Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Spring Into GAINZZZI took CBD oil a while ago. I had read it helps you get deep sleep -- the most important phase of sleep, which we get less and less of as we age. We begin getting more shallow, nap-like, Biden-during-a-Cabinet-Meeting sleep. It worked for me. I had been getting around 45 minutes of deep sleep, when it's really better to get an hour and twenty minutes or an hour and a half. When I took the CBD oil I started getting 20-25 minutes extra deep sleep per night, or more. And that really makes a difference. When I get 90 minutes or even 105 minutes of deep sleep, I feel renewed. "Mossy," even. This Forbes article from January discusses CBD oil's use in promoting deep sleep.I don't know why I stopped using it. But I've been sleeping badly for weeks, so I got some more at the market. First night of using it, I got an hour and twenty minutes of deep sleep and felt great. It doesn't always work -- I had a bad night of sleep generally Tuesday night, and only got 40 minutes of deep sleep. Still, that's actually better than what I get during a night of bad sleep. CBD oil is pretty expensive - my bottle of 60mg strength oil cost $120, and it's a small bottle -- but it might be worth a one-time purchase to try. JackStraw tells me I can quit any time I want. Some health bites: Possibly good news on cancer. Cancer cells have an outer coat that hides their nature as destroyer cells, so the immuno cells of the body don't destroy them. Supposedly a two-step treatment forces cancer cells to "unmask" so that they can be targeted by other drugs -- and the body's own self-defense system. Using these tool molecules forces tumor cells from a specific type of breast cancer into a pro-senescence state -- similar to a sleep-like state in which they can no longer divide or cause tumor growth. This condition makes the cancer cells sensitive to a second group of tool molecules, called senolytic drugs, which can eliminate them. It may also 'uncloak' the cancer cells, making them visible to the body's immune system, offering further therapeutic opportunities. Researchers developed this 'two-punch' method while looking at basal-like breast cancer (BLBC).Eating refined carbs can make you appear less attractive, according to a new study conducted by Jonah Goldberg's wife. While the health implications of a diet rich in refined carbs has long been studied, researchers wanted to see whether there was a significant relationship between eating refined carbs and how attractive you are perceived to be. For this study, some participants (all men and women of European descent, in order to make the group more similar culturally and reduce physical differences) were given a breakfast high in refined carbs that raised blood sugar levels, while others received a low-glycemic breakfast. Later, opposite-sex volunteers assessed the facial attractiveness of these participants in photos taken two hours after breakfast. The researchers found that higher consumption of refined carbohydrates was associated with lower facial attractiveness ratings in both men and women. The study also suggested that regularly consuming refined carbohydrates at breakfast and as snacks was linked to lower attractiveness ratings. On a positive side, the study also found that eating a breakfast comprised mainly of fats and proteins, such as dairy, with a small amount of refined carbohydrates boosted attractiveness ratings. This may shock you, but obesity seems to result in poorer mental health in older people, particularly in women. Ladies, if you ever find yourselves thinking about dying your hair purple and getting a nosering or three -- try intermittent fasting. It may be your only hope. In analyzing the data, and factoring out lifestyle factors, the researchers found what they describe as an association between BMI/body measurements consistent with obesity and depression along with feelings of low well-being. They noted that such relationships were more common for the women in the study than for the men. GAINZ (well, more accurately, LOSSEZ) update for anyone who is interested.
I have not fallen off the wagon after deciding to get serious about weight loss and improving my general strength and health just before Christmas. I've been losing an average of about three pounds per week, in a maximum range of about 2 to about 4.5. I have kept my diet in check and am being very disciplined to make sure I am nutritionally sound on a very reduced calorie intake. This has effectively meant the elimination of carbs as a consequence (not nutrient-dense enough for the calorie cost), but the only thing I specifically avoid is refined sugar. Aside from my niece's birthday party in January, my refined sugar intake has been zero. My diet consists mostly of meat and vegetables. I lift weights at least six days a week, for about 40 minutes. I'm slowly getting stronger, but am still quite weak. I walk at least 20 minutes every day except "leg day," unless it's raining, in which case I use a stationary bike. It sucks and I hate it, but it's paying dividends. Measuring my belt (which I've had to cut new holes into), my waist has shrunk about five inches or so. Here's a GAINZZZ I maybe mentioned before. The lively and athletic Mrs naturalfake and I have been doing these stretch exercise routines for about 6 weeks now before we start the day or go walking/jogging or playing pickleball or even just sitting down to write. They're a great way to limber up and you'll just feel better cuz everything is moving well. The first set is from Japan. It's on every morning and afternoon. Yes, you'll probably feel stupid doing it for the first week or so, but then you'll notice, you're moving better and more comfortably whatever you're doing. The second set is Qi Gong, which I know nothing about and don't really buy into the whole Chinese medicine aspect. However, these 3 are great little stretch exercises that will loosen you up and get the blood flowing for whatever you do next in your day. Posted by: sharon(willow's apprentice) at April 05, 2024 04:25 PM (t/2Uw) Sharon, it all depended on where I was experiencing issues. A typical exam goes like this: 1) asks me exactly how, and when the issue occurred 2) asks me to demonstrate what I can and cannot do 3) he or she will then manipulate the extremity(ies) in question to ascertain any weaknesses through a range of motion 4) once a diagnosis is made, the doc will throw needles in a multitude of areas (nodes), and then if appropriate attach an electrical stimulator to force muscle contractions over a period of 10-30 minutes Rarely have I needed more than two ... three at the most, sessions to bring things back into balance. The revolt against vows has been carried in our day even to the extent of a revolt against the typical vow of marriage. It is most amusing to listen to the opponents of marriage on this subject. They appear to imagine that the ideal of constancy was a yoke mysteriously imposed on mankind by the devil, instead of being, as it is, a yoke consistently imposed by all lovers on themselves. They have invented a phrase, a phrase that is a black and white contradiction in two words—'free-love'—as if a lover ever had been, or ever could be, free. It is the nature of love to bind itself, and the institution of marriage merely paid the average man the compliment of taking him at his word. Modern sages offer to the lover, with an ill-flavoured grin, the largest liberties and the fullest irresponsibility; but they do not respect him as the old Church respected him; they do not write his oath upon the heavens, as the record of his highest moment. They give him every liberty except the liberty to sell his liberty, which is the only one that he wants.

