Corrupt Judge Fines Trump $9,000 For Criticizing the Prosecution and Its Witnesses, Threatens Jail Time If Trump Exercises His Free Speech Rights as the Leading Candidate for the Presidency Again

(Whoops, sorry -- I thought I published this forty minutes ago!)

Bear in mind, George Stephanopolous was just the tip of the spear in a new information operation, to sell the American people on the idea that if a presidential candidate is merely accused of a criminal conduct, it's a Constitutional Crisis and no one is allowed to vote for him.

So that is the political narrative that Trump needs to combat if he's to have a chance at winning.

And, get this, the corrupt judge in the laughable business records case threatens Trump with jail if he won't meekly allow the lawfare operation to steamroll him.

Judge Merchan holds Trump in contempt, levies $9,000 fine and threatens "incarceratory sentence"

Judge Juan Merchan, overseeing the criminal trial of former President Donald J. Trump, has held the former president in contempt of court for violating a gag order, levying a $9,000 fine as a result and threatening Trump with an "incarceratory sentence" should the gag order be violated again.

Judge Merchan fined Trump $9,000 for violating the gag order that prohibits him from attacking witnesses, jurors, and others involved in the case.

The gag order placed on the former president is not placed on key witnesses in the case, including convicted perjurer Michael Cohen, who has taken to TikTok to trash Trump in cash-grab livestreams.

If convicted, Trump could face probation or up to four years in prison.

The trial of Donald J. Trump, the first former president to face criminal prosecution, has entered its third week. Judge Juan Merchan has fined Trump $9,000 for repeatedly violating a gag order that bars him from making attacks on witnesses, jurors, and others connected to the case. The judge issued his ruling as the trial began its third week, stating that Trump's statements, including those on social media, had violated the order.

Update: Trump blasts the gag order and says the whole case is a "hoax."

I hate the press. So very, very much.

That's not what this is, or what it ever was. It prohibits a candidate for President of the United States to speak about the naked political persecution the state is using to destroy him. It's absurd. His statements aren't "attacks," they are simple statements of fact regarding conflicts of interest, political skulduggery, etc.

And this is from that "MXM News" outfit, which appears to be "Axios for dummies on the other side of the aisle." Even those ostensibly opposed to the mainstream news outlets still can't help it. They probably don't even know they're doing it.

65 The judge is a corrupt hack and pissant. The jury is likely more hangman than any jury of racist southern Democrats sitting on a trial of a black man accused of raping a white woman in 1860 in Alabama.

But I continue to believe the trial and the obvious, blatant fraud and political persecution of everyone involved in the trial is the best campaign promotion that Trump can have right now. It's like 100s of millions of dollars of in-kind contributions to Trump's campaign.

The is an odd confluence among the NE pundits. On the one hand, they seem to realize on some level that this is really bad and epoch shifting. On the other, they seem to be influenced by both their own hatred of Trump which seems to be innate and ingrained and then that is reinforced because all of them seem to be the same person, so they see the views reflected back to them by everyone they talk to in meat space.

It is always interesting to watch how people internalize what they hear from people. I wonder how many of us are affected just by coming here? Are we more extreme in our positions than we would be normally or are we actually moderated from what we would be in isolation?

83 Fined $9K for gag order violations. Peanuts for him but he’s being held accountable and that’s the point

the law does allow escalating penalties, hence the warning about incarceration. I get the distinct feeling judge merchan has had his fill of Smelvis' antics. I'd love to see him nail the dumpster fire with 48 hours of solitary confinement, to be served over the weekend so as to maximize his isolation and really drive home how the dipshitosaurus ain't running this show.

Trump didn't get what he wanted. Many say he wants jail to use as a campaign issue and poor me focus....a huge distraction off facts of case too...tRump thinks it will mobilize protesters for tRump as well...

Trump has been ordered by the court to pay the money by Friday and remove seven offending posts from his Truth Social account, and two posts from his campaign website by 2:00 today. If the posts are removed, trump's backed down and lost any initiative he may have had.

He won't comply. Not because he wants to go to jail, but because he thinks he’s too important to have to comply with a court order that he views as illegitimate.

I don't think that is functionally possible any longer, the Donks control too many electoral apparatuses in too many locales to for that to happen.

The most that can be hoped for is a slim EC vote win.

As was noted, in the recent PA Primary, the Meat Puppet Managed to garner just under 1M votes in what was essentially a useless primary, Trump by contrast was able to muster just under 800K votes.

The Donks simply want it more and have the apparatuses at their disposal to tabulate enough ballots to push their preferred NPC into the WH.

Used to, people are increasingly turning off the media and only people of a certain age are now watching the dying TV industry. Most people now kibitiz are get a bunch of this and that in their social media feeds. That also means much less engagement with the news rather than passively sitting and watching propaganda.

A funny story is that an American in China was asked by a native there about why Americans actually watch the news. The native said, in China, we assume all news is propaganda and ignore it as a waste of time.

I think we are at that point now--the media and Dems in office are screaming but people are tuning them out which leads to the left trying to make it up in sound volume and idiocy what they can no longer achieve by persuasion.

There is a reason that ratings for networks are dying and that cable news is dying now too. People that work are too busy with their two to three jobs trying to stay ahead of inflation to watch silliness on the media.

Trying and convicting Trump of anything is aimed at nailing-down the Karen and Julia votes. They expect the Karens and Julias will incessantly nag other women to not vote for a felon, especially a philanderer-felon.

