The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“The Jezebel spirit opened our event, This is a rebuke and a correction of no one. This is an observation. Before the word of God was opened, there was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole, an Asherah, the same thing that’s used in a strip club for women who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men." Pastor Mark Driscoll of Trinity Church

Quote I

“I don’t think, at this point, that the United States should be engaged in a military action directly at Iran. But I do believe that if this administration fails to step up to the plate and understand that we have an escalating conflict and make it clear to Iran that there are red lines, and that the United States will defend Israel and will not allow Iran to become a weapon state, that we will be in a broader conflict and we will have less options.” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH)

Quote III

“When our policymakers fail to call out our enemies or acknowledge the importance of our alliances, the world is less safe. That is why Hudson’s work is so critical,” Nimarata Nikki Randhawa Haley

Everything you know is wrong.

Suspected Iranian agent working for Pentagon while U.S. coordinated defense of Israel

Frustration is swirling on Capitol Hill following a top Defense Department official’s revelation that a suspected Iranian influence agent remained on the job at the Pentagon last week while U.S. national security officials were coordinating international efforts to defend Israel from a coming Iranian attack.

Sparks flew during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing last week when Assistant Secretary of Defense Christopher Maier told lawmakers that Ariane Tabatabai remained at work in an office overseeing special operations and irregular warfare despite concerns from lawmakers that she has operated at the behest of the Iranian regime.

Suspicion among lawmakers about Ms. Tabatabai’s potential participation in a hidden effort directed by the Iranian regime first came to the fore last year when alleged details about her appeared in a trove of emails from Iranian diplomats spanning from 2003 to 2021 that were published by news outlets.

Hannah Guttierez-Reed, the head armorer on the set of the Alec Baldwin film Rust, was sentenced on Monday to 18 months in prison for the 2021 fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins by Alec Baldwin. Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in March.

HUNDREDS of H&R Block customers reported issues on Tax Day with the company's website earlier this morning.

Over 900 H&R Block users flooded Downdetector to report problems at around 8 am ET Monday.

H&R Block officially resolved the problem after the tax filing service gave customers issues all day.

"We are happy to report the issue that was affecting a small number of our downloadable desktop software users has been resolved," the company wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Feel free to pay taxes which go to illegal immigrants so they can be legally represented.

LANSING – The Whitmer administration proposes spending $8 million in the upcoming fiscal year to fund legal services that could be lifesaving for immigrants seeking asylum.

The money would help pay for attorneys to represent them in immigration proceedings.

Asylum is a legal form of protection that allows immigrants to live in the United States if they fear persecution in their home country, according to the UN Refugee Agency.

That protection gives asylum-seekers a set of rights that other non-citizens are ineligible for, such as the ability to work and apply for social security and Medicaid. In addition, they can request asylum for some immediate relatives.

The proposed budget would provide more money for nonprofit legal services directly impacting them.

BREAKING: Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton warns protesters like the pro-Palestinian ones that blocked the Golden Gate Bridge that if something like that happened on a bridge in Arkansas, “there would be a lot of very wet criminals that would be tossed overboard.”

“If something like this happened in Arkansas on a bridge there, let’s just say I think there would be a lot of very wet criminals that would be tossed overboard, not by law enforcement, but by the people whose road they are blocking. If they glued their hands to the car or the pavement, well … probably pretty painful to have their skin ripped off,” Cotton stated.

“But I think that is the way we would handle it in Arkansas,” he continued. “I would encourage most people, anywhere, if they get stuck behind criminals like this who are trying to block traffic, to take matters into their own hands. There’s only usually a few of them and a lot of people being inconvenienced. It is time to put an end to this nonsense.”

After she was strapped into San Quentin's chair inside the gas chamber, a C.O. supposedly leaned in and said softy to her, 'Breathe deep, it'll make it easier' or words to that effect. Graham is said to have replied, 'How the hell would you know?'

They were friends of my dad and uncle. Duane would stop by their store and tell them the latest on that crazy ass drunk Sammy. A lot of those stories began,"Well, Sammy got drunk and beat the shit out of his wife's car again."

Duane's mom and step-dad owned the world famous Broken Spoke on South Lamar.

One day Duane stopped by with a copy of Willie's next album (it hadn't been released, it was on a plain yellow 8 track) "Red Headed Stranger", everyone was underwhelmed. So they listened to it again (and drank whiskey) and decided that they liked it. So they listened to it again (more whiskey) and fianlly dawned on them that Willie Nelson was a gd genius.

