Insurrection: Code Pink and Various Pro-Terrorism Jihadis Take Over Senate Dining Hall, Forbidding Senators from Eating There

These insurrectionists are attacking the very pillars of nutrition.

More than 50 people were arrested Tuesday after the Senate cafeteria was shut down by anti-Israel protesters chanting "Senate can't eat until Gaza eats!"

The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to Fox News that those arrested inside the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., were charged with Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.

"It is illegal to demonstrate inside any of the Congressional Buildings," Capitol Police said in a statement.

LOL. It's illegal for people on the right. Lefties are always welcome to take over whatever building they fancy.

One woman was wearing a shirt that read "Biden's legacy = Genocide."

...
A source told Fox News that Capitol Police at one point shouted "Everybody out or be placed under arrest" -- to which a protester replied "this is the house of the people!"

Sometimes it is the house of the people -- like when rabid pro-abortion activists trap Senators in elevators or block them from entering.

Other times, the government orders up a Woke Nazi dragnet to round up people who profaned the "people's house" with their unsightly presence.

Some of the demonstrators appeared to be same individuals that interrupted testimony from Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing this morning.

In March, more than a dozen pro-Palestine demonstrators were arrested at the Russell Senate Office Building.

No jail time though, right?

Sounds like "obstructing the functions" of government to me. But I have a feeling that the DOJ will see it as just more Righteous Protesting.

Took me two minutes to look it up myself. There are commenters who come here to tell us "you people are going to lose, because abortion!!"

And they can't even be bothered to be honest about it.

It was a legal decision, clowns. The law recently passed was based on Roe v. Wade, which... was overturned. So, if the AZ legislature WANTS to legislate abortions, to whatever their hearts desire, they can re-write a law, based on the fact there IS no Roe v. Wade standard anymore.

An abortion coalition announced last week they had about 150K more signatures than needed to get an abortion measure on the November ballot, and if approved will overturn the 15 week law that was in place.

93 Little FYI.
An abortion coalition announced last week they had about 150K more signatures than needed to get an abortion measure on the November ballot, and if approved will overturn the 15 week law that was in place.
In other words they will do whatever they can to drive leftist voter turnout and push unlimited abortion.

94 i've mentioned this before: asst us atty on may 31 or so riot(s) at the white house:

During the first week of arrests when the majority of charges were filed, Michael R. Sherwin, acting U.S. attorney for the District, said his office ultimately chose to not pursue rioting charges and instead focused on counts involving assault, property damage or burglary, where prosecutors felt the evidence was clear.

"I did not authorize any of those individuals to be charged with rioting. I think that's a very gray area, a very dangerous area that bleeds into protesting, and what is First Amendment [protected] and what is not," Sherwin said in a June 5 statement to The Washington Post. "But what we did charge and will continue to charge is any and all acts of violence, physical aggression and property damage -- such conduct will never be condoned or accepted in the District."

That's the SDR, where the actual Senators go eat if they can't be bothered to walk down to Charlie Palmer's or The Monocle for lunch.

The food is decent but not anything to write home about...Just regular above-average stuff served by Sodexho.

The Dirksen cafeteria where the protesters were is absolutely nothing you should be jealous of. It's where the staffers who make jack shit for salary go eat lunch, sometimes. There are a couple of other facilities in the basement of the Capitol that are better, and the Longworth Cafeteria on the House side was always better than Dirksen if you had time to take the walk from one side to the other.

That's the choice of the company. They don't have to give you anything at all if they choose not to.
Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara

(sorry I am very busy this morning)

Yes, this is exactly right. Most companies (all?) have anyone in a research role sign over all rights to inventions on and off company time. They are very good at this in my experience.

Some also have incentives. Universities and anyone that license tech do this as standard practice. They give the inventor a percentage of revenue. NIH falls into this category. So NIH does program with drug company and they "share" the rights to the tech. Then the NIH licenses it back to drug company for cash. Inventors get a share as part of incentive program. The policy I have run into is the lead inventor (a meaningless term legally, but the first name on the patent) decides how to divy up their share.

