Democrats keep attacking Republicans, claiming the RNC is paying Trump's legal bills.

Prepare for a non-shock.

If you've heard any of the talking points coming out of the Biden camp in the last few weeks, you've probably heard the one about Trump's legal bills. But it turns out that even as the Biden campaign and the DNC were making that case, the DNC was also paying Biden's legal bills.

Here's Biden's campaign finance chairman Rufus Gifford appearing on MSNBC Sunday. "Every single dime that you give the Biden-Harris election campaign, we spend talking to voters," he said. He added, "We are not spending money on legal bills." This ciip of Gifford saying all of that was posted on YouTube by the DNC along with links so people could make donations.

...

But even as they were making this case, the DNC was in fact spending nearly $2 million on Biden's lawyers.

[The NYT:]
Even as some of President Biden's top campaign officials were attacking Donald J. Trump's campaign for soliciting donations to pay his legal fees, the Biden-aligned Democratic National Committee was helping pay for lawyers in the special counsel investigation into Mr. Biden's handling of classified documents.

The D.N.C. has directed at least $1.7 million to lawyers since July to cover the president's representation in the documents inquiry, a figure that pales in comparison to Mr. Trump's use of supporters' donations to pay his hefty legal fees. The former president has spent more than $100 million on legal bills since leaving office, relying almost entirely on donations.

Federal Election Commission records show that since the investigation began last year, the D.N.C. has paid $1.05 million to Bob Bauer, the president's lawyer. The party committee has also paid $905,000 to Hemenway & Barnes, a Boston firm that employs Jennifer Miller, a lawyer whom the special counsel's report identified as a "personal counsel for Mr. Biden."

An investigator for Fani Willis' office hit on witnesses he was supposed to be interviewing on state's business.

Below, A. Bennett is the witness in a prosecution, and Hamilton is Fani Willis' horny investigator.

Bennett revealed to attorney Keith Adams that Hamilton discussed going on a date with her. "Hit me up if you're bored later," read one text. "We're not gonna talk shop."

"And this is February 7 of 2024, this year, when the investigator for the DA's office is supposed to be talking to you about a case, but in fact, is calling you talking about going on a date. Is that true?" Adams asked Bennett, who affirmed that timeline.

Believe it or not, it gets worse. In multiple other texts, Hamilton called Bennett "Mama."

Here's one example that Newsweek gives: "G[ood] m[orning] Mama. Hope you slept well. Again don't come at 1:30. I have a feeling the defense will keep this same witness from yesterday all day again today. I'll give you an update at 3pm. You will most likely go up tomorrow morning. I'll talk 2 u soon."

Bennett told the court that she felt intimidated because Hamilton was hitting on her. At one point she brought her son along with her to a meeting with Hamilton, presumably so that the investigator would stick to business. She also said that other staffers in the DA's office made her feel uncomfortable, including Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love, whom defense attorneys are trying to get kicked off the case.

It's just one big sweaty stinky sex-party in Fani Willis' office.

An Iranian woman demands of the corrupt western media -- how the hell have you managed to cast the Islamic Republic of Iran as the victim in its terror campaign against the world, and its own citizens?!

"Hi, Iranian woman here," Le Bon says at the start of the clip. "It's become very apparent that you haven't been listening to anything that we've had to say for the past two years, but I was wondering if you could just lend me a few minutes of your time in this ungodly hour to hear us now." ...

"When we were screaming that they were killing Iranian women for not wearing a hijab, where were you?" Le Bon demanded. "When they were lynching Iranian men from cranes for protesting, where were you? When we were explaining that it's a terrorist occupying force, where were you?"

"But all of a sudden everyone's graduated from Instagram school of law to say that it's a violation of international law and Iran has the right to defend itself," she seethed.

Video at the link.

BREAKING, INSIDE THE FEDERAL RESERVE: Hidden Camera captures Principal Economist
@federalreserve
talking about Jerome Powell's legacy as "somebody who held the line against like, Trump." The influential agency responsible for maintaining a stable monetary system appears to not just be establishing interest rates, but to be setting policies for desired social outcomes.

"Under Powell, the Fed has changed to think about equity issues, like racial issues, think about wealth inequality as part of the mandate, as part of the things we are following. Think about climate change." Aurel Hizmo, Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve, who prior to working at the Fed was an Assistant Professor
@NYUStern and received his PhD in Economics from @DukeU, helps write speeches for Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome Powell for the Federal Open Market Committee.

