THE MORNING RANT: Why Do Intelligent People Continue to Rely on Government Data That is Known to Be False?

I read the financial press and I listen to the “wisdom” of people in places of importance as it relates to business and economic issues. It is beyond perplexing to me how these ~~intelligent~~ credentialed people can be lied to again and again by those in government who produce economic data, yet these same credentialed leaders wait with bated breath for the next round of completely bogus economic reports. They then make critical decisions based on that data, even though there is a near certainty it will be revised to a less favorable report (or simply proven false) once the headlines become stale.

As I have documented on numerous occasions, the inflation rate produced by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is comically understated. Of course, you don’t need a blogger providing you statistics to figure this out. If you are paying for groceries, insurance, utilities, etc. you are well aware that actual inflation is far in excess of the laughably false 3% rate that the government is reporting. But business and economic leaders eagerly await each new inflation report, even though it will reveal a number much lower than actual. They’re being lied to, and they know they’re being lied to, but they still rely on information that they must know is fraudulent.

Employment data produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is also fraudulent, with the government habitually publishing favorable numbers regarding jobs and unemployment, then quietly revising them after the initial euphoric headlines.

“Initial US employment reports overstated by 439,000 jobs in 2023” [Fox Business – 01/15/2024]

The government quietly erased 439,000 jobs through November 2023, a closer look at the numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows. That means its initial jobs results were inflated by 439,000 positions, and the job market is not as healthy as the government suggests.

Again, people in positions of power and authority are making decisions that are impacted by these jobs reports, despite the fact that there is a pattern of predictable misrepresentation in these reports. I’d be a little comforted if just once I heard a major financial CEO state that while he knows the government data is fraudulent, the pattern of the fraud indicates a certain trend that he finds to be favorable.

In my career, I have spent a lot of time looking at the financial reporting of companies who are clients of mine. Though it’s been infrequent, I have occasionally uncovered some level of fraudulent financial reporting. When this happens, I know that I am about to embark on a painful journey of discovery, in which each false accounting entry ripples throughout the reports, and nothing that was previously relied on can be assumed to be true.

If I observe that my client seems to be having cash flow challenges, and I then take a closer look at its books and realize that a receivable from a customer has been faked, that also means that my client’s revenue and income are falsely overstated. Further, I know that once I dive in deeper, I’ll probably find a lot of other misrepresentations that I had been relying on. What I don’t do is simply hope that the client will provide me another round of falsified financial reporting with rosy results, seeming to make the problem go away.

But what I’ve just described is effectively what our elite business and economic leaders are doing. Despite all the economic lies and fraudulent data that the Bureau of Labor Statistics has spit out, these leaders rejoice each time the latest round of fraudulent inflation and employment data is released. It’s especially alarming how leaders of major financial institutions that would not tolerate falsified financial reporting from their own borrowers are enthusiastically complicit in validating phony government financial reporting.

I am not predicting DOOM! But I do know that making any decision based on falsified reporting is reckless. Even more concerning is that when an entity feels the need to produce fraudulent reporting, it is an almost certainty that it is suppressing important information that it doesn’t want known.

This premise also applies to other governmental reporting, be it climate, or public health, or wherever else the regime is prevaricating in order to advance its power and control.

As we’ve discussed many times around here, the government’s climate apocalysts are producing flagrantly false temperature data to advance the climate hysteria:

The CDC “accidentally” inflated the Covid death toll, which conveniently helped advance the implementation of Covid sharia.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revised its data this week to reduce pediatric deaths from COVID-19 by nearly 24%.

The only reliable assumption regarding the pattern of falsified reporting from government agencies is that everything they report is false and intentionally misleading. Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

I think for many of them it's more complicated than that. They know the numbers will jerked off if not fucked in the ass. But the actual accuracy is less important than what the Fed and other government decision-makers will do based on the numbers.

For example, lower inflation numbers will increase the chances that the Fed cuts rates, which will juice the equities markets. For many people, the markets are all they care about. I fully expect some bogus "report" that justifies lower rates to try to save Joey Showers' presidency.

It's not uncommon to develop an independent estimate or metric, but you can't use that as a point of broader discussion generally since it's your own house view. Only really gets talked about in the context of their approach and beliefs.

In my case, I've heard of one, a former colleague, who died supposedly of the Lung Rot early in the scare period. She was well over 70, though, and well over her proper body weight too. And I was told about it; I don't know for sure it was the Coof.

I believe the mechanism is that interested parties (often Hedgefunds) will tell the agencies a week in advance what the official first release numbers will be so that the kleptoligarchs can place their positions ahead of the "revised" numbers that inevitably come out. The kleptoligarchs know both sides of the trade in advance and can play the long/short twice on each release.

I've seen a few of these tests and they have two common problems:

1) They specifically correlate leftwing beliefs and science. So if disagree that the clot shot reduces the impacts of COVID, that the earth is warming, etc, you'll "get the answer wrong"

2) How do you assess someone's politics? Well one answer is sit down with an interviewer and ask them. And who are the questioners? Usually trans-tifa members, blue haired feminist spheriods, or FABULOUS FIERCE gay men. Now...tell them how you feel about abortion or "gay rights"

Roy Moore was simply not a good candidate...based on his previous electoral history in the same state.

Ultimately, though, I blame Luther Strange for running in the race at all instead of bowing out gracefully and working to smooth the transition to the next Republican. But, power.

Yes, the famous "color revolution". There was a guy that filmed a lot of what happened on Jan 6th, an independent journalist. He reviewed a lot of his videos in a "safe house" days after Jan 6th, because he expected the government to come after him (they did, a few years later). He watched them with some Special Forces operatives, and they pointed out what people were doing in the crowd, as they had been on other operations during so-called "Color Revolutions".

Griggs is what is holding the universities from trying to finesse their way around the Harvard ruling. If they do anything that touches Griggs I don't think the Court would necessarily invalidate Griggs, but they might wipe out the disparate impact tag that was added to the case.

The DEI folks are in a trap slowly collapsing on them for which there is no escape.

Had some interesting videos two years ago where they had armed escorts because they were working where there had been fighting recently...and there was no guarantee the combatants had all departed. 300 SOme idiot freind of my haubsnad was touting the crime stats under Biden on Facebook. It didn't take long for me to find out the following, that throws doubt on the accuracy of those stats (other than the fact that they come from the FBI / DOJ):

Violent crime had already been decreasing since 1990. However any statistical differences starting in 2021 cannot be accurately gauged:

1. 2023 crime statistics have but been reported and assembled and two data sets are insufficient to indicate a "trend."

2. The FBI switched from a system called SRS to NIBRS in 2021 as the system by which various agencies around the country report crime statistics. Under SRS, about 90% of agencies reported crime statistics. In the first year of NIBRS, reporting was less than 64%, with fewer that 10% of California and Florida agencies providing statistics, and fewer than 20% of agencies in New York and Pennsylvania providing crime statistics. The two most populous cities in the country, New York City and Los Angeles did not provide statistics. (Additionally, San Francisco did not report as well.)