Posted by: Jordan61 at April 05, 2024 04:17 PM (DRSnL) Keep after it, J! I've lost a fair amount of weight over the past 10 months, by dieting and most importantly, dieting discipline. A big part of the discipline for me is at the grocery store: I only buy items that are on my diet plan, and in the quantities in the plan. In other words, if I don't buy it I can't eat it. A corresponding part of the discipline is very, very rarely eating at restaurants and NO fast food. By eating almost all meals at home it is easy to control what I eat and the portion sizes (i.e., what I bought at the grocery store). In Mr. Bernard Shaw's brilliant play 'The Philanderer,' we have a vivid picture of this state of things. Charteris is a man perpetually endeavouring to be a free-lover, which is like endeavouring to be a married bachelor or a white negro. He is wandering in a hungry search for a certain exhilaration which he can only have when he has the courage to cease from wandering. Men knew better than this in old times—in the time, for example, of Shakespeare's heroes. When Shakespeare's men are really celibate they praise the undoubted advantages of celibacy, liberty, irresponsibility, a chance of continual change. But they were not such fools as to continue to talk of liberty when they were in such a condition that they could be made happy or miserable by the moving of someone else's eyebrow.

I recently ran across some YouTube videos with 8 hrs plus of Solfeggio frequencies. These frequencies were rediscovered in the 1950's by German physicists. The Schumann reference frequency measures the frequency between the earth's surface and the ionosphere and is at 7.86 to 8 Hz. The Solfeggioi frequencies are then determined by sequential octaves above this reference. 432 Hz is optimal for sleeping and the other freq's have different benefits attributed to them. I've been using different videos with different frequency combinations and can only say anecdotally I'm waking up more refreshed and am sleeping through the night better. You may actually have been awake. A lot of those type of drugs temporarily disable your short-term memory so that you can't remember anything. You may have heard your doctor or dentist warn you not to go to work or do anything important if you've been knocked out or had conscious sedation. Those drugs are especially useful in something like 3rd molar extractions where you literally have no memory of the extraction or the pain afterwards if you have any. One thing I found out on accident when I used to walk to the bus stop after my F-150 was on the fritz. Walking is a very good way to lose inches around the waist.. I was shocked because I ran/jogged for years for cardio and never noticed any change in the physique . I think it has a lot to do with the heart rate. There is an optimum sweet spot for burning carbs and running produces a heart rate too fast to be as effective a walking at a fast pace...

delta-8 THC is legal in Illinois (and a bunch of other states). I have no idea what product to try ... 150mg gummies are like $1.50 each, which is reasonable if one gets me better sleep, every so often. Delta8minds.com is just one that came up in a search.