While folks occasionally say Eiscreme, old school Krauts (or at least the ones I know and/or related to) usually just say Eis. It's das Eis, interestingly enough - Eis has no gender. Yet the key ingredient in making Eis (oder Eiscreme), Milch (milk) is die Milch. A feminine gender, which makes sense, but why isn't that extended to the dairy product?

That's why in German you gotta memorize the gender every time you add a new word to your vocabulary, because German linguistic gender makes little to no sense. (Like Käse is masculine, der Käse, but Pizza, with or without cheese, is feminine, die Pizza.)

If you say something about this to your German acquaintances, they will agree with you and laugh in sadistic glee about the difficulties their language causes.

Yes. Same goes for Iranians here, both citizens and 'citizens'. They travel back and forth to Iran and sometimes Iran decides to take them into custody; happens with a lot of 'not very friendly to the US' countries which is why I don't know why anybody would go back. But anyway. Quite a few cases of dual-passport Iranians being imprisoned there. (Dual passports is one thing that must end.) Our media doesn't cover these arrests of American citizens by Iran because it serves no assistance to The Narrative. Pisslam is allowed to be a festering boil on humanity because the media is in love with that festering boil (see their love HamAss, those poor suffering innocents), even the gay ones, the stupid 'useful' idiots they be.

364 We need to define exactly what asylum means. It is political asylum that is the only one that we should consider. Any other problem, whether economic or violence, is not ours to solve.
Same goes for 'migrant', more correctly 'immigrant'. Most of these are 'illegal aliens', as they are described in our immigration laws, etc. Or were. An immigrant is legal and attains 'residence', usually 'permanent residence'.

I remember reading a sob story several years ago about a poor young woman in Central America (El Salvador, maybe) who was trying to escape her abusive boyfriend and therefore decided that she should send her child to America (where she had no relations). And suddenly, her child became America's problem, not El Salvador's. The child was no longer her or her family's problem either. Nope, Americans got to pay (literally) for her bad choices.

369 The weird thing (among hosts of other weird things) about The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome is that both featured the same actor (Bruce Spence) apparently playing what were intended to be similar, but not the same roles. In RW he was the Gyro Captain, and in BT he was the pilot of a small experimental aircraft, but we're apparently supposed to believe that these are two different guys.

Two different guys with the same skills, same make-up, same rogue/plunderer motivation. There must be some Ozzie logic there that I'm just missing.

It was a small fire, not nearly big enough for any roverpak to spot from the outskirts of the city. No smoke. And after Blood had eaten his fill, I carried him to the air-duct a mile away, and we spent the night inside on a little ledge. I held him all night. He slept good. In the morning, I fixed him up pretty good. He'd make it; he was strong.

He ate again. There was plenty left from the night before. I didn't eat. I wasn't hungry.

We started off across the blasted wasteland that morning. We'd find another city, and make it.

We had to move slow because Blood was still limping. It took a long time before I stopped hearing her calling in my head. Asking me, asking me: do you know what love is?

Sure I know.

A boy loves his dog.

It's like Rhythmic Gymnastics (an Olympic sport BTW) with a third dimension. And the costumes are no more "revealing" than female gymnasts wear.

Yeah, it has an association with strip clubs, but the origin of a lot of sports is rather unsavory by today's standards; javelin, for instance, was originally practiced to get good at impaling another human.

"... and make it clear to Iran that there are red lines"

Judging by their attack, they see these lines drawn in red grease paint, and they have banana peels scattered about.

99% failure. I dislike giving the Iranian regime money, but when it's spent for this degree of failure, I'll allow it.

I, for one, am still laughing at the mullahs, the IRGC and the Iranian regime in general.

Perhaps, for Phase 2, the beard of one of the senior clerics could catch fire during a public event.

Last night was my third using CBD, the non-THC kind, to help me sleep. Maybe it's working. I slept pretty steadily, but no longer than usual; still woke up with not quite six hours.

Have you seen the fiftieth anniversary issue of People? Hard to believe it's been around that long -- spring 1974. America was quite a different place then, huh? They have a four-page retrospective of highlights from the Seventies (not many items there, or the Eighties) through to the 2020s. Cool stuff.
