Survey Results: The "Elite" Think Americans Have Too Many Freedoms and Also Support Cheating In Elections

Really? I had no idea that the oligarchy was just monied fascism with woke war-paint on.

This comes as a complete shock to me.

Earlier this year, pollster Scott Rasmussen asked voters a simple question: "Would you rather have your candidate win by cheating or lose by playing fair?"

The answers he got back were, as he put it in a Daily Signal podcast last week, "the most terrifying poll result I've ever seen."

Among all Americans, just 7% said they would want their candidate to win by cheating. As Rasmussen put it, he'd rather see that number lower, but that's not bad.

But more than a third of the elite 1% he surveyed would condone cheating. And among those who are "politically obsessed" -- meaning that they talk about politics every day -- that number shot up to 69%.

Keep in mind that this elite 1% group is overwhelmingly liberal. According to Rasmussen, these are mainly well-educated urbanites who make more than $150,000 a year and think Joe Biden is doing a great job. Nearly three-quarters identify as Democrats.

They are also highly influential when it comes to policy, and they are completely out of touch with everyday Americans. A few examples from the survey:

* Nearly 60% say there is too much individual freedom in America -- double the rate of all Americans.

* More than two-thirds (67%) favor rationing of energy and food to combat the threat of "climate change."

* Nearly three-quarters (70%) of the elites trust the government to "do the right thing most of the time."

* More than two-thirds (67%) say teachers and other educational professionals should decide what children are taught rather than letting parents decide.

* Nearly three-quarters (74%) say they are financially better off than before COVID, compared with 20% of the general public.

They loved covid. They still do love covid.

Yet many, many lo-fo normals still think that the Republicans are the "party of the rich." It hasn't been true for a long time. When I became an adult in the mid-aughts, it seemed to be a decent mix at the top. Now, it's a monoculture at the top. This is to be expected, and it's unsurprising in the extreme even though most people don't ever consider it.

The ruling class has become outright and openly predatory. The system that keeps them rich and powerful survives through naked oppression and open theft from the rest of the population. The rulers will rob you blind and put you in a gulag. They *must* do those things, as there is now no other way to sustain the system other than looting and violence.

Given that most people know this (consciously and an in articulable way or not), most people want the system reformed. Those who know reform is death - the rulers - want to avoid reform no matter the cost. This is a fundamental conflict.

51 Huh. I'm not quite in that elite group and possibly I might be considered financially better off based on normal raises. But factor in Bidenomics and I think I am a bit worse off. I'm too lazy to try to figure it out. I didn't have to get a mortgage with the new higher rates and I pay the ccs off each month so those higher interest amounts don't clobber me so it is only food and fuel inflation right now.

Back in the day, a group of researchers approached New York residents who tested positive for HIV how they got it.

A rather high percentage swore they never had sex with anyone other than female partners.

I'd love to see a follow-on question to this one:
And what do you think about that?

I'm one of these people. I am actually financially better off than I was before COVID. Not by a lot, but by some. 2020 was actually my highest-earning year I've ever had or ever will have, thanks to the tech sector's orgy of overspending during COVID. The bill for that is coming due for me soon, and I will lose my job in the hangover phase (or switch to a lower-paying position, if I'm able).

So I would have been in that 74% or 20%, depending on where I land in the demographic groups. But to that second question, I would say, "it wasn't worth it. I am moderately better off, but the world ended. The end of the world is far, far, far too high a price to pay for me to do moderately better than I otherwise would have. This was an abject disaster across the board."

Thus, the ends justify the means.

They would be aghast if 60% of pleabs felt cheating was admissible. Because it would usher in the "wrong policies."

Therefore their belief is not so much self serving but self- evident.

Let's assume for a moment that this absurd false equivalence is correct, and that teaching and brain surgery are approximately the same in terms of difficulty and training requirements. It's stupid, but let's roll with it.

If I need brain surgery (or more realistically, if a loved one needs brain surgery and I'm his guardian) and I get to the operating room and the doctor pulls out a hatchet, I'm going to intervene and withdraw consent. I may not know how to do brain surgery, but I know that a hatchet is not the right tool for the job.

235 They never advanced the concept of tools. Tools and tool making coincide with development of the wheel. They didn't have buckets, their canoes were hollow logs. Didn't the French introduce them to the hatchet?
Posted by: Braenyard at April 04, 2024 04:00 PM (MwlPL)

Metal hatchets. They had ones of their own made of stone. They traded flint over wide areas to get good working stone.

And no, their canoes weren't hollow logs, tho that worked if you needed one in a pinch. They had ones of skins on a frame, or birchbark that were light and portable across portages. A canoe is a better vehicle for small rivers instead of open ocean.

Oh no, they have to run a credit report. I guess not a bad idea for the bundled plans that run over $200 a month, but I was only thinking about our basic home plan that is $32/month. Back in 2021 some incompetent thief applied for gold plated COVID UE bennies in my name. Incompetent because the benefit card was mailed to my actual address. But a result of that I froze my credit reports and forgot all about that, so Verizon could not transfer the stinking phone plan to me cuz they couldn't get a credit report.

And he has called the criminal charges against former President Donald Trump for mishandling classified documents a ‘perimeter probe from the oppressors.’”

“But far from relegating Mr. Higgins to the fringe of their increasingly fractious conference, House Republicans have elevated him.

So the FBI under control of Trump tricked the rioters?

Teachers... Your average sixth grader knows enough to teach others.

321 I can attest that the yard sign people in my neighborhood are the most sanctimonious Californicators I have ever met. They are also the ones who couldn't survive if the barge doesn't make it up from Seattle for more than one week, so there's that.

But they do drive EVs and look askance at DH's F-350. And call Animal Control when my dogs are in the front yard off the leash. So they are "on it."

Shows what happens when you don't tell your kid's teachers to not teach YOUR kid codswallop.

Little known fact was that this was the major reason Gov Newsome's recall was pushed by the tony set here in CA. They found out they were paying hundreds of thousands extra to be taught the same nonsense as the proles.