Like normal is 50 whatever, and I have 1650 whatever. Apparently it mostly happens to men, tho mine is genetic, my twin brother had it too. Here's the treatment: I get to donate blood every two weeks. Do I share this with anyone else here? What do you eat? Beef and wild meats are off the table. I've only had beef twice since November 1, and I'm a Montana girl. Sob. Losing weight is not an option. I'm at the bottom of the BMI thingie. Any suggestions? Consult a hematologist and ask if he/she recommends genetic testing to determine if you have hemochromatosis. Once your iron levels are stabilized you probably need to to have tests done quarterly to make sure iron levels are not creeping upwards. Don't know if you drink alcohol but twenty years ago there was a blanket recommendation to not drink any alcohol at all. My doctor tells me that current guidelines are not quite as restrictive. Your brother should consult a hematologist as well. Posted by: mr tmz at April 05, 2024 05:19 PM (rJ48h) 228

The waking up part of my circadian rhythms is a strict little bastard, and I will almost always wake up at the same time no matter when I go to bed.
So, I always try to organize things so that I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. For me, a big part of my "sleep hygiene" is turning off the lights for an 30-60 minutes before I go to sleep and watching anime. You know, Japanese cartoons, which irritates the beautiful and generally magnanimous Mrs naturalfake. "You're ( ) years old, why are you watching cartoons?" Eh, they're low involvement, low stakes, and generally a simple watch. Perfect pre-sleep fodder. Speaking of which... If you're an anime person, check out "Frieren" it's an excellent anime concerning an elf who was part of a questing group that conquered the Demon King after ten years. They won, then broke up and went on their ways. The elf said she'd be back buuuuut, since elves live for several thousands of years, time is very different for her. By the time she gets back, the members of her questing group are old and feeble, dying, or dead. She realizes she missed out on being with them and starts to retrace the path of their previous quest. 'Delta 9' is THC. 'Delta 8' is CBD oil acidified by some process. Listen, I'm not a chem major alright? Chemical cousins. Different, but close. Delta 8 is much less in a lot of areas, sort of 'Lite Beer'. Some low level of Delta 8 is certainly going to send a person into deep sleep. No driving a vehicle or the MV Deli through the spans of the Francis Scott Key bridge during outgoing tide, m'okay? But if one were to secure a vape pen and some Delta 8 (legal in Texas and Florida for example) a short five second hit on the pen would almost certainly guarantee sleep. Perhaps some dreams of a deeply erotic nature, involving women with sexual characteristics which would be of a highly stimulating nature. Sleep is really, really good. 'Cheating' a little bit to get there is okay in my book. Especially great dreams of a memorable nature. But you didn't hear it from me. Someone told me. Probably JackStraw. Afternoon.
Reading...well, skimming...Jean-Paul Sartre's preface to Franz Fanon's Wretched Of The Earth and...man, dude's a fucking psychopath. It does clarify something. If you ever wonder why the so-called "Decolonization" movement seems oddly intent on flooding Europe with non-natives it's because marxists view Europeans as the only ones with a need and a drive for colonization. All other peoples, apparently, don't. So "decolonization" is less about removing Europeans from places they previously colonized and more about the destruction of European civilization and its people. In other words, mass murder and genocide. More succinctly, kill whitey. But we all knew marxism is nothing but an intellectual exercise to justify orgiastic violence. Posted by: jim (in Kalifornia) 1 of 2 It does sound like hemochromatosis. It is hereditary and for which there is a test. It is deadly serious and can kill you if not treated. You will not die from hemochromatosis, but you will die from failure of one or more organs brought about by the iron overload. Women who have the condition will typically not manifest the chief indicator of high iron loading in the body until they enter menopause and their monthly periods, which relieve the body's iron loading through blood loss, cease. Mrs. KvC has it, as does at least one of her brothers. She's known about it for at least a decade or more. Her genetic test was positive. Her initial treatment involved having a pint of blood drawn every two weeks in conjunction with having a blood test to track the lessening levels of iron in her body. That one time process was exhausting for her, as you might have expected, because they were essentially trying to make her anemic. But I have been pretty decent at ping pong for some reason ever since I was a little kid. Luckily, those skills transfer easily to pickleball. I started playing pickleball... It's fun and doesn't feel like exercise. Try it! Posted by: Oglebay How old are you? Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. at April 05, 2024 05:44 PM (63Dwl) 291

In analyzing the data, and factoring out lifestyle factors, the researchers found what they describe as an association between BMI/body measurements consistent with obesity and depression along with feelings of low well-being. They noted that such relationships were more common for the women in the study than for the men. They also noted that their findings were consistent with those found in other similar research efforts.
++++ Being fat sucks. No shit. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at April 05, 2024 04:06 PM (HnUIn) The gender difference could be explained by the usual though. Women get a vision in their head of how they should look and see only where they fall short, while guys get a vision in their heads and see where they measure up while ignoring the shortfalls. It gets more acute as you age. There are plenty of times I look in the mirror and see what is left of the man I used to be instead of the wrinkles and food belly. That difference can take a toll on the psyche Posted by: OneEyedJack at April 05, 2024 06:57 PM (FCbAQ) 295

Weed Juice makes the HR increase and lowers your ability to REM sleep. It makes you stupid and slow though and that is often confused with REM sleep.
