Looks real to me. Nothing is out of place except for the things that realistically end up out of place in a photo like this, like the random power cord hanging down for no reason at all.

The pups in particular are realistically derpy. AI has trouble getting animals right.

11 One of my favorite movies was 'war games'. I know its probably fictional, but always thought 'Wamper' was a great name for a 'gaming computer' in Cheyenne Mountain.

13 Anime?

Watched 'Genocidal Organ' the only way I could find it for free, on a Chinese site in Japanese with no subtitles. I still found it dumb.

Ran across 'Project A-ko' and forgot what it was, and dozed off during it to half-wake up during the big invasion scene, and remembered it then and why it's not really the kind of thing you want to be caught watching...

Then YT for some reason recommended 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace', which I'd never heard of, and if you like that kind of Police Squad/Danger 5-type humor, it's a riot.

18 LenNeal and others, I mentioned on the ONT that Moneygeek dot com suggests that for a lower-end property, in Indiana, it's possible to land home insurance for $50/month. I chose the lowest settings on their calculator, and of course that doesn't take into account things like not being in a flood zone. Does that sound impossible?

How can I find out a good rough figure? I do not want to make an offer on a property I really like, only to sit down and find out that home insurance will drive the monthly payment out of my range.

No, not impossible. Sounds about right for a lower-cost house in a not-so-urban town in the Midwest. I paid less than that for years with my house, until car insurance skyrocketed, and it was cheaper for me to bundle home with auto with my Farm Bureau. But this year I'm likely going to switch to another outfit.
Things change.

>>How can I find out a good rough figure? I do not want to make an offer on a property I really like, only to sit down and find out that home insurance will drive the monthly payment out of my range.

Figure a 1k per year if the property is not in a flood plain, figure 2k per year if it's next to a flood plain or any area that has weather related issues.

You'll probably pay less but that is a good place to start without getting a quote from an insurance agent.

Posted by: Thomas Bender at May 06, 2024 05:07 AM (XV/Pl)

36 Well, I should explain my auto insurance skyrocketed due to a richly-deserved OWI, and I didn't drive for 3+ years and never did the SR22 high-risk insurance because I'm a cheap bastard.

So of course my car insurance was expensive when I started driving again, and it was way cheaper to bundle it with Home. But that was years ago now, and my driving record is now perfect, not even a parking ticket in well over 10 years.

101 Wolfus,

it's a pretty big thing for her obviously. Moving in together and moving away at the same time. This gets harder to do as folks get settled into their ways.

She's looking at completely changing her entire lifestyle.

Maybe you should keep your place there and find a new one and go back and forth a while. Ease her into it while she adjusts to not having you around.

Just an idea.

The IDF needs to play the theme music from Rawhide to get the residents to move to a new tent city.

The US military gave no such warning to Tokyo, Dresden, Hamburg, Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

So the IDF is more moral than the US.

"The leaflets were not part of any humanitarian mission. They were part of a campaign of “Psychological Warfare,” as was very explicit within their organization in the military. "

Like burning out the heart of other cities was not enough warning. Both A-bombs together only did 3% of the damage conventional bombs did to all Japanese urban areas.

Trivia. In 1974, the last holdout of IJN soldiers surrendered, in Morotai Island, Indonesia.
