The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

The epitome of delusion is saying you’re pro-life but voting to repeal an abortion ban. The Democratic Party stands and votes on death. AZ Republican state Sen. Anthony Kern

Quote II

“We need an apology, fair compensation for our family and other families who have been affected. We have the truth on our side, and we are not going to give up.” Mrs. Jamie Scott, whose husband died from a Kung Flu prick

Quote III

”The police can do the job of clearing out the building, but the DA is then going to drop the charges,” he continued “You can’t drop a charge if we bring a civil lawsuit. So I urge other lawyers in New York– Jews, Gentile, any lawyer– join me, pro bono, in bringing a lawsuit against everybody involved in hurting Jews.” Attorney Alan Dershowitz

Art students unable to repay loans? Color me Raw Umber Shocked.

The Biden administration has announced another round of canceled student loans, this time for $6.1 billion for 317,000 former students of the Art Institutes.

“This institution falsified data, knowingly misled students, and cheated borrowers into taking on mountains of debt without leading to promising career prospects at the end of their studies,” President Joe Biden said in a prepared statement.

Between debt forgiveness (illegal), reclassifying marijuana and free amnesty and citizenship to terrorists from Gaza saving democracy is a tough job for MushHead.

Woman Charged With Sexual Battery For Pulling Teen's Skirt In Restaurant

A Utah woman is facing charges of sexual battery after she allegedly assaulted a teenager at a steakhouse in St. George. A viral video on TikTok showed the woman, identified as 48-year-old Ida Ann Lorenzo, arguing with the 19-year-old and her group of friends in the lobby of Sakura Japanese Steakhouse over the length of her skirt.

Lorenzo, who claimed to be a government employee, threatened to call Child Protective Services on the teen because her skirt was too short. She claimed she could see the woman's asscheeks and pubic hair.

The teen's friends then point out that she's 19.

Lorenzo called the police and told the dispatcher that the teen's skirt was "hiked above her vagina and butt." During the call, she admitted to pulling down the teen's skirt because there were children present, and the restaurant staff failed to do anything.

Well if the elite pimple popping editorial board says it is not a problem. It has to be true.

Harvard Crimson Editorial Board says male participation in women's sports is simply not an 'issue'
The editorial claims the low number of 'transgender' athletes in collegiate sports constitutes a lack of a problem.

Because I have run out of YouTube videos to watch and Reddit sub threads posts to read I have been getting up to speed on the history of these bikes. I am sure not even yelling free beer at me would disrupt this insanity.

Anyhow during my research I came across the Honda CT 90 I grew up riding in the woods and later around town whole playing chicken with 1970's Pontiac Bonnevilles.

Note the convenient two sprocket solution for changing the gear ratio of the 4 speed semi auto transmission. With the small sprocket on I think it hit a bit over 40 MPH a few times on flat ground. It was a beast.

But, Obama's DOE in cooperation with Steve Eisman placed rules on for-profit colleges that did not apply to government and "non profit" private schools like Harvard.

They put my company, and me, out of work. Our students have degrees and credit from schools that no longer exist because the government destroyed those colleges

Watermelon growing on the vine.. If you talk to a botanist, they'll maintain that watermelon is a fruit because it develops from the plant's ovary after flowering and holds the seeds. A vegetable is anything eaten from other parts of a plant, like spinach leaves or carrots huffpost.com

The Art Institute no longer exists — they shut down in Sept of last year. I got my AA from them back in '90, and I not only paid my loans back, I've also enjoyed a three-plus decade career in advertising design and production.

I can attest to their focus on tuition instead of talent. I would say that more than half of the students there when I attended had no business being there, other than to pay said tuition. Fortunately, there were true professionals on the faculty who took the time to focus on and encourage those of us who were there to become professionals.

All that said, I'd be happy to take my T-square and vigorously apply it to the back of every head who wants me to assume their debt.

A time traveler emerges from a portal in front of a man walking his dog. The dog walker asks...don't you mean Hitler? And the time traveler is confused. So he brings up Hitler's wiki page and hands it to the time traveler as his face goes from a look of triumph to horror....

