was my "Oh! Right!" ah-hah moment on Trump. Never had reason to doubt that assessment since.
One of my greatest thrills from politics was staying up late to hear Hillary had conceded.

Amongst many other things, I think one of Trump’s biggest accomplishments was effectively banning the Bush family from the GOP. Reagan let them get their nose under the tent flap when he picked George Sr as his VP (his biggest mistake) and that begat two disastrous presidencies….. It’s a bit unfair to blame Trump for the vaccine. At the time, all the experts were predicting death everywhere and Trump responded like CEOs do- go fix this, do it now, and don’t tell me why you can’t. Had the predictions been true, and had the vaccines worked as expected, this would have been an amazing accomplishment. We don’t know what Trump would have done when the efficacy turned out to be less than stellar, because we had Biden who doubled and tripled down on stupid.
We also want to play by dem rules to win elections. The stimulus check was just that. It was vote buying. Plus, Trump is no social conservative, however, what he does bring to the table in terms of our economy, and surprisingly, as a statesman, are what I want back. I am not deluded into thinking he is perfect. He is far from it. But he is very good.

Jill Stein was in Michigan; vote totals in Wayne County (Detroit) did not match ballots and poll books were missing. Judge stopped it but the fraud was never investigated.

I think the one time Repubs got caught stuffing ballots was in Michigan as they (IIRC) and a recount rule that precincts not found in conformance with standards in recounts then their votes are tossed out of the recount and this is why the recount was stopped.

If you followed Scott Pressler, you'd know that a lot of the folks in NJ were from PA. Scott was out registering them to vote.
I hate this idea "you shouldn't go to that state because you can't win it". It sends a message that you will be President of the entire country, not just red states.

Even if he doesn't carry the state but Trump down ballot (they are very important, see: US House of Reps) candidates do win.