I quoted an Open the Books report on last thread that says NIH employees are getting millions. Paul made a big deal of this and Fauci refused to say how much he got personally.

Right, it's a two day trip. We came back, crossing MO on 70, then down through Wichita, and stopped for the night in Texoma. Which, you'll be surprised to learn, is on the state line between Oklahoma and Texas.

Best part of that trip was the lack of traffic, and nice roads between the interstates.

I still can't believe they allow people to bring dogs/whatever on board in the passenger area.

That's just nuts.

Crate them and put them in storage or wherever.

Your little poopykins will be just fine.

Or better yet. They don't want to travel with your lame-ass. Put them in the kennel or have a friend look after them. They'll be fine.

189 You all think the Congressional dining hall is obscene... take a look at the Congressional pharmacy sometime. With a focus on what specific meds are dispensed. In large quantities.
__________

A pharmacist who fills all the scrips for members of Congress says he’s given Alzheimer’s drugs to lawmakers — who may be running the country while losing their marbles.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Mike Kim told STAT News, reportedly citing diabetes and Alzheimer’s treatments.

“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.’”

Kim owns Grubb’s Pharmacy, a 150-year-old DC drugstore that delivers as many as 100 prescriptions a day to Capitol Hill, the outlet reports.

- One cafeteria on each side (Senate/House)
- One facility in the Capitol Visitors' Center that's open to the public
- One little cafeteria in the Capitol building itself.
- Member-only dining rooms on both sides.

They don't have a central one mostly because there's no room to build one large enough to handle all the staffers from both sides, also it's a solid 10-15 minute walk from the Senate office buildings to the House buildings, and vice versa. With only an hour for lunch you'd have to hustle one side to the other, etc.

I'm as much of a critic of the excesses of our "betters" as anyone, but I don't want anyone here getting the idea that congressional staff are living high on the hog. The cafeterias had a few hits and a lot of misses.

Because people reward them for their bad behavior and fawn over the pet. If people looked at them, turned their nose up and said, 'Your dog smells like it just rolled in shit' - this stuff would end pretty quickly.

245 Quail are running around our neighborhood already. They're a hoot to watch. Especially when they have that, "Oh wait, we can also fly to get away from danger" moment.

Used to really like roadrunners.
At least until I learned they eat baby quails like popcorn.

Sorry, quail are almost too stupid to live. They'll run in front of your car, and then when they're about to reach the side of the road, they realize they should have gone the other way, just as your tires are reaching their chins.

246 Heard on the radio, some guy who was NPR in an interview with Bari Weiss and he said NPR was always liberal but about the time Trump got elected it became a crazy house.

So he is kind of regretting what they did, but only way after the fact and way after it mattered. One of the key points he made was that they intentionally chose and framed stories to damage the Trump Presidency. His big example was how much they loved Adam Schiff on the RussiaGate stuff. And after the Mueller Report said there was no collusion, they did not revisit and say what went wrong, they just moved on as if nothing had happened.

But he had his answer, he just hasn't accepted it. They did it because it would damage the Trump Presidency. And I would think they would have been taught that isn't their job in J school but thinking about it, I am not so sure.

248 They don't have a central one mostly because there's no room to build one large enough to handle all the staffers from both sides, also it's a solid 10-15 minute walk from the Senate office buildings to the House buildings, and vice versa. With only an hour for lunch you'd have to hustle one side to the other, etc

Lunch 'hour' is for little people.

By the way I think Nadler eats and shits his Depends at the same time

256 1969 stopped at some base in CA (can't recall which one) to buy sleeping bags at the PX. Drove from there to Louisville KY with one stop to sleep under some pine trees in the bags. Couldn't afford a motel and still have gas to get home. Young 2nd LT's wife was not happy.

If the "Death To America voter" is the new Democrat interest group, that means the destruction of Israel is going to become only the first thing on the agenda. Straight ahead is what Britain is experiencing, speech and religious restrictions, to accommodate the Islamic voter bloc.