Ok, I watched the video. It is mostly Ida arguing with another girl who is...not commando girl?...Not commando girl is average height and wearing a short skirt to about mid thigh.

Two of the other girls in the friends group though appear to be really, really tall. So I wonder if part of the issue was that commando girl was wearing a "normal" mini-skirt for an average height women but she herself was also really tall.

Unreal that it's not okay to *do* one's thing in public, when reason, restraint, or decency is cast to the wind?

Pulling someone's skirt down is obviously crossing a boundary; those girls were aggressive in their assertion that they were 19, entitled and proud of how/what/who they are. I would have simply left the premises without comment, glad that they weren't my daughters for whom I needed to be embarrassed.

That's the logic that makes me question the feasibility of surviving a time travel jump if one were to make such a machine. At this point, we have to account for orbits when launching probes to the outer planets. Maybe that would be possible with a time machine, figuring out the math, but I wouldn't want to check the calculations by using the machine first.

See the Parker space probe, which is whipping around close the Sun. While it had solar gravitational assist so to speak, it's the fastest space probe to date.

Speed (and whether this is relative to the sun, barycenter, or geocenter, I'm not sure), will hit 191 km/s on it's closest approach.

It's already made several close passes, passing through the outer corona, and hitting about 175 km/s.

That speed is about 0.05% the speed of light.

Voyager 1 had a glitch in Dec of 2023. Starting sending back gibberish. They were able to get it fixed, or deciphered, and just in late April were now back to getting normal data. The problem was memory corruption of some small amount of the spacecraft's memory.

They also, in 2017, fired some backup thrusters for the first time in 37 years. It worked! This was to keep the spacecraft properly oriented to Erf. Something else had gone wonky and they had to try the backup.

That is amazing when you think about it. The one way light travel time is close to 24 hours. Send a signal and it takes two days to get a reply.

Yeah, today's code can fly an F-35 fighter. With daily software updates and hardware flashes, etc.

But an F-35 flight computer would never be able to fly the Voyager path. Even if power consumption was provided to suit.

I was just reading about the fix for Voyager 1's corrupted memory. Now, at this distance and light travel time, they essentially reprogrammed the layout of code in memory. Split up code into different sections, and then had to make sure all the addresses were correct. Not to mention that it would work.

And all of that with a two-way light travel time of nearly two days.

Simple. The nearly terabyte daily software uploads would take YEARS, maybe DECADES to upload and confirm, even at the fastest baud rate the deep space antennas could convey.

IF you had a ROCK SOLID, STABLE F-35 software package to fly the Voyager, that might work.

Have they even given an F-35 such a software package, as to be divorced from Big Contractor, for even a single DAY?

* F-35 is always "phoning home" with status updates. As is every current jetliner and it's associated engine systems in the air, today.*

The TNT halftime show would be better served with a break down of the game that is going on at that time with Charles and Shaq. Amazon has bought the rights to NBA games next year. Going to be interesting to see how streaming will effect the ratings. Since Jordan the NBA has been bleeding TV ratings. Nationally LeBron doesn't move the needle and never did. Steph gave a bump but nothing like MJ. NBA TV ratings are down about 50% post Michael.

Read Deep Space baud rates. New Horizons could only transmit at 1-2 kbps. It took over 15 months for it to transmit all the 6GB+ of data it took during the flyby.

It then, in late 2018 did a flyby of distant Kuiper belt object, dubbed Arrokoth (very weird thing). It will take 20 months to transmit all that data when it's all over.

In fact, it may not all be complete yet. They had to put in hibernation before it was complete.

Outside, the kit I built most often as a kid was AMT's 1940 Ford coupe. Different paint jobs and different wheels, sometimes "race" versions with number decals, a blown engine, and the like.

Oddly I have a Pyro figure kit, the Cowpuncher (marketed on the box as being "Gil Favor from Rawhide"), sitting in its box. Bought it on eBay about eighteen years ago. Just have not had any way, with cats and living in a small space here, to try painting and assembling it. I'd love to customize it to look like Matthew Quigley from the Tom Selleck movie, but I have no idea how to go about that.