Hizmo says "Trump is just a crazy person" and conservatives are "dumb" as he describes to OMG's American Swiper Citizen Journalist a politicized Federal Reserve Board where Powell has promoted ESG issues like climate change and "wants to be remembered in history" "as a savior." But shhh...don't tell anyone because Hizmo says: "I'm just really worried that I'm saying stuff that's classified...It's all classified."

25 Toe fungus???

John Wayne Bobbitt, who attainted notoriety in 1993 after his then-wife severed his penis while he slept, has now lost 10 more appendages – his toes.

Bobbitt has been diagnosed with toxic peripheral polyneuropathy after being exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune military base in North Carolina in the late 1980s.

The condition causes nerve damage to extremities, which has led to the amputation of his toes over a period of several years. The last few digits were removed in 2023.

70 The facts of the Mckesson case are, unfortunately, quite tragic. Mckesson helped organize the Baton Rouge protest following the fatal police shooting of Alton Sterling. During that protest, an unknown individual threw a rock or similar object at a police officer, the plaintiff in the Mckesson case who is identified only as “Officer John Doe.” Sadly, the officer was struck in the face and, according to one court, suffered “injuries to his teeth, jaw, brain, and head.”

Everyone agrees that this rock was not thrown by Mckesson, however. And the Supreme Court held in NAACP v. Claiborne Hardware (1982) that protest leaders cannot be held liable for the violent actions of a protest participant, absent unusual circumstances that are not present in the Mckesson case — such as if Mckesson had “authorized, directed, or ratified” the decision to throw the rock.

Indeed, as Justice Sonia Sotomayor points out in a brief opinion accompanying the Court’s decision not to hear Mckesson, the Court recently reaffirmed the strong First Amendment protections enjoyed by people like Mckesson in Counterman v. Colorado (2023). That decision held that the First Amendment “precludes punishment” for inciting

No, he isn't. He's an exploiter. He exploited the system to run up the score and take the victory. He didn't cheat, he just maximized his potential to win while minimizing the effort it takes to do so. Is he a sleazebag for doing so? Yes, definitely.

But he isn't a cheater. Those girls were cheated, but not by him. They were cheated by the athletic organizations that permitted him.

144 And as someone who remembers the Cold War of the late 60's and 70's, the Russians today are barely 1% as threatening as the Soviets of that era were. That's why so many are suddenly so brave in calling for war and whatnot with them. Russia is a hollow shell of what it once was.
Posted by: Tom Servo

It was a lurking threat every single day - even on 9/11, when I knew intellectually that Bin Laden and Al Qaeda were the culprits, my first instinctive reaction was still "Oh, God, they finally did it - the balloon's gone up!"

The USSR had collapsed and the world was still sorting things out, but my gut defaulted to the 1947-1991 mindset, even knowing that it wasn't that.

152 I think the word Maudlin mainly comes from the way the British take a perverse delight in deliberately mispronouncing everything. Or at best, giving it a pronunciation that has absolutely nothing to do with how it is spelled. Why is Thames pronounced Tems, for example?
Posted by: Tom Servo

This is something they should be proud of.
The pronunciation issue comes about because most people could not read, and back when travel was still very limited (before broadcast radio, TV, trains, cars, etc.) they created a culture and language that we still use today.

It is easy for young cultures to be consistent, since it is all new. They held to their traditional accents for a very long time. Now, sadly, I think it is all lost and they will be screaming from towers like a-rab idiots in our lifetime.

But I will, when the Cold War Generations collectively - in numbers enough to see - change their minds.

Just like I know - and I know - that fair color-blind tests are the best way to evaluate talent, even when different groups pass those tests at different rates. I'll change on that, too, when I see that equal impact actually works. It doesn't.

Just like the Cold War Generations don't change. The Cold War was that intense. The Cold War made those generations. Even the acting out against the Cold War from the 60s Radicals. Those people, I am convinced, behave as if everything they do has the worst case effect of eating a nuke.

I find the psychology of the Cold War fascinating. As a kid, I thought 'Yeah, give people a plan. Give them an outlet and things they can do and focus on to try to help the existential dread of circumstances they cannot control.'

Now, I still find it fascinating, but there is also 'They constantly reinforced the existential dread.'

It's vital to morale, actually. "Duck and cover" drills were one form, and not even totally useless. You "do your bit" - even if "your bit" is just surviving.

They did this during the War, too. The drives for collected kitchen grease and bits of string and whatnot were largely inefficient and useless, but they made people feel connected and a part of the overall effort even if they were just cleaning up after breakfast.

But none of that can be sustained. It wears off. It becomes a pain in the ass, and people start to question whether it's actually valuable. There's a reason why major wars that last more than five years see collapsing support. It's fatiguing, even if the homefront is well-managed.
