  • The Lenovo Legion Tab is officially coming to Europe and Asia. (Lenovo)

This month. Better get a move on, because there's not much of this month left.

Downside is that at 599 Euros the price is not much cheaper than importing the Japanese version.

On paper though it's a great device, with a 2560x1600 8.8" screen, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. CPU is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which has a Cortex X2 as its main core, so it's both recent and fast.

It includes a microSD slot and two USB-C ports. Either one can be used for charging, so you can charge while it is connected to a monitor or a headphone adapter (no separate headphone port).

I'll buy one since there is no real competition. Not two though, not at that price.

  • I did buy the Asus M1505, the cheaper of the two Asus models I've highlighted recently.

Ryzen 7730U CPU (8 Zen 3 CPU cores and 8 Vega graphics cores), 16GB of RAM which I'm upgrading to 40GB, 512GB of SSD which I'm upgrading to 2TB, the Four Essential Keys in the form of a three-column numeric keypad - not ideal but better than not having them, and the standout feature, a 15.6" 2880x1620 120Hz OLED display.

    Roughly $1000 as configured.

  • If you have Mac Studio envy the FN60G sold by Topton is basically a shrunk-in-the-wash version. (Liliputing)

It's bigger than a regular NUC but still very small; it uses an Intel desktop CPU and a laptop graphics module. No expansion slots apart from memory and storage, so what you buy it with is all you get.

Apart from those two memory slots and two M.2 slots, it has two HDMI ports, two DisplayPort ports, one USB-C port which can also drive a display for up to five monitors in total; two 2.5Gbit network ports, and four USB-A ports on the back. On the front, another two USB-A ports, one USB-C, headphone jack, and a full-size SD card slot. Which is a pretty good complement of ports for a small system.

Prices fully configured start around $1000 and go up to $2000, which is not terrible but you can certainly build a regular PC for the same price.

Disclaimer: Or, as I just noted, a rather nice laptop.

Posted by: Thing From Snowy Mountain

It has 8GB of RAM soldered in place and one DIMM slot which comes populated with 8GB. So swap that with a 32GB module and you get 40GB.

I'd prefer two DIMM slots but it's still an improvement over 16GB soldered in place which is what I currently have.

It's pretty good software; I own it. I did need to pay again when they release version 2.0 (after years of upgrades on 1.x), but still great value.

It's not at the level of Adobe, but it's much, much cheaper.

21 What is the "right" number of people?

There isn't one. Live your life. Make new people if you want. Don't if you don't. Make the world better by making your world better. Be a good citizen, be a good friend, be a good family member. Stop with this fascistic nannying of everybody else to get in line and live the way you would have them live. Have fifteen kids if you want. Have zero if you want. Adopt a kid or two. Or just shut up and go to work and increase the productivity of the species that infinitesimal bit so that you can have nice things and not be a drag on everyone else.

Shut up and get a life instead of trying to take away everyone else's, Dennis.

Something interesting about the bridge collapse is the report that the anchor was dropped on the port (left) side of the ship. If that anchor had done anything at all it would have tugged the front of the ship to the left, not to the right.

Does not compute.

28 I bought Walmart Gateway recently because it had 16GB ram and 512TB plus a built in card reader. It was refurbished, 275.00 shipped to me. I will be back on Pixy time soon, so I am looking forward to participating more on these. Hi Skip.

I used an HP Stream 14 forever. A friend gave it to me--it was unusable with Windows 10 as it has only 32GB internal storage, and Windows was continually updating beyond 32GB. He gives to me so I linuxed it. I can't tell you how great it is for travel. It's super light weight and the battery life is great. If I open it, use it for what I need and close it, it will hold on for 24 hours. I sure as hell can't get a cell phone to do that.

I am interested in the Goldbach Conjecture. I'm a baby, baby at math, but I have worked on it for over 3 years now almost 4 - 8 hours a day, though lately I've taken a break. I think I have a proof now finally, which puts me in the ranks of some of the greatest crank minds to have ever lived.

ChatGPT helps me a lot with the expression. She outputs in Tex if you use the copy button, but I find she has gotten worse over time. I will try the 4 version again soon.

36 Usually, if you have a population collapse, you do not get to choose. It's either genetically random in the case of plague (not RANDOM random.) If you have a lack of food, well, then you are selecting for things that have nothing to do with ideological purity (or at least you will be fairly quickly.)

They want it, but they also want to get to choose. It's pretty breathtakingly evil, when it comes down to it.

The right side of the ship is torn up and I can't see the anchor. With the number of foreign nationals on board did an American guiding the ship out of the harbor call for the port anchor to be deployed and someone instead deployed the anchor on the starboard (right) side of the ship?

That would definitely explain the ship slowing then turning to the right.

Even if both were deployed it would be a crap shoot as to which one would could grab onto anything.

46 The reason for lower numbers pre say 1900, is not for lack of food. The greatest reason, imo, for the explosion of the population in the 20th was the revolution in childhood mortality due to medical care and antibiotics. It is one of the greatest triumphs in human history.

These retards have a vision of a 10%, but they also envision it exactly like things are now- just with fewer people and everyone agreeing with them socially and politically. It's not just breathtakingly evil, but also stupid.

Something I think about from time to time was an analysis I saw about population growth in modern societies. Usually, when there is some tragic event, it is followed by a baby boom/population explosion. However, due to abortion and political ideology, modern societies actually see a reproduction decrease. Not to mention a more subtle tranny push that was labelled "feminism."

The folks in charge have turned the majority of women of the last generation or two into men. Not their sexual bits, but via GRRLLL POWWRRRR. They're convinced that they're men and can do men stuff like have a demanding, lonely, stress-driven corporate job and that families and babies are bad and "tools of the patriarchy" or whatever.

No, it's a very feminine trait and part of the trannyism that feminism pushed. Men don't care, women care a lot. It's how we're wired. There might be one or two out of every thousand (ten thousand?) men that is interested, but it's unavoidably true.

If you as a man were in the market and a 7-10 on your beauty scale showed genuine interest in you, would one of your first inclinations be to wonder how much she earned or to look and see what kind of car she drove and what lifestyle she could offer you? Would it influence whether you wanted to remain in pursuit of the relationship after you saw that she was a cashier at the Dollar Tree?

The museum staff mocked the students, called them expletives, and made comments that the museum was a “neutral zone” where they could not express such statements. The employee who ultimately forced the students to leave the museum was rubbing his hands together in glee as they exited the building.

178 "April's solar eclipse could lead to over 1,000 car crash deaths, shock study warns"

Probably should ban it then.

182 159 Anna Puma, have you checked out the ONT last night?
Posted by: San Franpsycho at March 27, 2024 07:25 AM (RIvkX)

I was gonna ask that, too. If you didn't, Anna Puma, definitely do!

183 from the ONT:

182 The one thread Anna Puma should be in on...

184 Every time this happens - item two:
asus-vivobook-15-oled-m1505. I decide I am going to purchase this one... then I run smack dab into their horrendous web site to try and order and end up exasperated by the whole experience.

I DON'T WANT WINDOWS 11 HOME, I WANT WINDOWS 11 PROFESSIONAL; I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO GO INTO THE BUSINESS SECTION TO ORDER YOUR STUPID LAPTOP.

So I don't order and walk away.

185 Affinity Photo is very, very good, almost as good as PhotoShop. Affinity say they have "no plans" to turn it into a subscription model. If they do, they kill the company.
