Sage Steele: ESPN Scripted and Dictated Every Word I Said In My "Interview" of Joe Biden in 2021

ESPN wanted to make sure Biden looked good, and didn't want the conservative-tilting Sage Steele getting any ideas about asking him difficult questions.

Former ESPN host Sage Steele said her bosses ordered her to go off a 'script' during her 2021 interview with President Biden.

Former ESPN host Sage Steele revealed that her 2021 interview with President Biden was "scripted" by network executives.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Steele recalled the "structured" nature of the pre-taped interview, so much so that her ESPN bosses handed her a "script" to go off of.

"That was an interesting experience in its own right because it was so structured," Steele said. "And I was told, 'You will say every word that we write out, you will not deviate from the script and go.'"

Many of the questions Steele asked Biden in the March 2021 interview pertained to sports leagues attempting to restore normalcy during the COVID pandemic and vaccine hesitancy among athletes and fans. Her interview made headlines at the time when Biden supported the MLB's All-Star game boycott of Atlanta following the passage of Georgia's election reform law.

But everything Steele said to the president ultimately came from ESPN's c-suite.

"To the word. Every single question was scripted, gone over dozens of times by many editors and executives. Absolutely. I was on script and was told not to deviate," Steele told Fox News Digital. "It was very much 'This is what you will ask. This is how you will say it. No follow-ups, no follow-ups. Next.' ... This went up to the fourth floor, as we said, where all the bosses, the top executives, the decision makers are, the president of our company, the CEO, where they all worked."

Steele said she didn't know for certain whether ESPN sent the questions to the White House in advance of the interview but seemed confident that is "what happened."

ESPN declined to comment.

No matter how much you hate the media, it's not enough.

Forcing the media to cover them.

Putting the contrast between how young he looks compared to Biden in front of America.
A contrast most stark showing the blatant and ruthlessly tight scripting of every detail of Biden's public appearance to Trump's free-flowing, riffing and of-the-cuff recitation of facts.

Sure, but that particular contrast has been there since day 0.

Trump isn't going to be compared to Biden in this regard. It doesn't matter. Everybody knows it.

Trump 2024 is going to be compared to Trump 2016 and Trump 2020. Any slip-up or stumble - and there will be some and the dude *is* very old - will be compared not to Biden, but to the previous Trump version. "He's in decline and is an obvious danger to Our Democracy as a result" and so on. He'll always be better and do better than Biden, but the press and other Party apparatchiks won't be making that particular comparison.

I agree but wonder if this will be dropped when it backfires. Have you seen Trump recently? He seems to have lost weight, looks more fit, and at least so far has remained relatively calm and collected. You'd never guess he's facing $500M in (bullshit) fines and (bullshit) criminal prosecutions. I think this is a better version of Trump than in 2016 or 2020.

I doubt it. Disney will never sell LucasFilm, not anytime this decade and probably not the next. *Maybe* with a changeover in leadership it could end up for sale, but even then, I'd doubt it.

If they were to divest Lucasfilm, they'd have to acknowledge something they really, really do not want to acknowledge. When they do it, they'll find out that it's probably only worth $0.75-$1.25 billion, and Disney evaporated around $3 billion in enterprise value.

That is an acknowledgement that must never be made, and that means that Lucasfilm must never be allowed to find a price.

When my daughter was about five years old she expressed an interest in going to Disney. I told her that was never going to happen that the real world was much more fun then standing in line for hours. We went all up and down the east coast as a family and saw some amazing things, the history of the country. One of my favorite pictures of all is my son and daughter excitedly running up the sand dune near Kill Devil Hills after seeing where the Wright Brothers first flight originated.

As a mother she and her husband took their children to similar locations. I don't understand the mindset of people who desire to stand in line for hours in the hot sun to see a man-made 'attraction'.

Diddler apparently had some legal control over Justin as well. Usher was also around 14 when Diddler signed him. So much dirt to come out.

I know people that met him around that age, he was horrible to them, but I think he was on the same self destructive path as Hunter. I agree about Hunter, I suspect he and Bieber were both horribly abused as kids.

There is no one Constitutionally authorized to be the final arbitor of what is classified and not except the President - it's his plenary power alone that dictates it - otherwise you must give over executive power to unelected servants of the state - everyone in this case knows it, Smith, Trump, the judge, even the left. That's why they went with the dumb WW1 espionage act for giving away "defense" secrets hoping to pull a fast one over the judiciary - not going to work - same Constitutional order applies here. This whole exercise is laughable and dumb - it's meant just to give talking points to shit-for-brains like Jake Tapper for awhile.

310 Like Taylor Swift if she had a rack

Way prettier than Taylor. Taylor is at best, on a good day, with the right light,....very average looking. She's meh. I wouldn't give her a second look at the grocery store.

318 And being that they are using the espionage act, you can guarendamntee that their is still an active counter-intelligence investigation/program being run against Trump and his associates and satellites.

Yup.

That's why he fighting so hard to keep the witnesses secret.
To keep the evidence secret.

And the next shoe:
To limit the Brady Disclosures... to only the evidence they used to indict him (but also want to keep secret).

320 I believe that in large part they did this with Obama but not exactly for the same reasons. When O went off script, he would stammer, mispronounce words, and keep babbling while saying nothing, and sometimes his disdain for America and its citizens would shine through so they had to keep him on track with the lies. Just like a Hollywood actor.
