NEW: LeBron James appears to suddenly care about the pitfalls of progressive policies as he has reportedly become "very concerned" about squatters in his neighborhood.
Two-doors down from James' Beverly Hills property, squatters have taken over a home.
The home is used for "cocaine orgy parties" by the squatters.
According to news outlet @Curbed, James is "very concerned."
"One of the neighbors got in touch with LeBron James's house manager. They were told James was very concerned," the outlet reported.
James purchased his property for $36.8 million in 2022 and tore down the home that was on it to build his dream home.
The squatter home throws frequent parties that usually don't start until 2am.
The squatters are even impacting James' pockets. The NBA star reportedly needs 24/7 security guards because of the frequent parties.
Police are not able to evict the squatters because they produced a fake lease agreement and obtained drivers licenses with the address of the property.
The neighborhood also belongs to celebrities like John Legend and Seth McFarlane.

How does that even work? Do the squatters have to be there for a while to get this scam to work? Or do they have the paperwork ready to go just before they break in?

If that's true, the police came out and the scammers showed them their fake paperwork while an alarm was screaming and the police can't do anything about it?

If the scammers have to be there a while, how did they manage that? I'm assuming the property is worth tens of millions of dollars, which means they almost certainly have an alarm system with cameras and possibly even on call private security.

The cops show up, and the squatters claim, "We're leasing it, and the owner's being a jerk and trying to throw us out early.". That triggers the Renters Protection laws, which are heavily biased against landlords. They've already scoped out the house beforehand, as they can't squat in a house if someone's home. So the fake documents are probably ready when they move in.

I'm guessing either the house wasn't alarmed, or they figured out how to disable it before they broke in. But that's speculation on my part.

He gives the game a fair shake, breaking down what he likes and doesn't like about the game.

CONCLUSION: It's one of the worst games he's ever played. The mechanics and design just don't work. It's completely random for the most part with little player interaction. Needs more "thematic" elements to spice up the game.

I was a huge Spurs fan. I was all into the NBA. Will an NBA Championship for San Antonio cure cancer? Perhaps not, but I followed the NBA religiously. It was a nice diversion, as was the NFL. Then both became political. As soon as that happened, I checked out of both. I don't need to hear Steve Kerr lecturing me on my hobbies, or Gregg Popovich bitching about other things politically. Or ANY of the players. They can fuck right off with that shit. I was DONE. Apparently others are too.

Seems pretty simple to me, the police call the property owners. If the owners say its bogus, you kick them out. The squatters can then certainly have their day in civil court if a lease was broken.

The only thing I can think of if this really is some widely used loophole is make leases have to be formally registered in some way, but funny it's just leftist run hell holes that seem to have squatter problems.

Depends on the state....but the big hindrance is that it's a civil matter if the squatter stands there waving a paper. The police can only remove them if there is obvious evidence of a crime....like a broken window. A lot of states now have a specific office to address squatters...and the police don't enter into the equation.

Blue states have been enacting all sorts of tenant rights legislation recently (it's one of AOC's issues) and I would guess that they're taking advantage of protections enacted for legit renters.

Clearly you have never been in tenant/landlord court in a big city. The rules and system bend over backward to never evict anyone, or ever create hardship or consequences for the scum of the earth. It takes months to evict anyone. This is done to "help" the downtrodden, but in fact it makes it harder to rent, and more expensive. It punishes the downtrodden as well as the people trying to climb up the ladder who want to have rental income.

You really cant tell the difference between a legitimate lease disagreement and some dirtbag squatting in some mansion?

What are the terms of the lease? $20k a month for a multi million dollar mansion? Are the signatures notarized? Do you have payment receipts to show you have been abiding by the lease terms you are waving around?

This is easy to sniff out for law enforcement.

205 In PA there is actually a law on the books that allows a squatter to transfer squatting rights to another person. It varies, but a squatter can acquire actual possession of the property by staying there 7 years without anyone telling them to leave. The deed just transfers over to them.

I know for a fact that nurses and workers at medical facilities actually sell information on what houses might be coming vacant due to health issues of elderly in "their care." They also, tip of reators. Say what you like about medical workers...but I know that some of them are outright pieces of excrement.