I've decided his sidekick seems more anti-Trump than Andy, but also its sometimes bringing up what the other side says to have Andy react to it.

In 2020, SCOTUS told the PA Secretary of State to separate ballots received on time and those received late because those received late were not eligible to be counted according to state law.

The PA SoS mixed them together and counted them all.

SCOTUS did nothing. In fact, they refused a case from Texas that would have had direct bearing on the actions.

Why should PA decide to follow the law this time?

======

That happened because the Reds won the Revolution, more or less, because the peasants viewed them as sucking less than the Whites which were divided in their war aims. Stalin got his internal slaughter machine running only after he consolidated control of the state and other than the random terror to encourage the others, it was aimed primarily at his perceived political enemies of stature.

A bit of a different situation here due to history and culture. We are more likely to have something like the English Civil War or the French Revolution than the Russian or Chinese model.

AH Lloyd's Long Live Death gives a glimpse at the political deterioration of the Spanish polity before that aborted Revolution. The leftists seized federal power in a coup but still have not consolidated their power at the state level and at the national level. Makes it difficult to establish the camps and even more difficult when teh junta is viewed as feckless, incompetent, and corrupt.

CNN is now down to preaching to the remaining shrinking boomer and silent audience. The real energy is MSDNC and Fox is becoming the middle of the road choice which is why the Murdochs had no problem in getting rid of a lot of conservatives there. There are only so many strategies that one can do in a shrinking media market. One is to maximize the remaining tv audience which is what Fox appears to be doing, grab ahold of your target audience selectively which is what MSDNC is doing by clearly staking out its position as leftist, or to simply wither and die which is what CNN is doing and has been doing since Zucker days.

This time, MSDNC and CNN are not getting the Trump bump like they had in 2016 or 2020. Even leftists get tired of the same Orange Man Bad crap repeated ad infinitum.

USA Today, Suspect named, 2 people being questioned after 4 officers killed serving warrant in NC, Christopher Cann, Trevor Hughes, N'dea Yancey-Bragg, Updated 2:26 pm

Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, officers with the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrived at a home in a suburb of Charlotte to serve several active warrants against 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes Jr., who was wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of fleeing to elude, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Two of the slain task force members, Sam Poloche and Alden Elliott, were employed by the the state's Department of Adult Correction for 14 years, a statement from the department said.

U.S. Marshals Deputy Thomas M. Weeks Jr., 48, of Mooresville, North Carolina, was killed in the shooting, the agency said in a statement. Weeks, a husband and the father of four children, was a 13-year veteran of the Marshals Service.

After hours in the hospital, Joshua Eyer, a six-year veteran of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, died from his injuries. Eyer was married and had a 3-year-old son.

But Terry, just a very long rap sheet going back at least a decade.

301 BTW, back in the day, Sinn Fein established a parallel government in Ireland after the 1916 rising. The point being to give the country an alternative to British rule, and experience governing itself ahead of full independence. This sort of walking away is long-established as "Irish Democracy."

Can't the South start something like this? Have the governors establish some sort of interstate organization to coordinate laws and establish heuristics on currency and defense, in preparation for the coming crackup.

Stay short of Federal responsibilities, until the Federal government renege on its responsibilities, at which point it takes over....

I've been in more than one jury where the defendant was absolute scum that I'd be inclined to shoot on site if I found them messing around burglarin'. But I voted not guilty because the state's case was terrible, multiple screw ups, and I most definitely had reasonable doubt.

I'd rather they were off the street but not by any injustice I'm complicit in. Damn the prosecutors for making it a mess.

Minarchism is the way. Even many states and some major cities are effectively too large to govern. Simply put, large organizations generally suck and the pathological mental cases end up running things whether in ngos, govt, or corporations. Boeing is an example of the latter as is how the Salvation Army decided to kill its appeal to its small donors.

That's the point of propaganda: to make you feel isolated.

"I don't like this, but I'm the only one who thinks that. Everyone around me is down with the program, and I am truly a freak. This is so bad. I am alone and filled with despair."

Propaganda is also about providing the NPCs with the new firmware revision, but that's not the primary point. The primary purpose is to isolate the enemy and cast him into anomie and despair.

If you care to dig into specifics in opinion polling, it may be your experience but certainly is not universal.

Basically it depends on the state, the degree of SES, and marriage status. Single women vote predominately for Dems but single men are becoming increasingly enamored of the right for example.

But, it appears that the non college attendees are moving to the right because they are suffering crime, inflation, and economic uncertainty and that includes women. The higher the SES, including going to college, the more that they vote for the Dems because they are more comfortable.

Basically the party bases are in the process of switching and that in part is why there is a lot of angst among the upper SES GOP supporters. Everyone they 'know' wants to vote Dems because the GOP is the uncool party socially speaking. Those not on welfare don't have that luxury.

The South including Texas has more cohesion along with the economic base to do that than some other places . My best guess of what will happen, is substantial disorder centered on the 2024 election including its aftermath.

Whether it will descend into assassinations, widespread terrorism and riots, etc. nationally versus regionally in blue areas is another question and whether the current political regime will continue to exist is unpredictable.

Additional factors include foreign ones like China-Taiwan, implosion in Ukraine, Israel-Iran-Hezbollah, and so on.

316 It won't. The collapse of the economy because of the debt will. Government revenues currently can't pay for the military and have to borrow.

I figure the crises will come within five years, and the entitlements will crash and burn. And there will be real social crises driven by economics, not D.C. politics.
