Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Judge Rips DOJ for Blocking Testimony of Lawyers Who Allowed Hunter Biden Charges to Lapse; Points Out They're Jailing Peter Navarro for Defying a Subpoena While Doing the Same"Are you kidding me?" Those are four words that no lawyer wants to hear from a judge in a hearing. But that was not the least of it for Justice Department lawyers fighting House subpoenas into the Biden corruption scandal. US District Judge Ana Reyes slammed the DOJ for stonewalling Congress on the subpoenas while imprisoning figures like former Trump adviser Peter Navarro for doing the same thing. The Biden administration has blocked the testimony of prosecutors Mark Daly and Jack Morgan, who were involved in an inexplicable decision of the Justice Department to allow major felonies against Hunter Biden to lapse. In prior hearings, IRS whistleblowers testified that they had an agreement on the table to extend the statute of limitations on the crimes, but special counsel David Weiss allowed the period to lapse without any explanation. Since the DOJ was in the midst of plea negotiations, it made no sense that the DOJ would simply kill potential charges. It makes perfect sense when you realize these are corrupt will-to-power fascists who will break every rule and violate every trust to advance the communist cause. The House Impeachment Committee subpoenaed these men because the whistleblowers directly implicated them in arranging for the charges against Hunter Biden to lapse without action. ... Reyes noted the obvious: "There's a person in jail right now because you all brought a criminal lawsuit against him because he did not appear for a House subpoena." The DOJ demanded six months in prison. Navarro is serving a four-month sentence. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

The Justice Department insisted that it is different when its own prosecutors refuse to testify and noted that the House had also refused a demand to have other Justice Department lawyers present for the depositions. They then stressed that the decision to defy the subpoena came after lengthy deliberations "at a high level."

Time to haul out the old John Randolph qoute. Randolph was a Congressman from Virginia. He said of an opponent,
"He [Edward Livingston] is a man of splendid abilities but utterly corrupt. He shines and stinks like rotten mackerel by moonlight". Could you apply that to Merrick Garland (and most of the DOJ)? Not so much. Garland is corrupt, but he lacks splendid abilities. He does shine and stink though. I think Garland made a political calculation. Rather than reveal the true extent of corruption--deliberately letting the statute of limitations run on the felony tax evasion charges of the President's son---and having the lawyers who made that decision have to fess up in front of Congress, he's going to try to bury that stinking mackerel by refusing to let the lawyers appear. He'll take a small hit, rather than accept the bigger hit of letting the truth get out. Posted by: Comanche Voter at April 08, 2024 02:41 PM (cB7nX) 125

And at totality, there was a ring of light all around the moon, and even with my naked eye I could see two big orange solar flares jumping out of the ring. Amazing! Continuing a discussion from the last thread about revisions to the monthly employment reports: The monthly revisions occur for the same reason people file their income tax returns late. Every month, many employers send their employment reports in late. The Bureau of Labor Statistics goes back every month & adds in these late-submitted reports. Hence the monthly revisions. If the numbers were hinky, don't you think Ted Cruz or the House Freedom Caucus (or SOMEBODY on the right) would scream bloody murder about it? Posted by: mnw at April 08, 2024 03:08 PM (NLIak) 256
