The symphony orchestra was asked to play under the direction of dogs

Dogs were the main conductors and their wagging tails were the conductor's baton. The tempo and rhythm were set by displays of different delights: food, toys, and goodies.

Diana to the doggie chiropractor today for an adjustment and a workout in the water treadmill.

The treadmill is for 5 minutes in 14 inches of water and I can see that she has to put a lot of effort into it. I once tried to figure out how much more work a water treadmill needs versus a dry treadmill. Answer: it's very complicated.

Cotter pins?

If so:
1) straighten the bent 'feet' until they align with the rest of the cotter pin.
2) place tip of screw driver through loop of cotter pin.
3) 2x4 fulcrum for screw driver or hammer on screw driver to remove cotter pin.

Posted by: fd at April 22, 2024 08:09 PM (vFG9F)

Pedal crank cotter bolts are usually headless bolts that have a taper ground on one side that engages a flat on the crank shaft. Usual routine is to back off the nut until it's flush with the end of the thread, and administer a sharp rap to the nut with a brass hammer.

132 The Victor press looks like it would work. But looking over the geometry of the cotter bolts they seem... disposable. Unfortunately the vintage of the crank makes them irreplaceable. I'll try the press idea, maybe some experimental hammering with a sacrificial nut on the thread end, but if they don't move I think the longterm answer is to drill and blind tap the crank housing in the frame, blast and soak out all the old lubricant, and install a zerk fitting.

A couple-three heat n' cold cycles can really help break loose the stubborn parts, and the heat cycle especially, can help "draw" a good penetration oil (.. I favor "Kroil"), down into the joint.

You know the Yamaha logo. Three "crossed" tuning forks. Yamaha has been a maker of musical instruments for a long time. And they used their knowledge of harmonics, to REALLY make the two-stroke expansion chamber exhaust, really SING. That is using the reflected interior sound waves serve to vacuum OUT the out-rushing exhaust gasses from the exhaust port, which REALLY generated a LOW pressure area in the cylinder, right when the piston exposed the Transfer Port in the cylinder wall.

History given, Yamaha carried on this knowledge in the V-Max intake port system, using a set of butterfly valves in the ports. Opening in concert with increasing RMPs, this resulted in some really OMG handlebar grabbing acceleration.

Which in such a short wheelbase bike was... well, it DID focus one's attention! Much more sudden "hit" than a turbocharger, but a very similar effect in "boost".

I rode one. ONCE.

Unless they did the movie trailer thing of putting all the good part in the ad and everything else was just the orchestra getting progressively more frustrated with the dogs.

So, Hollweird has run out of ideas, so I'll write their next script for 'em.

Featuring a goat on a medium sized farm, who has found where all the wild Pot grows, and aims to corner the market on the stuff, wreaking havoc and raising hell on every other critter on the farm, striving to have his way and to WIN.

Name of the movie?

"Cabrito's Way".
